No, it's for everyone.

And the A380 stream would probably be boring for any kids who aren't into aviation, or wanting to learn about the aircraft, it's not very exciting for the average person.

Ive got 16 years in flightplanning / Flight Ops / crewing and training delivery - same thing, I get told about flightplanning, slots, ftls and OPC/LPC'S from the kids. :)

Simbrief does OK with routes but alot of them are not "real world" For example this morning simbrief would of given me

NATEB GIVEM LONAM NOMKA ARMUT LAMSI PODET TAZ RODON LIMJA N732 PITAS PITA2J

When the actual real world routing is completly different. (I get it people dont have access to real world live stuff, but just because somone tells you simbrief routes are good, thats not true)

NATEB DCT ERLOT DCT ACAGE DCT TOPPA DCT DODEN DCT NEGIX DCT DINKU M867 XERUM DCT BAVAX DCT RADIZ/N0433F390 DCT DOL DCT NIVES DCT MONID DCT NAVSU DCT TAZ DCT RODON DCT LIMJA N732 PITAS PITAS2J

plus its impossible for simbrief to run "real world" long haul plans as they change due to the tracks and such like.

Not to mention, the alternates it uses are wrong, (it loves to give you EGLL for everthing). as are the ERA / ETP's as it cant work out what fire categories airports are BGBW and BGSF for example

anyways back to the 380 hype train please.

It’s a kids sim now, the kids love twitch.

The hype has started and it will be insufferable for the weeks ahead. Lots of twitch streamers who have never , nor ever will step a foot into an airline (as they wouldn’t pass the assessment centres for being weird) are going to tell us about ‘real world ops’ they will then fly the wrong type of aircraft to a destination that doesn’t operate on that day or that time of day using a simbrief route that isn’t valid, and the kids with tip money to watch this rubbish.

I despise twitch

Flight sim has never been as popular as it is today, partly because of these “kids”. And FYI, many of these streamers from over the years now fly in a right seat of an airliner, so that assessment centre comment is complete BS.

i give praise where its due and quite often.

I dont however like this new faze we have of getting teenagers to hype to death something. I remember what happened with the 350 that was hyped to death, then couldnt fly in a straight line for 6 weeks or so

Sure a couple of the streamers are ok, but most are clueless kids

How is this the fault of the teenagers? How is the fault of anyone hyping up a product that the developers then released a buggy product?

Are people seriously not allowed to get excited about stuff now?

I just wonder why some people get so worked up about it. I like my 350 and am looking forward to the 380.

Hope it releases soon.

Discord has fostered a mob clique that has been insufferable for a long time when it comes to flight simulation. Some of the "members" over on the Headwind page are just pure bred trolls. Best avoid.

Just ignore it then and do your own thing. The only reason I know these people exist is because people like you mention it.

Its not a "kids sim". Its whatever you get out of it on a personal level. Why cut off your nose to spite your face by looking at it through a flawed lens? Just enjoy flying yourself, I imagine thats why you purchased it in the first place.

I started as a kid 25 years ago with FS2000. It's good to have newcomers and it completely natural for kids or teenager to think/act ignorantly know it all (i for sure did). And also perfect to correct them/not really get bothered/ignore them. Same principle applies in a cafe/pub where the teenager behaviour is corrected by the "elders" /have drunk enough to have the experience.

And you of course were never one yourself. ;)

I’ve never seen a teenager or any ‘kids’ streaming MSFS.

But I’m also not looking for them. Only MSFS streamers I watch are adults.

That’s an exaggeration. I also don’t remember that happening.

Pulling up my launch flights on Volanta. Don’t see any weird issues flying straight.

maybe it’s one of those issues that didn’t effect everyone.

There’s a little label next to the route list on simbrief telling you where it’s from, the green labeled ones are allegedly real world. Should be bigger, it is hard to make out.

The ability to save and reload a flight, which I am assuming this will have(?), would be a massive feature upon the FBW version for me.

What I am not looking forward to is hours of test flights to make a PFPX profile for it for fuel-burn. A real shame Simbrief hasn't introduced more customisation and detailed planning options!

Have 7900XTX unopened waiting for a PC to built around it to fly this plane (have a 4K monitor so got it for the VRAM) as my first venture into MSFS (still using P3D for most things as my ageing hardware copes nicely with it and everything "just works" at the moment).
