  1. I use Delta's MAY13 pdf timetable for my routes. The M11 and M1F that currently fly the 777 routes will now be operated by the 77L/77F. But the M11 will still be on 757 flights over 3000 miles, 767, and 330 flights. I can't wait for ATL-JNB nonstop. I think my first flight will be LAX-ATL.So I voted "a bit of everything mentioned".
  2. 99% of the time I'm on the flight deck (or in the crew rest, galley, or lavatory if you want to know what I do during cruise). If I look at the exterior model, I just want my bird to look like the bird I'm flying and a clear livery of the airline I'm flying (Delta and partners). Other than that, I don't really care about how many grooves the tires have, the dirtyness around the lavatory service panel, or how long it takes for the spoilers to deploy after rejecting vs landing.
  3. The AVNCS FAN OVRD message is informing you that the avionics exhaust fan is operating in flight. The fan is automatically turned on if the cooling flow is below normal. No action is necessary. The outflow valve message is telling you that you need to ensure the valve is closed (or needs to be closed). Look up on the overhead panel and ensure the valve is closed. If it isn't, switch the pressurization system switch to MANUAL and close the valve. Insert a destination in the FMS or use the manual landing altitude selector on the overhead panel (on the right side near the middle).
  4. I think the purple EICAS screen is the result of the camera and not the actual screen. I don't have FS9 but I don't think it can be changed.
  5. I wouldn't really worry about a slight (+/-5 knots for less than a minute) excursion of the 250 kt rule. VNAV is good but it isn't perect. That's normal. You're accelerating to the enroute climb speed.
  6. How heavy are you? If you're really light, perhaps try derating the climb thrust. Some airlines have a speed deviation of plus or minus 5 knots that is considered acceptable.
  7. What was the EGT? It should be less than 200 degrees before starting the engines.
  8. Apparently he talked about the history of FS and the 777 is weeks away. Is that even possible?
  9. Look on the overhead panel right above the compass.
  10. The paint kits can only be used with Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Says that on their website,
  11. Your brakes were too hot or it's a service-time based failure. You have a fire in the main wheel well. Page 8.22 (194 in the QRH .pdf file) of the QRH (Quick Reference Handbook) will give you the correct procedure to follow. Basically, lower the landing gear and land at the nearest suitable airport.
  12. From what I've seen over on their forum, it takes a while for a bird to be born... My speculation is as early as late Q3 2013 to late Q2-early Q3 2014.
  13. Blurry textures mainly. That's pretty much it. But she isn't that bad looking. Just needs a little makeup here and there. Long live the Queen!
  14. The M11 and M1F are currently running my 330, 777, and other widebody routes. Once the 77L and 77F are released, those routes (excluding the 330 and others) will no longer be ran by the M11 and M1F. She'll still be in the air for the others.
  15. Dang it. Maybe I should check the forums more often...
  16. Include the 744/Y for me and I'll be set for a long while. By the way, I thin you have more than a "silight obsession" with the T7... :He He:
  17. I doubt it. I don't think it would make much business sense to just make your products free because they are old.
  18. There are already reviews on the J41. So if they give you the J41 for free, they are out $45. Doesn't seem really economical to me...
  19. I take it you are talking about the 777? I'm pretty sure that will happen.
  20. This thread may help you: http://forums1.avsim.net/topic/259532-fms-fonts-wont-display/.
  21. So they keep the thrust levers at idle and use the anti-ice switches to taxi? I can't see the engines providing enough thrust to move a heavy aircraft solely with anti-ice. I think it's the dispatcher in operations that provides the takeoff performance numbers and the crew just accepts those numbers and authorizes the downlink or inputs them manually,
  22. I thought you reduced thrust at 1,000 feet irregardless of flap setting. You accelerate up to 250 knots at 3000 feet... You would change the thrust reduction, acceleration altitude, and engine out acceleration height in the FMS if you are using VNAV during takeoff.
  23. Heck no. I take it he's younger than 30? I'll worry about that at a later time. Name a few 21 year olds that are mentally prepared for anything. Visit the Grand Canyon and go fly over northern Canada. Well the 77L is capable of ATL-JNB so I think there will be time to think of the meaning of life. Maybe. Blasphemy!
  24. If you are performing a CAT II, CAT III, or maintenance verification landing, automatic approach and landing is required. If you are performing a visual, CAT I ILS, or ILS-backed approach, the autopilot must be disconnected prior to 50 feet below the DH (decision height)/MDA (minimum descent altitude). These figures can be found on your approach plates.
