March 25, 200917 yr I always dreamed of buying an old war bird and going on the air show circuit. What a retirement hobby that would be.F4U Corsair. Hell, might as well buy a carrier to go with it so I can do some fishing.Chances of me having either one of them are about the same. :( Bob Donovan - KBOS
March 25, 200917 yr Author Yes, unfortunately I feel the same, bobbern. I think the closest I'll ever get to living my dream is on MSFS! Matthew Bellette
March 25, 200917 yr Im going to go ahead and make Al Gore happy on this one... i'd take an ASW24 composite glider, and live in Switzerland for some all day ridge and wave soaring!! :( I guess if I had to take something with emissions it would be a Bonanza A36 for my GA flying and a BBJ to get me back to the states to visit the bloods.Tom Moretti Tom Moretti Intel i7-7700k @ 4.8 Ghz - MSI Z270 Gaming M5 - 16GB DDR4-3200 Gskill - Nvidia GTX1080 - Corsair H100i V2 - 500GB Samsung 960 EVO m.2 - Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
March 25, 200917 yr Perhaps, but I'd put enough money away in a bank so that my children would never be struggling financially when I've passed on. What that guy did in the UK was pretty reckless in my opinion. Why? It was his money to do what he wanted with. I wouldn't do what he did, but can't see how I can criticise someone for doing what they want with their money. No offence intended mate, just an opinion. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 25, 200917 yr A wingsuit with jet packs would be my dream, but I don't need the lottery to realize it, just the guts to do it. :( Rune B.
March 25, 200917 yr Could I get a Starship for a few million and leave the Earth w/ a sure bet? :( Vincent
March 25, 200917 yr Commercial Member Well this is a continual topic of conversation around the hangars where i live. :-)From a completely impractical standpoint: I'd like any large Boeing. If that lotto gave me enough money that fuel wasn't a factor- then it'd have to be a 744, or a 777. :-)Now- coming back down to earth- I'd love to own my own jet but i just don't see the practicality. I've done some research on cost/mile factors for some startups- and turboprops win the cost/mile game by a WIDE margin unless you are flying 2,500nm+ on average every leg. Most medium bizjets are operated on 600nm legs- and their direct operating costs are 4.7x higher than a turboprop on the same segment. Then of course there are the crew-cost considerations. A KingAir B200 with the blackhawk engines would be a nice ride- but if I was going to go completely crazy- I'd pick up a nice J41 and put a luxury interior in it. But then i'd have to have another rated pilot siting in the right seat whenever i wanted to go someplace- and that can get expensive after awhile....So.... Looks like a B200 for me...Which one of you has my winning ticket? I'd like to go cash it in! Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
March 25, 200917 yr I would buy a Beechcraft King Air 350I really love this Plane, especially with the modern Glass Cockpit.Or a nice good old Piper Cheyenne IA / II :) best regards, Alexander Barger
March 25, 200917 yr If I were being logical, it would have to be a new King Air 350 with the Collins Pro Line 21 avionics. However, I just love the Global Express XRS...sweet :(
March 25, 200917 yr I'd buy an island somewhere near the Maledives and a Twin Otter float plane :( .And for sure retire early.Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
March 25, 200917 yr To be honest any small Cessna would do the job, the money left over would be to build an extention to the house to fit my 747 simulator :)Paul McIreland
March 25, 200917 yr Ryan: Our C-414 has busted prop seals again... given an opportunity I would definitely get into a turbine. Robert's mention of a B200 with blackhawk conversion is very appealing but I've always admired the TBM850... given a blank check I'd probably go with the twin Beech. What a solid dependable beautiful airplane. Dan Downs KCRP
