Thanks, will do this if I buy it. But still unsure what I'm getting comparing to old freeware X-WORLD? Except, and quite possibly updated all sorts of data, what else I'm getting? Will it place proper forests and many trees in towns and cities, unlike Global Forests v2? I'm not going into nitpicking the differences, but trying to determine if is it worth getting.

good question. id also like to know this.

Well, if you didn’t care you wouldn’t keep posting about it…? Its hardly nitpicking if I can get superior results from a 6 year old product. And I’m not going to apologize for living in a HUGE country

It's still OSM + MS building footprints + heights + the now closed Google Sketchup 3D warehouse. However, now it's just generated again with OSM2Xplane instead of World2XPlane (since that's what event

@UrgentSiesta , are these houses american enough for you? https://ibb.co/GQgZR0PR Also note the missing roads. Missing data (in the DSFs) seems to be prevalent in the initial X-World release, as ther

I find, outside of Europe especially, very little improvement over the older version and certainly not worth $35.

What's worse, many residential areas outside Europe as well are just rows of houses with nothing but grass and parkinglots of grass.

The developer has yet to respond to a support ticket.

Agree, seems like buildings are just plopped down anywhere, with no sidewalks or roadways. One would have to walk on grass to get to their building.

I have it, it adds Trees in the cities and towns and shores and roads ,,, new buildings

For me it was an absolute no-brainer. I've send more money to them already than now buying it for $35 ;)

X-Plane without simHeaven and Ortho is possible, but pointless ;)

True, but The price isn’t the issue.

It’s gotta fix the “problem” I have. 🤙

So it is better for now to stick with the freeware version of Simheaven?

It's still OSM + MS building footprints + heights + the now closed Google Sketchup 3D warehouse. However, now it's just generated again with OSM2Xplane instead of World2XPlane (since that's what eventually turned into the TrueEarth sceneries and couldn't be used commercially as it's now owned by Orbx and not myself).

Perhaps people have too high expectations on what it actually does?. At the end of the day, it's similar as before, but now you're paying to support the effort to build and host these, encourage more work, fix problems etc. Considering he's been hosting these for as long as I can remember for free and spending lots of time generating them, I think that's only fair he gets something out of it.

In my view (and from painful experience 😊), the scenery could lose most of the unnecessary stuff such as park benches, bus stops, cemeteries etc, it just drags the sim down and makes it take longer to load and uses more memory etc. Nobody will ever see these things once up in the air.

Maybe my expectations were set too high, just looks like buildings randomly placed looking at 19:00 into the video.

Yesterday i flew to Tunis - it looks awful to be honest, wondering if keeping so much data on my disc and having such result makes any sense...

What is wrong with Tunis in your opinion?

Is it possible that you have some problems with your install or compatibility with other scenery packages?

I totally like it to be honest.

It seems quite surprising that x-World Pro, just like its predecessor, demonstrates its quality best in conjunction with orthophotos—or is this a new realization?

I think the same. Better elevation model and "real" placement of imagery plays so well with the high-resolution overlays that X-WORLD provides. The default overlays are really only good for the default ("plausible") X-Plane world.

Notice for Ortho-users: Many (like me) might not like the new draped polygons over meadows and farmland. They can be disabled in library.txt: https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/340675-simheaven-x-world-pro/?page=38#comment-3055127
