i dont understand whats the big hate for steve ballmer. sure he was outrageous and probably made some bad decisions but as a ceo he made the company profitable. in-fact if you look, microsoft has been extremely profitable under his belt even tho apple/ google took some of the big chunks out of their market share.

FYI i dont have the software so im only saying what i been reading on the forums. my information could be very well wrong from what i have read you can def download user created ones. infact the community really tries hard to create content for AI. fortunatly there was a major bug with the 64 bit version of the software and it seams like it has just been recently fixed.( software has been released for more than 5 months now) one big problem is that there is only one person working on the software. another problem is there was few airplanes but i think there has been alot of community donations for airplane so it should be comprehensive. as far as different airlines go im not too sure how that works. i would drop by the forums and see for myself rather take my word

although world traffic does add AI to xplane its still not complete. for example no interactions with ATC and it does take a good ammount of work to get it set up. however i think within a year or 2 we will have a great AI for xplane

could it be that somehow you changed a setting while making correction to commands. can you change your view using the menu?

i hope thats actually not the case. like any other guy i love a new version to be released but i feel like in the past 6 months xplane has finally attracted alot of eyes to it. im hoping developers see this and start making adons and in a year or 2 we will have as many addons as fsx. releasing a new version while slowly the 3rd party developers are getting on board would probably not be a good idea.

i can answer some of your questions. im sure others with better knowledge will chime in. 1- there are many detailed airports included in xplane. i think most made by aerosoft 2- there are some great tubeliners. one i can think of is the airbus 320 neo, another is is the flight factor 757. IXEG 737 is coming up and everyone agrees that this plane will beat PMDG in terms of detail. 3- xplane does run in linux. however some of the addons like skymaxpro do not run in linux. your probably better of sticking with windows/ mac my information might not be 100% correct so if any mistakes someone plz correct me

i dont think you be able to run everything on extreme settings BUT i think you will def get great results. i think upgrading your video card would be the first choice and then maybe some ram?

im honestly surprised no one has made an addon that could make it more simple to do this. im learning programming now but if i knew how to i would buy a device like the leap motion and you could use that to manipulate dials. i think it would give a cool look feeling to the sim

there is page dedicated on steam for xplane. the rumors are that it will come out in 2014 first quarter but no one can be sure of that. this is the only way you can download it .(besides the illegal methods)

it takes approx 5 minutes for a plane in gta 5 to go from one end point of a map the the other point. flight simulator covers the entire world

well there seams to be some good news. someone from steam contacted austin asking him if the xplane on steam account was actually from LR. here is his answer Just got this email assuaging any fears! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Austin Meyer 6:47 PM (3 minutes ago) to me marty is with me, and we are evaluating steam for distro, yes you can post this on the forum so nobody is wondering about validity of course, even if we get the green light, there is no guarantee that we will move forwards, since we do not know if steam can handle a 70-gig download austin so lets hope it does get green lit and steam would host the game

make sure you install the newest update on v1.1. really improves performence on skymax. no word on ai or atc. however avsim might sit down with LR soon for an interview and one question that was asked constently was about ai and atc. im sure they will address and say what their plan for releasing is
