April 17Apr 17 Maybe the next version of MSFS will revolutionize ATC ( default ) ? They're doing some updates and they're aware of many of the reported bugs / inconsistencies, but while the team is surely a big one in number, the amount of details and areas that MSFS covers goes well beyind the competition, so, as many as they may be, there's allways a lot of stuff to track, solve, implement... They should take their time, and hopefully bring a better default ATC with whatever next version MSFS will be. Truth is in MSFS 2024 I can use even some of the default airliners like I never even tried in any of the former versions of MS Flight Simulator. I quite often pick the default Inibuilds 321 and 320 Neo instead of my FSLabs or the default 320 instead of my Fenix. I still have to try and use the default Max, 787 and 747, but it's in my plans, probably adding some of teh compatible mods available. I keep saying MSFS should go subscription, and continuous updates with backward compatibility and / or necessary updates to former outfits provided as it progresses. Heck, I pay 11€ month for the navigraph subscription... The subscription model would allow for the necessary continuing support to ASOBO, WT, MS and motivate them to offer us an even better platform. I for sure wouldn't mind adhering to such a model. The frustration for me is that it is not even close to being as good as that in P3Dv4 (or even FSX for that matter) in and around the airport environment. The only difference between these simulators in that respect is the sloping terrain of airports in MSFS 2024 (and 2020). The animation obviously needs to account for that (currently the AI airliners "climb micro steps", which looks ridiculous), but the rest of the animations (take off/landing/visible undercarriage) and AI movement logic should be at least as good as that in the older simulators. At the moment, the default is nowhere near that. That's what the marketplace is for, don't see the point of a subscription. Especially with the increase of timed exclusives.
April 17Apr 17 If they implement ATC / AI changes that tank performance like in FSX / P3D then I'm out. dd
April 17Apr 17 I never had a significant problem with performance in P3Dv4 as far as AI planes are concerned, and I had it set at 100% with a massive database of commercial airliners, executive jets, and lots of military traffic. I will *never* be out as long as they keep coming. I updated my PC for FS2020 and still run 2024 on my mediocre CPU like a charme on most settings high and some ultra like clouds and water waves (I like stormy approaches over water like ENHD or KBOS or PAKT in my tubeliners) although I was about to update my HW for 2024. my only update last year was from my 3060 to the 4070 and that still pays off. so should the next sequel now really tank performance then I would for sure bite the bullet and finally invest in new CPU before quitting this business. YMMV. Just my 2 cents Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
