  1. I have a low end system and have never lost the G1000 PFD or MFD. I have an old AMD 7700 video card, 16 GB memory and Ryzen 5 CPU. Original install with patches. I find it hard to understand the problems many people are having. Just 1 livery addon for the King Air.
  2. I was flying from Naples FL to Naval Air Station Pensacola FL after most of hurricane Sally passed through and got into winds in excess of 45 MPH and had to divert to KLRF. I was flying King Air with live weather. Wind speeds were estimated by a weather app at the time of flight. VERY bumpy ride but no aircraft stress to terminate MSFS.
  3. You are 100% correct. I have spent years (42) in software amd IT and this is a solid platform to build from. I believe the Asobo team have and are doing a great job!!
  4. Perhaps, some of these suggestions might help. They did for me!
  5. Follow these guidelines and it will save you days of frustration and trial and error: If you encounter issues trying to run Microsoft Flight Simulator on your PC, please use the following methods in the order in which they are presented. Before doing anything else: Download & Install the Xbox app from this page: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/pc-games Reboot your computer If the problem persists: (Re) Install Xbox Identity Provider from here: https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/p/xbox-identity-provider/9wzdncrd1hkw Make sure the Xbox Services are running automatically. In the Windows search bar, type "Services" Select "Services" Scroll down to the bottom. Double-click on each entry for Xbox and make sure none of those services are disabled or set to manual. Set everything to "Automatic". INVESTIGATE Before attempting the troubleshooting steps below, we invite you to investigate the likely cause of the crash. Start your PC in Safe Mode with Networking This step will help identify if the issues lie with the hardware or software: if the sim doesn't start in safe mode, it is likely a problem with the hardware (for instance: corrupted drivers or overclocking) but if the sim runs normally in safe mode, it's likely a problem with a program (antivirus/firewalls, conflicts). Please refer to this article from the Microsoft help-center for detailed instructions: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10 Once you have found the likely cause of the problem, proceed with the troubleshooting. Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements Please ensure that your Windows 10 version is 1909 or higher and that your system is fully updated. Make sure Windows is up to date: Select Start , then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates. For more information/troubleshooting, see: Update Windows 10 Make sure all the updates in the Microsoft Store are installed, especially Gaming Services and Xbox Companion app. In the top right-hand side corner of the Microsoft Store, click on the Arrow icon or the three-dot menu > Downloads and updates. Then click "Get updates" > Update all Note: You can turn on automatic updates in the Microsoft Store to make sure you won't miss future updates. Select the Start screen, then select Microsoft Store In Microsoft Store at the upper right, select the account menu (the three dots) and then select Settings. Under App updates, set Update apps automatically to On. Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ programs Press the Windows Key + R, type "appwiz.cpl" and then press Enter. Locate the Microsoft Visual C++ programs in the list. Select each entry and then click Uninstall. Download a fresh copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime from here and then install it. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and updates for windows Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause crashes at start-up. We recommend that when trying this step that you completely remove your old drivers before updating to the latest versions. To remove your old drivers and then update to the latest: Press the Windows Key Type Add or Remove Program Scroll down the list and find your graphics driver Click the driver once and select uninstall. Confirm this by clicking Uninstall again. Once complete reboot Windows Download the latest drivers from here: Nvidia : https://www.geforce.com/drivers AMD : http://support.amd.com/ Install to the latest driver and then reboot your PC again Use Game Mode When you’re playing games on Windows 10, Game Mode makes gaming your PC’s top priority, so you get the best possible game performance. 6. I never leave an aircraft at an airport, I always go from there to my next point. Actually depends upon how much of my "retirement" time I have spent that day (or evening) on MSFS. So routes are determined on the "fly" and depends upon what airports I have not been at within a 180 degree view (I don't like to double back). Because I have a low-end system I am primarily using the C172S and fly either VFR/IFR with or without AP. I would like to use the King Air more but the AP frustration makes it difficult. If I use the King Air I keep next arrival point within 300-400 miles and primarily VFR. BUT when the patches arrive for AP I will then upgrade my system and do more with the larger aircraft (particularly the King Air).
  7. I agree with your comments. I have a low end system, yes I get a warning on startup that my system does not meet minimum standards. I still find MSFS amazing compared to the effort (and dollars) I had to put into FSX and do not get the visual enjoyment that I get from MSFS.I do have problems (CTD, startup, autopilot, etc) but I expect that with my system and the first release of MSFS. Over time I am sure most of the issues will be resolved. I am enjoying it in spite of problems. MS thanks for the release at this time.
  8. This "Xbox Identity Provider" did NOT fix the problem, still stuck on Press Any Key to Start.
  9. This "Xbox Identity Provider" did NOT fix the problem, still stuck on Press Any Key to Start.

  10. My issue with "Press any key to start" was solved when I made sure I had the Xbox Identity Provider. You can get it from the Store. It does not seem to go through a formal install but once I downloaded my startup works. I also earlier had to make sure that the "3" Xbox services were there (since I deleted them long ago).
  11. I initially tried by installing the CH Control Manager and got the dreaded "blue screen of death", which meant a safe boot and uninstall it before I could get a clean boot. My Windows 10 has all the latest updates as well.
  12. I have the same problem with both my CH yoke and pedals.
  13. Thanks Matt, your guidance was very helpful. I am in Texas and running 240 Mbps and 1 1/2 hours into download and about 50% done.
  14. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Bob Werab - San Antonio
  15. My son and I went up in that plane last summer outside of San Antonio. RIP to crew and passengers.
  16. I setup a flight plan to fly IFR (VOR-VOR) from KSAV to KCLT using the CaptSim C130 autopilot. I get about 2/3 of the way there and ATC starts giving me instructions that turn me around 180 degrees!! I have tried this several times and got the same results.I have then cancelled IFR and flown VFR with no problems into KCLT, same flight plan. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Maybe it is just me..... Bob
  17. Resetdll did not work for me, so....I installed using compatibility mode (Vista), uninstalled FSX only (not Acceleration), reinstalled FSX (Disk 1 & 2 only), prompted for license key and tested that it worked. I then installed Acceleration, it did not ask for license key. I did the following Regedit, rebooted, restarted FSX and everything worked fine. This was after a factory reset "uninstalled" most of my programs (apps). Okay. It seems like this did the trick: 1. run regedit (Windowskey +R) 2. Expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTRO L\CLASS\{4D36E967- E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 3. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side. 4. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr and/or remove any other settings and then click OK. 5. Close Registry Editor 6. Start FSX/Accel and you should get the registration wizard. The next time you launch FSX, you'll have the prompt to enter the ACCELERATION product key. Closed/Opened a few times, and all seems well.

  19. I do not like the new format at all. It is very poorly laid out and very ineffective to view.
  20. He has flown in/out of both of those airfields more than once, he knows (or should know) the difference between the smaller runway and a taxiway.
