Ladies and Gentlemen,I think the comparison between PMDG and Airsimmer became a mute point this weekend.

Guys Please, with no offense, Please Do not compare PMDG With Airsimmer, PMDG is a Legand, Airsimmer is new in the market, and my opinion, and it's related to me, after I saw the screen shots and the videos about airsimmer, didn't feel the "Touch" Of PMDG, That makes the aircraft has another sensation, Like the Queen of the Skies, or the MD-11..Airsimmer Disappointed me as a member by their move in the release and Marketing, I felt they went rush, and do anything to make people buy, with bad decisions, which isn't a good way to start.PMDG has a Great history in FS Community, but for me, I won't compare it to any other product or company..Finally, I will wait the advanced version, just to learn a new aircraft till the NG2 comes out for FS9 from PMDG.Thanks.

Am I the only one who remembers the uproar when PMDG released the FS9 patch for the 747-400, but you could only get it if you bought the 747-400X? Wasn't too long ago, but people seem to forget quickly sometimes. The patch was eventually made available, but there was a wait of around 6 months IIRC. Not bashing PMDG (sniff, 'I love you guys' :( ), but whilst I'm certainly not convinced Airsimmer are doing the right thing here, let's not forget that even the most respected developers stumble sometimes?Cheers, SLuggy

was trying for something sly and clever, did not happen.

I have news for you, the NG 2.0 will be FSX only. Just continue supporting half baked fs products via buying them and soon even the pmdg will be selling you the unfinished junk, because they can :)

Whilst I have my doubts that the NG 2.0 will be released for FS9, I also seriously doubt that PMDG's quality of products will decrease anytime soon. Whilst it may have seen that I was 'bashing' them previously, I was only using them as an example that even highly respected companies stuff up. PMDG have more than earnt my respect back after that little fracas. If I'm anyone's a really excited user, it's PMDG. :( Cheers, SLuggy

Nope, I sure do...take another look at the release of Level D as well... :(

Nope, I do. Here are a few more more. Level D, FS2000, FS2004, and FSX. :( Folks couldn't run FS200 on current hardware at the time. FS2004 had to be patched.Numerous addons including some of ours ours. :(

Oh yes i remember that. And quite upset about the extra money i HAD to fork out to have the plane patched.. Thaought patches were free? And quite right as well how quickly people forget and only use the angles that serve them best. :)RegardsMike

Ron ... you got my point! (i didn't mention level-D as that mark some of us as being very long in the tooth.)folks:level-D and PMDG didn't become the developers they are today overnight. mistakes were made and their products matured over time. no one here knows what will be the long term status of airsimmer or their airbus. (if you do know how to read the future where were you 20 months ago before the USA housing market pulled down the world economy?)--

Well, external model looks very good, but as with girls: what about the interior? :( I've read the tutorial (available here) and looks like it may suit my needs, but I've have some questions:1) WHAT? The FMGS does not calculate the ToD point? In an Airbus, that's a no-no in my opinion, but I'd like someone to prove me wrong (the fact that there's no ToD calculation, of course).2) Does the PERF page work? For example, is the FMGS capable of suggesting me an optimum and maximum flight level? Both PSS and Wilco do that, as far as I remember.3) How many ADF radios are present in the aircraft? 1 or 2? Can I select manually the NAV frequencies at the RAD NAV page? And can I set them back into automatic?4) Does the PROG page show me the remaining distance to the airport? That would be useful for knowing when do I have to descend, taking into account the lack of the ToD point.5) Can I put altitude and/or speed restrictions in my flightplan? And does the FMGS respect them (or at least tries to :( )?6) Does Cost Index work in this plane? Or am I limited to 250kt under 10000 ft and 300kt/M0.74 over 10000? I'm not sure about Mach, that's only an example.7) How good does the AS A320 fly manually? I know Wilco hand-flies beautifully in my opinion (also the PMDG and TinMouse 737 do so when CWS mode is activated), I don't remember about PSS.At least AS should have put in the FMGS the Rule-of-Thumb calculated ToD (page 43) instead of leaving me with the math. Leave that for the DC9 and 727. The tutorial made the Airsimmer interesting for me until I reached page 43 :( I hope I'm wrong.Well, that's my opinion... and yes, I agree with all the people saying there should be an upgrade option.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel

Ok, since nobody has listed any bugs on here yet I'll grab the bull by the horns...1: Every time you load the bus, you have to reset your joystick. you also can only do it through the fs9 settings, not FSUIPC. This is also the case if you unplug it. They say that this is due to the fbw modeling.2: If you unplug your joystick, it turns off the ap and a/t, and makes the plane go out of control.3: You have to load the default Cessna and shut everything off before loading the bus, or you will get a ctd.4: The AIRAC cycle is out of date, and very incomplete. A bug in my book5: When in cruise, the ap will randomly shut itself off.6: When turning, the ap will bank upwards of 50 degrees while fluctuating wildly up and down before turning itself off7: After inserting a squawk code in the transponder, you cannot enter another one8: The a/t is very sensitive often overcorrecting itself...the turns in the ap are the same wayIMHO, this is a very buggy release. These are only the bugs that I have had on the 1 flight that I was able to do with out a ctd. The Airsimmer forums are full of other ones that i haven't had. On a good note, the sounds are the best that i have ever heard for any addon minus the PMDG MD11, and it hand flys very very well. In all reality, I am not going to hand fly my plane from JFK to LAS though. I also might want to get up and get a drink, but I can't due to the possibility of the ap disconnecting. My bottom line: I'll give Airsimmer the benefit of the doubt, and see what kind of updates/patches show up. I also want to see what they are going to do about the whole upgrade thing. This bus is basic. And when i say basic, I mean no online flying, no fspassengers, no va flight reports...As of right now, it is the fs9 Airane of Airbuses. I'm sorry to have to say this but, with the way that the Airsimmer bus is at this moment, the Wilco Airbus is better...

Hello Luis,to answer your questions:1: no it does not. An Airsimmer developers answer to this question--"I've now flown many flights with the Basic version, and by using the 3x rule I am able to fly a constant decend down to 1000 feet with the thrust at IDLE. No need for a fancy FMGS to do that. Basic math is all it takes...With a bit of basic airmanship, some common sense and some gut-feeling, you can enjoy this Airbus a lot."2: It does with limited functionality. I has the T/O, Landing, and GA pages. No climb, cruise, or descent pages.3: 2 radios. Yes and Yes4: PROG page is not modeled5: You can, but it doesn't matter, because it isn't modeled6: no the ci isn't modeled7: It hand flies beautifullyTo help you out, here is what One of the developers said--"If it is performance related, it has been removed from Basic. NO INIT2, PROG, CLB/CRZ/DES pages. Everything else is both present and fully functional."

OK guys, now I understand that some of the "advanced" stuff like all the ECAM messages and ADIRS and that kind of stuff is really hardcore and there will be only a handful of simmers who will really care. But PROG, ToD, CI, CLB/RCZ/DES? Come on guys! That is basic! PSS had that nearly ten years ago. I've been really looking forward to replacing that with something more current.
