  1. Even though the Asobo one is coming me and my friends were really looking forward to the Blackbird/Milviz ATR because we knew it would be top notch. Oh well. The modding scene in MSFS has been impressive, though I would prefer my ATR study level/high fidelity in one package. We'll have to see what happens in March.
  2. I checked the page and its up. Downloaded too. https://carenado.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046625614-Installing-Carenado-aircraft-in-P3Dv5 That should help.
  3. Hey everyone, had an issue recently with my Thrustmaster Airbus TCA joystick where the rudder axis would randomly flutter in any sim and it became an annoyance, especially when landing (320, 310, 737). I tried calibration but those fixes were temporary. I got so frustrated with my otherwise great hardware that I did a youtube search. A guy by the name of Keegz found the cause of the issue and by golly, it worked! Now some dissasembly is required but the result was instant for me. Can't believe something so simple made it past Thrustmaster. I want to leave the video linked here for future reference so that others don't think their TCA isn't worth it anymore.
  4. I bought it when P3D V4 came out (2017) and the installer did not recognize V4 so it could not be activated. I contacted support at that time who said they would work on a V4 compatible version. That didn't happen and as Bob says: The website, forum and email are desolate. As sometimes happens in our community, the developer(s) probably got caught up with life changes, moved on to something else or may well even be deceased. We don't know so its best to leave the SDG stuff alone, it would be throwing money away.
  5. No my friend, name calling would be if I said that you were being tribal, I merely stated that calling the other sim a toy would make us (the P3D users) look tribal to those outside of the Prepar3d group. I apologize if there was any confusion there. Thank you for the upvote by the way, hope everything is good on your end.
  6. I've used Prepar3d from V2.5 to 5.3 and am very much excited for what V6 will do. However these "toy" sentiments about the other sim in November/December 2022 is just plain wrong. I can load up my PMDG 737 serviced by GSX at Flytampa KBOS, fly on Vatsim with AIG model matching down to LatinVFR following all procedures in the other sim just the same as I do in P3D 5.3. Is it missing some features like proper weather radar? Yes. Your other points about updates I can understand, but that's the nature of most software in 2022 and we're not going back unfortunately. I brought this up because repeating our opinion of the other sim when it launched back in 2020 here in 2022 following the strides it made (especially in the last 6 months) makes us look disingenuous and tribal. The gap between the other sim and P3D is shrinking considerably however LM may well regain the edge again with their next release. The good news is all the excitement Microsoft stirred up may have the more professional users who just returned to flight sim seeking something a higher fidelity sim may end up looking at LM's next gen sim when it launches. We all win in the end so I wouldn't feel animosity to the guys having fun in Camp Microsoft/Asobo.
  7. It did for Ace Combat 7 when it was released in 2019 so yes.
  8. If at most it supports V5.x aircraft and airports that use the xml addon folder format that would be great for me. That said, I think DCS is going to have serious competition in 2023 from what we're seeing here.
  9. If you prefer the AWD version, go in content manager and delete the Asobo Juliana TNCM.
  10. On the 1TB gaming SSD MSFS uses 559GB (Fenix, PMDG, FBW, Headwind with their liveries and a whole lot of sceneries free and paid) and AIG installed on another drive uses 46GB. Definitely going to pick up a 2TB SSD in the coming months.
  11. Well these two alone make this fantastic. Thanks FSDT!
  12. Try a stress utility like furmark. (https://geeks3d.com/furmark/) it may give useful insight if it is the card.
  13. Not if its been less than a few hours.
  14. I would also say check that your power supply fan is running as well. I had the issue a few years ago where the PC would restart if it ran any graphic intensive application and I found on observation that the power supply fan had stopped working. I got it replaced and it was smooth sailing since.
  15. Thank you for clarifying and we appreciate developers like you guys who did your best to get our favorite addons in the new sim despite the limitations and challenges it presented you.
  16. Seems Leonardo may well be the first one to get this done for their aircraft in MSFS. Can't wait to see it in action.
  17. That's the thing, outside of Orbx, Flightbeam, Fsdreamteam and Flytampa and a few others, most developers did the bare minimum to be compatible. This sometimes meant only recognizing the V5 registry entry but still placing year 2013 fsx compiled bgl and mdl files (and not using the xml install format). Prepar3d's backwards compatibility was also its detriment as many took the easy way out which was a huge disservice to the platform. Props to iFly and I wish them success across all platforms they develop for.
  18. Nice, its products like this that really show what V5 is capable of.
  19. Reminds of the ballute heat shield systems in the anime Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
  20. I wouldn't call it madness, just anticipation. Since June I've been waiting for 5.4 to drop so I could install it on my freshly reinstalled rig. But by September, nine months after 5.3 release and given what was happening with the other big two, I accepted that the 5.x branch was done and any work on it was likely transferred to the 6.x branch. That said, the gap between 3.4 and 4.0, then 4.5 and 5.0 tells me November this year to May next year would be the typical release window. But like you, I keep checking these and the prepar3d forums ever so often just to make sure when the homepage updates, I'll be there to scope it out.
  21. Then Lockheed would acquire it and create the new true to life Land, Sea and Air training software platform named Deploy3d™ 2030 with backwards compatibility to MSFS addons.
  22. That has been voiced by several members on the official FSLabs forums. The 320 market in MSFS is saturated, but a nice long haul A330 will sell like mad. I personally think the A320 MSFS development was started first since it holds the fundamental code they use (like PMDG did with the 73) and FSL implements their code conversion successes to the 330. But overall, the 330 or Concorde should be the first out if they are seeking success in this generation of flight simming.
  23. Now I demand a Quagmire model that says "Alright!".
  24. We'll see about it, FSDG's TLPC did well for me in Prepar3d V5 and now MSFS. SLH's TFFR is beautiful and I don't see myself changing. Caribbean wise I'd like to see them bring over TKPK to complete my collection. Otherwise KMCO and LFPG would grab my interest. Truth is, in their absence, other devs have stepped in during P3D V5 and MSFS and given us some pretty decent renditions (TLPC, TFFR, VHHH, EDDM ). I'm glad their back but I sincerley hope they've upped their game because some indies out there have risen up to give them a run for their money.
  25. That and the Milviz , sorry, Blackbird Simulations one definitely. Gonna get some LIAT, Caribbean Airlines and Air Caraibes repaints to give the Caribbean some love.
