  1. I'll be purchasing P3D for the first time and slowly moving away from FSX. It will take me a better part of a year to fully make the transition when factoring in the costs of my add-ons.
  2. Boy, the wife's gonna hate me! I've almost pulled the trigger on P3D a few times now, only to resist the temptation after figuring in the cost of transitioning my fleet. No excuse now. Time to find a side-hussle to pay for all of this.
  3. I think I've seen it go on sale via Aerosoft once, but at a small percentage. Memorial day is around the corner, maybe you'll get lucky. One of the reasons why I haven't switched to P3D yet because it's so cost prohibitive with all my add-ons.
  4. There's a trade off for everything. I don't run my sim at max settings, but pretty close to it and have a ton of addons. Very rarely do I dip below 30 FPS in the NGX regardless of the scenario. The 777 is a different story though. Run the same scenario with the 777 and my FPS will drop to around 25 - 27.
  5. I'm sure you can squeeze more out of it. I keep the FPS locked for smoothness.
  6. Also make sure you have the correct Microsoft Visuals installed.
  7. More than adequate. Are you thinking of OC'ing your CPU. Here are my specs: I5- 6600K OC'd 4.4 GHZ Nvidia GTX 960 4G 16GB DDR4 Windows 7, 64 bit FSX locked at 30 FPS.
  8. I don't think the tube liner market is saturated at all...in fact far from it. But I do think the recognition is there are some really great turbo props that have not been made and available at a study level.
  9. In my opinion, PMDG has no competition. Dovetail's dead to me until PMDG states otherwise.
  10. Second this. I personally have an I5 6600K and the performance between the I7 version is negligible at least in FSX/P3D.
  11. Jeez, I can't catch a break! I've had ###### poor timing on purchasing sceneries lately. Picked up Eagle County, Innsbruck and FTX Global about 3 weeks ago. At least now I can grab some others I've been looking at.
  12. Are you using any external pedals? I wouldn't suspect an error with the NGX, it must be something external.
  13. Actually just double checked, didn't pick it up. I forgot I went with Tropicalsim's SBGR instead. I'll need to pick up LatinVFRs LEBL version. Didn't realize this was the P3D forum either, just saw the quip about Barcelona and joined in on the conversation. Haven't made the switch yet to P3D yet, need to save more funds after just updating my PC.
  14. Wow! I hope that's not the case. Just bought Aerosoft's version Friday. I would rather a LatinVFR level airport, but I can't complain with Aerosoft's version. Their airport is true to the actual, at least from the last time I was there which was a little while now.
  15. Not sure you're aware that FSX's performance is purely CPU based. The graphics card will only give you a minimal performance boost. Your CPU for one is only 2 core versus the 4690k which has 4 cores. Not to mention your Pentium chip is almost a decades old technology versus the 4690K which came out only 3 years ago. Simple answer, you need to update your systems CPU and motherboard to see any kind of performance that your friend is getting.
  16. I just recently upgraded from an I7-950 OC'd to 4.2GHZ to a I5-6600K OC'd to 4.4GHZ. Definitely notice the difference. I'm able to run at higher settings and maintain a steady/smooth 30 FPS (locked) with my vid card only being a Strix GTX 960 w/4GB DDR5. It's worth the upgrade. I was also hesitant since the i7-950 is a decent and tough cpu, but if you really think about it, the technology is almost a decade old.
  17. Great video. Don't think the FO is overwhelmed at all, just intense focus, concentration and purposeful with her movements and responses. Probably also seems that way since the Captain is a seasoned veteran.
  18. I know I don't speak for everyone, but price really isn't a major factor for me. As long as the product developed is of a superior quality, I'm willing to pay for it.
  19. I support it, however not from Feelthere. Needs to be a PMDG level development, unless Feelthere steps up their game. I still fly their E-Jet series and from time to time their ERJ's. Something always felt like there was just something missing from the experience. Kind of interesting that FS2Crew never threw their support behind them and developed an add-on for these aircraft.
  20. I've had a space reserved in my bank account for a detailed and updated version of a 757 or 767 for a few years now. I am definitely not in the minority either and quite honestly I think PMDG recognizes that as well. I think either plane would be just as popular as their NGX, probably even more so. Doesn't matter anyway, we would be 3 - 5 years before those products were realized.
  21. Folks, just make sure "Gamma" is ON in either Nvidia Control Panel or in your NI settings. There's a known problem when gamma is set to OFF that causes freezes. I'll need to search on guru3d to post where I found that little tid bit of info, but it worked for me. Here's the post from GURU3D: 01-05-2016, 13:42 | posts: 13,429 | Location: England Be careful about turning AA - Gamma Correction off with this driver in the Global profile as there is a known issue with it that can cause system freezing and/or BSODs. This what happened for me but setting it back to On has fixed the issue completely for me. Other people, including Wagnard, have confirmed this issue. If you need to turn it off then I would personally recommend doing it on a per-game basis until NVIDIA fix this properly.
  22. I'm chiming in really late on this topic, but Ray absolutely deserves kudos for all the work he's done. It is very much appreciated.
  23. This very (robust) post is exactly why I love PMDG! Thanks for the explanation Robert!
  24. The Feelthere ERJ 135/145 was and is a pleasure to fly. A little challenging since those planes don't have an autothrottle, but fun none the less. The E-Jets series are great as well, not sure what all the fuss is about the quality though. Seems ok to me. It's definitely a step up from Level-D's aged 767 cockpit.
