The first thread is about inaccurate depiction of METARs - that's fine but not what we're actually asking for. The second thread is all the way from 2020 and covers a wide variety of issues, some of which have been improved since. I feel like what would be more effective is starting a new thread that's calling for an overhaul of weather in 2024. Just simple as that and straight to the point. Get that upvoted into the sort of numbers Asobo can't ignore. If that's the case, then yes lets start a new thread to make our sentiments felt. Issue i've seen is that they get merged into an already existant thread. Case and point, the 2nd thread about clouds has all of these linked after other users have opened them. https://ibb.co/WLqf2L6 Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

I had assumed it was due to the workload of producing the Phenom, but no, this has turned my frown upside down 🙂 While it's not native it does still work quite well - if you're not using it, it's working fine for me... worth an install for sure! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

It really looks like they keep doing their best to further improve MSFS. I'm glad 😍 (I hadn't watched the stream when I responded previously...) I'd like to add that Seb spoke for a couple minutes about improved helicopter flight dynamics - he says they've now fixed the problems with ground effect transitions (e.g., when lifting off from a rooftop and transitioning over the wall, as well as the inconsistent issues with hovering over mesh helipads. Also, Translational Lift has been further improved - NICE 🙂 Also, Jorg talked about having a plan to bring many of the First Party v2020 payware up to v2024 standards (he did specifically mention the Aviator edition, but not too clear on if that means all of those, or...?). He did specify that they're going to do them in groups of five or so, with the first batch coming with SU5! All seem to have expanded features & upgrades 🙂 : the An-2 biplane, Latocoere flying boat, the ATR, Fokker VII, and the savoia, that funky twin hull flying boat All in all, I think it was a very good stream, with a satisfying amount of information and pending progress in the near future.

Oh, yeah - not only does it work fine in v2024, it was one of the handful of 3rd Party addons that worked properly on Day 1 of v2024's release! It's definitely Compatible! By "updated", I meant with the usual Native transition, and hopefully some tweaks to take advantage of all the CFD/physics updates (e.g., I hope Asobo have made prop drag available in v2024? the FSR500 has none!). April 16Apr 16 For those of you who want change in the weather. Please view this topic I created where I showed the storm around the St.Louis area. How it was portrayed in MSFS, how it's impossible to recreate it with presets and a bunch of examples, and source data for them to work on. We need votes, it's the only way they will pay attention to this. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/where-are-the-cumulonimbus-clouds/262852/54?u=pilotowawawa Edited April 16Apr 16 by spearmint_flyer They yet again changed where my post was placed. April 16Apr 16 I am surprised that every time the question of ATC and AI comes up they seem so passive like there would be nothing more to improve and they keep bringing up very small fixes they have done or will do. Have they even seen S.I and BeyondATC and what can be done. Default ATC it terrible and in no way better than in FSX (actually worse) and they dont seem to cope with this fact at all or dont really care. To me ATC is one of few areas where time stands still, an area they seriously have not wanted to improve and I can not understand why.
April 16Apr 16 The only problem with the weather is there is no problem with the weather. At least that's how me and a million other 'light' users see it. The same goes for default ATC, the UI, Market Place and probably a few other things. IOW, I'm not sitting around and waiting for MSFS PRO Version to show up rather I'm enjoying every minute with the current sim. dd

I think the question was if all aircraft would receive the 2024 treatment (which I interpreted as things like the additions added to the SDK and CFD flight models being ported to old aircraft) and Jorg seemed a bit confused that this is what the question was asking. Honestly, I think so many default aircraft are so rarely touched that Asobo doesn't even know how broken they are. If you peruse the official forums, some default aircraft surveys have posts in the single digits. Aircraft like the Pitts have so much potential but no one flies them, probably for the same reason I don't fly them: they fly like poo! Who knows though, maybe all the extra bells and whistles wouldn't fix much.

Local Legend 24 is the CAC Boomerang, made by inibuilds, maybe in cooperation with another dev? Didn't quite catch it. Judging by the recent BATC thread, it's terrible as well! I've ventured into XP forums, and folks complain about XP ATC as well. I'm guessing this is why they aren't addressing it... not because they don't realize it's broken, but because they don't know how to fix it. I'll take these small incremental updates over no updates at all. They did mention helicopter traffic being portrayed in the future. Also, remember that FSX did not have live traffic. I'm sure live traffic does not make the ATC situation any easier. Edit: Also, Jorg did mention wanting to improve career mode, and frankly a lot that is broken in career mode is due to broken traffic and ATC. Edited April 16Apr 16 by Funky D

Who knows though, maybe all the extra bells and whistles wouldn't fix much. Well, it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation… But at least there’s data behind the decisions. Eg, the A400 is popular enough that they backported it to 2020. The great thing I heard him say is that he doesn’t want to sell those 2020 payware addons in 2024 if they’re not up to 2024 standards. So he’s made a good call by de-prioritizing the free aircraft in favor of the paid aircraft. But that’s not all, they also recognize that certain “free” aircraft just aren’t up to standards, and they’ve reassigned development from the original dev to new, capable ones. Eg, the EC135 and the H225, et al.
April 16Apr 16 I hope upcoming QoL changes are somewhat major in nature, but I'm holding my breath. There are some hardcoded stuff like impossible vertically stacked landing surfaces, perpetual snow cover and curved runways which devs have no control over. Some basic stuff is lacking as well. For example even a basic manual for the Airship 600. A picture illustrating the controls would be a partial success. Newcomers will be turned-off as even experienced simmers get frustrated. https://www.youtube.com/user/JustaRandomSimmer Simulator Videos http://sierra-hotel.blogspot.com Aviation Picture Blog
