I have normal flight s with the Phenom 100 and everything tends to be fine until I begin my decent. For some reason I've been getting an alarm tone every 3-5 seconds (well, more like the 'beep' tone that plays when you fire up the Prodigy) that doesn't stop until I land. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why!?!? IT's very frustrating as I'm sure it's something I'm missing and can't be too serious as I'm able to land normally anyway. Unfortunately, I don't have video to help explain this issue. I don't know what it is and hoping someone else has experienced that same tone and can help me fix it. I do fly the Phenom with FSCaptain engaged but, I'm pretty sure it's not FSCaptain. Any help would be great. Thanks

Writer and producer - working on my second screen play now. Which works well for my flight sim hobby as I'm almost always flying while I'm writing. In an earlier life, I was a Business Director in the hospitality field helping companies with training and development and marketing strategies. Was always an avid simmer and I love sports games (Madden and The Show are still favs). I'm and Aquarian and I like long walks in the park in the fall. :wink:

I haven't gotten that message from PMDG but, I have gotten it from Carenado in the past. They were very cool about it and extended my activation(s) when I contacted their support team. Hopefully, it will be as easy for you.

I have Key West and San Diego. Both are great but, the San Diego (KSAN) is really tough on my system. Flying the PMDG (or even the A320) out of that airport slows my FPS drastically. Flying into KSAN usually causes a OM for me. Can't really figure out why only KSAN but it's unusable on my rig. Key West is fine though.

Having a problem with Carenado Phenom 300 not updating latest Navigraph Airac. When I load the plane the Navigraph update window displays but, stays at 0% Not sure why this is happening because I have the Phenom 100 as well and the update loaded just fine with it. Additionally, no navigational data will load into the 300 (not even the default) making it useless. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, how did you fix it? Does anyone know what folder the Phenom pulls it's nav data from? I'm thinking maybe I can update manually? Help....

I have both and, if I had to keep just one, I'd go with Majestic just because I have had some issues with QW RJ (maybe just my set-up but that's my experience). Indeed the QW RJ has a beautiful VC but the Majestic does too and is more stable on my rig. I think the VC on QW is causing FPS downgrades.

Just trying to decide which one to add to the hangar. I'm familiar with Carenado products (Phenom 100 & 300) but I don't have a RealAir add-on yet. Anybody own either C90 GTX and/or Turbine Duke V2? What do you think of them?

I've tried to OC the 4790 all the way up to 5.0 but I have only been able to keep it stable at 4.6 which works fine for FSX. I'm not running at fully maxed settings but most are and I'm getting about 30-35 FPS on the ground, approach and landing. I'm happy with the upgrade - not perfect but good enough for simming...

MickeyJ is right, you're going to have to buy the regions to get them work. I'd offer, if you are dead set on PAHO Homer (with the Alaska region) you really should consider PAJN Juneau International. The scenery is beautiful and the approaches to the airport are challenging but fun.

Have to admit, after being apprehensive about the Window 10 update for my FSX rig, I finally took the plunge (full disclosure; I had to wipe my drive anyway due to my constant tinkering with FSX files). All and all, while there were some minor issues with some add-ons (mostly with EZ-Dok), the reinstall went well and FSX:SE is working better with Windows 10 than it did with Windows 7. I'm not a FPS hawk, I just want the sim to be smooth and it is under the guide of Windows 10. As others have reported here, seems 10 uses VAS more efficiently as I haven't run into a OOM yet (knocking on wood) after about a months use. You don't seem to have very many add-ons so I think you will be satisfied with the upgrade.

Can't add much to what has already been said; the PMDG is, by far, a more immersive flying experience than the Aerosoft Airbus. I'm not a real life pilot so I can't speak on the realism of each plane. However, I would say that the PMDG just feels and plays like a more realistic simulator. IMHO I think the Aerosoft is considerably easier to set-up and get going than the PMDG which does two things: 1) Airbus is my commercial jet of choice when I just want to get up in the air for quick flight. 2) PMDG feels more realistic than anything else on the market because it takes more preparation and pre/in-flight planning (at least to do it right). Airbus is more "fun" to fly while the PMDG is a more "realistic" sim. Because of those truths, both are MUST HAVES in a commercial flyers hanger. Both are worth the $$$

Still trying to figure out what happened to the VC in FSX but I did add the VC panels to my aircraft.cfg files and all seems to be good. I'm starting to think I like tinkering around FSX more than I like actually simming... I definitely spend more time at it. Cheers

Ahhh, yes! I have noticed the reference altitudes on the approach charts. Been flying ILS so much I haven't even thought about them for visual. That is very helpful! Thanks a bunch! I think EZ-Dok somehow deleted the Virtual Cockpit camera from my Cameras.cfg file. Is there a way to replace the Virtual Cockpit camera in the Cameras.cfg file without having to reinstall FSX completely? If so, does anyone have the format for original VC camera? Thanks all!

I purchased that add-on but, I can't use it as it OOM's everytime. 3.2 VAS with PMDG is awesome but I wonder if part of that is due to Prepar3D algorithm? Just upgraded to Windows 10 and FSX:SE seems to be running more smoothly. Going to try it again. Thanks for posting...

Been simming for sometime but, I mainly stick to ILS landings and when I do visual approaches it's usually to airports I'm familiar will. I run into problems on visual approaches and landings at airports I'm less familiar with. Obviously, ATC will guide me to a certain flight level but once the approval is given for landing I'm on my own. Don't really have problems lining up with the runway but, I always have issues with altitude. Question; is there a standard way to use the A/P (VNAV) on visual approaches? Just to help with altitude? I know about the FPM calculations but is that what your guys/gals do? Or, do you really just fly it by hand? If so, do you practice approaches and landings at particular airports you plan to fly to? If you're truly able to "wing it" what helpful advice can you give? Is it just practice, practice and more practice? What works for you?

Trying to figure out which settings I should be using with FSUIPC. Particularly, I purchased FSUIPC to help with strange weather affects on airplanes in REX Essential + OD. Not sure if I've been successful with FSUIPC and REX as I'm still getting strange thrust issues during climb and cruise. Read some turn off the weather in FSUIPC and others don't... What are you guys doing with those settings? Thanks
