New Aerofly FS 2 update 2.0.1EA3.30 is live
I have so far 4 flight sims. The only way I would buy this one is by trying it. If I like what I see I will buy it. What do they have to lose? The more people that try it the more they will talk about it so more people will buy it.

Aerosoft Malaga X released
It is one of the airports everybody was expecting. See the traffic on Ivao/Vatsim increasing 10times. Hope Akesoft release Sevilla soon so we have lots of traffic in Andalucia.

Online ATC and FO talking...
Funny thing I get confused while flying online. Sometimes doing check lists I press PTT by mistake so everyone is listening to me talking to FS2crew

Online ATC and FO talking...
Skeller is right. Its just better press key-pause FO , press again unpause. Besides you might want to do something more urgent first like setting heading or altitude.

Agree with Egbert. Thanks byork for considering our feedback.

I second that. I fly on Ivao so a keypress to pause the FO as soon as you hear your call sign would be a good idea.

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
I would say between 5 and 8 fps although he is working on improving that as well. I still find using the mouse much more usefull.

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
I have the Leap Motion but not fully functional on my favourite aircraft,PMDG, although I know Dan is working on it. Mind you, it takes a toll on fps. I am still with my DK2. I will wait until CV2 wich I am sure will be mind blowing. I would recommend approaches like Madeira, Kai Tak, rwy 22 lfmn or Samos. You will find it has never been so easy to perform those landings. Take a seat on the 777 and you really feel the height. Regarding programming the fmc, you can use the zoom option. I have done a few flights on Ivao and let me tell you the immersion is amazing. Advice between curved 34" and UHD ~40"
Melchor replied to nooon's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI know you are asking about screens but have you ever considered virtual reality? Oculus or Vive?

Austin's thoughts on Oculus (Video)
The Guy asking the questionssays Flyinside has clunky interface. Made me laugh, thats one of the biggest complains people get about X-Plane. Then Austin says he can see his hands. Well, Flyinside supports Leapmotion so you can see and interact with your hans. Flyinside has virtual windows which obviously he hasnt tried yet. Thirdly, even with my dk2 and P3d and the pmdg 737 I can complete whole flights on Ivao. So, yes you can read the instuments, maybe not in all planes. I like xplane and hope they get support for VR. Just dont like the way they talk about such a good product like Flyinside

Austin's thoughts on Oculus (Video)
We he doesnt very consistent with his owm words. On this video, minute 5.50 he says its ######ing amazing. Come Austin just because you havent done it with Xplane you dont have to put others down. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnYz9LpTTus

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
You mean Vive, dont you?

Thinking of switching
After the release of IXEG I am considering switching to X-Plane. Problem is that I only fly on virtual reality which is supported by Flyinside on FSX/P3D. Does XP have any plans to support VR? It would be amazing to be inside the cockpit of the IXEG 737.

DTG Flight School: certainly NOT not for us simmers
I agree with you that everybody is entitled to their opinion as long as it comes from respect. I am up for positive criticism. Things that we will like to see or things we think can be improved. Good thing Martin is here to listen to us. I just dont want other people to interfere with this positive communication.

DTG Flight School: certainly NOT not for us simmers
I agree, what a rude and immature post. Anyway, you can not base your prediction on just a few Youtube comments. Firstly. What bothers you so much about a new platform?.Its a good thing in my opinion. More competion it means they will strive to improve. But who are those competitors that will start from scratch? Let us know as you seem to have valuable information. Secondly. I am sick of reading uninformed, discouraging, negative comments not only on the sim community but almost on any forum I read about something that I am interested. An example would be Virtual Reality. Now we have two big companies that are developing vr headsets and competing. I have an Oculus DK2 and use it for simming. I am really ecxited about VR and I am sure its going to succed and improve in the future. What do you read in forums amd Youtube videos? Oh thats a gimmik, its going to fail, I can see the pixels, the Feel of View is not good enough, etc... It seems to me that people are too demanding. They want everything to be perfect from day one. It looks like people who have never achieved anything in life love to see people who have vision and work hard for what they are passionate about fail. They feel important criticising from their computer the work of others who work hard for what they believe in. There are also wars or fanboyism as they call it. If I have invested on something then yours is ###### and is not going to succed. I invested on P3D and I am quite happy with it. i have FSX steam as a back up. I have tried X Plane. I like some more than the others but I am always open to something new. I preordered DTG Flight School to see what it is like. It looks good to me.I will buy the DTG full simulator. I know that from day one it is not going to be perfect. I understand that. I have been through that. I can still use my other simulators for things that are not yet developed on the new one. Sorry about the rant but its something I need to take out of my chest.

PMDG 777 Full Flight Tutorial [SPANISH | CASTELLANO]
Hola Jaime Your tutorial is excellent. What I really like is that you explain in detail every step you take. Your background as student of flight engineering is extremely valuable and makes understand the ins and outs of this plane. What a treat for Spanish speakers. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

I was so ready to enjoy my Oculus Rift CV1 with Prepar3D
Hopefully DTG listen to us and consider VR as the future. They are still reticent to believe VR is going to succed. With their improved engine and 64bits VR is going to be better. They said they will be open to developers so hopefully Flyinside can integrate it into DTG flight Simulator. Nott everyone flies the PMDG. I would say if you fly GA aircrafts on vfr its just perfect.

I was so ready to enjoy my Oculus Rift CV1 with Prepar3D
Not really, as the developer of Flyinside made improvements for Prepar3d so it runs on high fps on VR similar to what I get before I plug the rift. I always adjust my settings to make sure I have at least 40 fps. In a few days when I have time I will upload another video where I can show my settings and fps on VR.

I was so ready to enjoy my Oculus Rift CV1 with Prepar3D
I think VR is still quite enjoyable although you have to compromise on settings. The sense of presence and immersions is worth the change from a flat screen to VR. Even with the low resolution I prefer to fly with my DK2 than with a flat screen. I get about 40 fps with PMDG with add on airports and still very smooth. I think it depends on your expectations. Just recorded a couple of videos. One is a landing at Kai Tak and another for those who wonder how you see the world through one of the lenses. To be honest the video doesnt do any justice to the real experience but you can get an idea of what VR is. We have to take into account that for a clear vision you need to hit the sweet spot which is difficult as I am holding my camera on one hand and the rift on the other. Secondly it is a DK2 which is a development kit. With the commercial version, aka CV1, the resolution is much better. Besides that flickering you see when looking outside doesnt really happen when you are wearing the googles. When you are looking through both lenses you get a sense of depth and presence. Your field of vision is completed surrounded which increases the immersion and makes you feel you are inside the cockpit. It is specially useful for circle to land approaches. I will not deny that it is still a long way to go but things are progressing fast. Make sure you watch the video on high resolution. Flyinside applied a technique called Asynchronous Time Warp which although you acnt reach 90 fps with the simulator you still have a smooth experience

will VR replace home cockpits?
I could go on and on about why VR is the future of simming but I am convinced that in 5 years most of us will be flying on VR.

No wonder....I would do the same if I was him.

What's your day job?
I am cabin crew for Qantas Uk. Whenever I get a chance, I seat on the flight deck for landing at Heathrow or Dubai while listen to ATC on the A380. Its amazing how close the experience is when flying on Ivao.

DTG: The dawn of a new sim (and the death of the old) ?
Is DTG considering support for Oculus Rift? I think that would be great as it is the future of flight simmulation.
