Hopefully someone can do a mod to install a second CIVA unit on the RH side of the pedestal.

That would be great yes. I remember the good ol’ times flying the magnificent Ralph Tofflemire’s B747-200 which had three CIVA units! Now that bird was a handfull, but if flew beautifully. Maybe one day… :)

It’s a combi: half cargo, half pax.

Even includes visual cargo, etc

“The -320C was a convertible airframe — passengers, cargo, or both — and this model recreates the combi layout: main deck cargo section between the cockpit and the cabin, with passenger cabin aft of the wing. The interior is complete: cockpit, The main-deck cargo hold carries visible containers, the large cargo door is operable, and two courier/cargo-master seats sit forward of the cargo section, each with configurable occupancy — as on the physical aircraft, where a cargo master sat. Even the galley service door is modeled at its true, airline-cart size — anyone taller than the cart ducks.”

Can’t see a reason to skip it if it still freight dogs. 🤙

Thanks for the update.👍

For 15 quid I took the plunge, knowing that this isn't really my thing but I wanted to support the devs and take a look. Flies well, seems very well modelled and the sounds are good. Having a virtual engineer makes operating it relatively straightforward from a systems viewpoint, so as long as you can start the engines and taxi the thing then he does the rest. The actual flying of it will definitely test the children of the magenta line (i.e. me) but I think if you brush up on tracking VORs etc and don't get too tricksy with attempting any overtly complex then you should be able to get it from A-B in one piece. Colour me impressed.

It does also have UNS-1 and GNS 530W variants if you want to feed that inner child of the magenta line, and will do RNAV approaches with either of those units installed (with the UNS being slightly more capable).

Yeah $15 USD for standard and Deluxe, Premium Deluxe it's $10, if you own it from 2020 or have the Aviators, it's a free claim.

I couldn't resist. I purchased last night the 2020 one (for which I have Premium Deluxe), and then I opened 2024 to get this one. It feels heavy, but not hard to fly. Maybe I'll need to tweak the controller curves to something I like better, but for the price I paid, no complaints so far. All I need now is some repaints (obviously in Avianca or Aerolíneas Argentinas colors) and lots of time

There does seem to be an art error, there's no windows (or window frames) on the outside starboard side of the cargo section.

I can't find any IRL examples of a 707-320 Combi/convertible with a cargo section that looks like that.

Plugged windows sure, but not missing completely.

How about this one?

Or this:

Maybe five windows missing compared to these, yet the model is in a whole different league from what went before.
It costs very little, nothing at all if, like me, you bought the first effort.
I am delighted and disinclined to look a gift horse in the mouth.

QUESTION: Does anyone know of a working GSX profile for this new Local Legend b707? One exists for the old one from AH but that one doesn’t really work from what I can see. TIA,

Or this:

Neither of those match the new model, it has zero windows there. Those ones have all their windows. They're also 707-100s, not 300s.

It's not a deal breaker, it's just seems strange. What did they base it on? I can't find anything online that matches it.

£9.39 ? Ker-ching!

That Air India livery is going to send me back to my childhood.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

https://rationalwiki.org

I downloaded this yesterday. How could I not at NZ$14.50 (GBP 6.30, USD $8.50). Can't even get a burger and fries for that these days.
Have only conducted 1 ground op so far in order to familiarise myself along with the extensive manual, the EFB and the Virtual flight engineer operation. It really is very slick and clever. The options for loading and controlling the CIVA INS unit are very good. The sounds are also quite immersive.
I just need to barter for some more time from 'She who must be obeyed' to take it for a full trial run.
For those who have it, are you using Simbrief or the onboard planner? Is there an accurate Simbrief profile for it? If so, I assume it was for V1. Any difference with V2?

Cheers
