  1. A remembrance to one of my favourite TV-series in the '80s was Magnum PI, a privat investigator with his red Ferrari living on the propetry of Robin Masters and managed by Mr. Higging guarded by 2 Dobermans Zeus and Apollo. For MSFS is a remake modelled by Spinoza and is fine integrated in the wonderful Hawaii scenery and located at the eastern shore of Island Oahu. Hereby an impression:

  5. Hi, I'm after a really high quality scenery for X-Plane, and was very impressed by the screenshots I've seen of RS Oahu. I am using X-Plane 9 on my MacBook Pro at the moment (it's not powerful enough to run v10 smoothly), and don't have all of the world scenery discs installed (to save HDD space). If I buy and download Oahu, do I need the world scenery region installed for that area? I'm also looking at the new Carenado Caravan in envy - do you think these two would go well together? Thanks!

  7. Hello,A few screens of my current work in project, buildings for Oahu.Real scenery made a really nice addon for this island, you can have a look at avsim review there http://www.avsim.com/pages/1211/RealScenery/Oahu.htmlYou may know that we can generate xplane scenery files from open street map data, the problem for Oahu is that there is nearly no osm buildings data there.I recently managed to found some governmental cadastral data then converted it to a file format that osm2xp can read. It's far from perfect (no height data , some parts of the island are empty), but it's a very good starting base.A few screens with fraps fps counter so you can see the performance impact.I'm using totaly insane number of objects, with a lod of 85000.85000 is a totaly crazy setting, a "normal" one would be something like 40000, i just used this setting to make those screens, so the fps loss should be smaller with "normal" settings. Please keep in mind that textures can be easily customized, i'm using my basic texture set which is made with south of France in mind.before---afterbefore---afterbefore---afterbefore---afterbefore---afterA few more random screens:screenshot1 screenshot2 screenshot3 screenshot4screenshot5 screenshot6 screenshot7 screenshot8screenshot9 screenshot10 screenshot11 screenshot12 screenshot13 screenshot14 screenshot15 screenshot16screenshot17 screenshot18 screenshot19I'm gonna work on the data to add height info, now if people are interested working on this area, i think it would be nice to make some 3D models for the skycrappers.I think this area is perfect for a nice community work , it's a small area , there's a nice photoreal scenery for it, and we now have some buildings data to fill the island.Ben
  8. Since this is one of my favorite areas to fly around, I wanted to know if there's any payware or freeware scenery that covers the entire Hawaii Islands? I know Frede has done an excellent job with freeware airports that cover a lot of this area, but I would like to make this area complete as possible. If there are any photoscenery available, I'd love to know about it. I can't really find anything out there that will make flying this area more visually enjoyable.
  9. Hey Everyone! We're going back to Hawaii! We'll be flying around the Big Island & Maui in Stearmans, Cubs, or Icon's! We'll be exploring some of Hawaii and doing a hamburger run from Upolu. 10. Hey Everyone, We had a decent turnout last night with the Hawaii Stearman group flight with about 10-12 total throughout the flight. We actually had a few people join who I didn't know before the event. After we finished the Stearman Flight, we did some cub landing challenges and a warbird race down the Skeena River in B.C. This got me thinking, we could do several group flights in one night with the same people, but with a little of something everyone likes. My friend Coast has posted a disscussion topic on what type of events the MS Flight flyers would like to see. http://msflights.net/forum/showthread.php?594-Request-for-input-into-what-you-would-like-to-see-in-future-MS-Flight-events You can either post your ideas there or on this topic on Avsim. I do believe that most of our upcoming events will take place in the Hawaii and Alaska expansion packs and will feature any available aircraft, and several events that will require repaints. So, feel free to post your ideas of what you'd like to see. Lastly, the most important thing about these events is that we'll have to promote them ourselves, and not rely on Kitty from Microsoft Flight. F50ACE
  11. I have downloaded the 3 Hawaiian Airport packages by George Keogh here and they are amazing quality, however Package 2 crashes P3D v4 whenever it loads up, and I'm thinking that it has to do with some old FS9 models being used. The problem is I don't know exactly which files to remove/disable in order to fix this. Package 2 adds airports to Oahu. It could be using some FS9 ship models in that area. Does anyone know the quickest and most efficient way to see exactly which files are incompatible with P3D v4 so that we can remove them and fly the sim again? For anyone that hasn't done so, and loves flying in the Hawaiian region, this package is a must have. Simply beautiful scenery.
  12. Hey Guys My friend Robolito just posted the date for a Stearman tour of the Big Island. Default paints are required. Here's the link to the event with waypoints and the date and time. http://msflights.net/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=125 If we get a big turnout then we'll move on to bigger events. Flyers can join us on the msflights.net TeamSpeak Server at ks.jmainguy.com. ACE

  17. Hey Everyone, We are going to start a 3-part Hawaii airport hop and explore the Hawaiian Islands in the process. The first leg will start in Kauai and go to Oahu. The starting airport will be Barking Sands(PHBK) Time: Sunday 8-11pm EST UTC-5:00 Place: Hawaiian Islands Aircraft: Any Teamspeak: ks.jmainguy.com http://msflights.net/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=136 Please note that we can do this in any plane, but the war-birds and the RV6 is highly recommended.
