  1. Definitely sounds like default P3D ATC with the Editvoicepack mod to speed up it's speech.
  2. FSUIPC, ActiveSky, Anything PMDG, FS2CREW, Chaseplane
  3. Check www.abm.com/careers, they provide aviation services at IAH. So does G2 Secure Staff www.g2securestaff.com.
  4. Certainly not the minority, I agree completely. Not very realistic trying to pilot a plane full of passengers solo.
  5. The QualityWings of the 757 days was a bit different than they are today. Remember their motto was "Complexity Simplified", curious how that has disappeared over the years. In fact, don't really think their 757 was all that bad, just overly simplified and missing some very much needed multi-crew support. Like you, I'm hoping this 787 lives up to the hype and gets some love from FS2Crew. Not the same flying solo.
  6. It's a must have IMHO! Thanks for all you do Bryan to make our hobby enjoyable.
  7. AS A330 only because I know FS2crew will make an addon for it. I'll still get the QW bird, but to me it won't be that enjoyable without a multicrew experience.
  8. FSX out of the box and P3Dv4 out of the box are two very different animals. You can clearly see the difference, but I understand what you're getting at. Anyway, I have since installed most of the addons I had in FSX with the exception of REX and P3D remains rock solid at 25-30 FPS. Even if there is a further degradation in FPS temporarily, you don't really notice since the Sim remains smooth. There in lies the major difference between FSX being 32bit and P3Dv4.
  9. Thanks John. I was actually shocked when I saw the colors of the twilight. In FSX you won't get that unless you have some texture addons.
  10. Really enjoying the move from FSX to P3Dv4. Add-ons used are AS2016, UTLIVE, T2G VHHH, PACSIM RCTP and PMDG's NGX. Not liking the clouds in the first shot, but other than that, not too shabby if I do say so myself.
  11. I sat on the fence for a very long time enjoying FSX with DX10 fixer. Finally made the leap over to P3Dv4 this past Monday and will not look back. The performance out of the box is just jaw dropping and honestly I feel there is no need for external tuners like John said in the first part of this topic. Other than the huge cost to transition, no regrets at all.
  12. Doubt that it will based on my experience with their 757. Their flight model is always great, but systems depth is left to be desired. I would say probably on par with Aerosoft aircraft. Just wish FS2crew would support QW. Seems to me that's the missing link for their aircraft in making the flight experience a bit more realistic. Just my opinion.
  13. Loving P3Dv4 so far. Testing out Aerosoft's CRJ with Flightbeam's KMSP. Taxiing off runway 4 after landing.
  14. Simbol, glad it's working out for you. Just took the plunge myself yesterday, transitioning from FSX to P3Dv4. I still have a ways to go in terms of transferring my add-ons, but certainly can see the differences already just using default.
  15. Quick flight from SLC to SFO showcasing Islandsim's KSLC and Flightbeam's Legacy KSFO (Holding out on the HD version until I switch to P3Dv4). Flying one of my favorite planes that I feel gets overlooked, the Feelthere E-175 in United Express colors. Slow Taxi out to 16L. Nice view of the mountains towards Lookout Peak. Lining up 16L with mountains on the left, Mount Aire and Mount Raymond. Farnsworth Peak and Nelson Peak over to the right while continuing to line up on 16L. After takeoff, right turn over the Great Salt Lake with a great view of Farnsworth Peak off the left wing. Antelope Island coming into view off the right wing. Final approach in KSFO runway 28L. Smoky landing 28L, right of center since I was too busy trying to get a good shot. Reversers, spoilers, full flaps deployed. Wasn't pretty, but we made it.
  16. Knowing PMDG a modern airliner is already in the works. Doubt you'll see any GA from them. The DC-6 is just very near and dear to RR and I'm sure a test bed for honing their craft so to say.
  17. Respectfully, as much as the FSX number is legion currently, the gap between P3D and FSX is widening. Even without the introduction of v4 because of the continued support from LM. I'm sure the cost to provide software for FSX and P3D pre-v4 while at least manageable, was still considerable. With the advent of v4, that gap has widened significantly making costs prohibitive to continue development for a piece of software that was released back in 2006. Only a minute number of developers can sustain that. I think it's wishful thinking to believe developers will continue with FSX. Only time will tell.
  18. MikeT said it best and completely agree. To me this announcement isn't a surprise as it was just a matter of time. Shouldn't be a big deal for a sim that's been around for as long as FSX has. The existing add on library available for FSX is vast enough to keep folks who aren't interested in either switching or just can't stomach the cost of transitioning very busy for a long time.
  19. Have to agree with you on this one. Incredibly realistic startup sounds. When I'm in my office at JFK, I probably hear 10 of these starting up throughout the day.
  20. I highly doubt Flightbeam would take such shortcuts. They have a pretty good reputation in the sim community and probably do not want to jeopardize that.
  21. Can't wait to dip my feet into P3D as a whole. I'm sure it will be a leap forward from my current FSX DX10 experience.
  22. David, are you using NVI to force AA into P3D in conjunction with P3D's internal AA setting?
  23. Say it ain't so! I love FT's E-Jet series.
  24. I truly think there is a place for FSW and I believe that place is introducing folks into the world of Flight Simulation that is our great hobby. For many of us hardcore simmers though, not so much and I'm ok with that. If FSW does nothing more but serve as an entry way into this hobby, then to me it's a success for all of us. Because the more people interested in Flight Simulation, the more this hobby will proliferate.
