July 5, 201015 yr Them's fighting words at PMDG, several members of the company are huge football/World Cup fans... :( Even I've gotten into watching it this year at RSR and EV's insistence haha. I think Germany's gonna take it, that dismantling of Argentina the other day was crazy. No, it just means we're not in beta yet. We could be in beta tomorrow for all you know. :( Remember too, a lot of other companies call "beta" what we call alpha here...Now you know that statement is going to start a whole new level of the guessing game eh? Keep up the great work guys!!! look forward to seeing the NGX next week! :( "To most the sky is the limit but to me it's home" Rick Harms (CYVR) i7 [email protected] (for now) asus p6t v2, 6gb ocz 1600 CL7 ram. July 5, 201015 yr Remember too, a lot of other companies call "beta" what we call alpha hereYeah, it's really hard to do a good beta test when the code is still being made to work as intended. Dan Downs KCRP
July 5, 201015 yr Relax, there won't be any NGX soon, my English isn't perfect but for me "We are not in beta yet, there will be an announcement when that happens for sure" means that there is still a lot of work to do for PMDG. So keeping the thread on topic, while there is nothing to talk about except for few screenshots is kind a hard ;)If you recall previous releases from PMDG you'll know that there are a fair few classic signs of impending release, such as beta testers showing screeshots once their NDA is lifted. RSR is pretty upfront once things are drawing close too, you'll know when it's close! Mark Adeane - NZWN
July 5, 201015 yr If Germany and Netherlands win over the next few days, we get two screenshots from Vin. Sound Fair? :(
July 6, 201015 yr :( Remember too, a lot of other companies call "beta" what we call alpha here...I definately know what u mean.... Regards,M Márcio Nóbrega
July 6, 201015 yr Note to the people who are getting anxious while waithing for PMDG 737NGX (Dylan that's for you):-guys don't do the mistake I made looking into the company named after the French Space Programme. Here are just a couple of reasons why - the cockpit is nowhere near PMDG standards and even Captain Sim has it much better; lacks AIRAC support (might get one after the autumn, at the same time we get our PMDG NGX); the systems have bugs (e.g. the APU Bleed Air system at some point can not supply air for engine start - provided solution - Ctrl+E); strange graphic artifacts (like triangles on the wings) on the exterior model (the only thing which looks good); the patches which come down the pipeline are named half version up (e.g. from v2.0 to v2.5) and being sold for the full price; dedicated forum genocide etc.If you still consider - remember - you have been warned... Similarly inaccurately, the solution for the Ariane Design NG is not to use Control+E to start the engines, but to read the manual and be aware that, like a good many other FS add-ons, you have to load a default aircraft first in order for the normal APU or ground power start to work properly. The texture error on the wings is indeed there on some models, that complaint is correct. The virtual cockpit is intended to run well in FSX, so it deliberately not meant to match other company's design choices, but to meet their own goal, which was to attain good frame rates on modest systems in FSX. Opinions vary on how it looks, but on the whole is does the job and works well for its design goal. There are screenshots of it on a review I did for Avsim if anyone wants to see it, or there are pictures on the company's website too of course. There are things I don't like about Ariane's way of doing business, and I'm certainly not alone in that. But everyone knows Ariane Design's NGs are sold singly and are expensive, and it's up to individuals if they want to pay that. I don't think their business model is the best, and what is more, I've told them so too, but I didn't go about it by posting a vitriolic statement on their forum which then got deleted, prompting me to come on a rival's forum to vent a personal agenda, twice now on this thread, I notice. If anyone reads the review I did of their 900ER here on Avsim, they can see the various plus and minus points of it. But this thread is about PMDG's forthcoming NG (and football too apparently). The PMDG 737 NGX is clearly going to be more complex than Ariane's NG. It's also going to be more complex than the Wilco 737 and the Tin Mouse 737 and the Aerosim 737, but we don't see you launching into those like an Ariane rocket going into orbit, do we? I notice you also having a crafty sideswipe at Captain Sim too, with your 'even Captain Sim' comment.Stick to PMDG's aircraft if you desire, you probably won't go wrong in doing that since they do make the best and most comprehensive FS add-on aircraft, but stick to facts and the topic at hand too, instead of having a dig at things you personally do not like under the thin veil of sage advice.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 6, 201015 yr Small question.will be a wether radar in the NGX? :(Idosmall answer. no. :( Paul Smith.
July 6, 201015 yr Small question.will be a wether radar in the NGX? :(As far as I know it's not. There has already been a lot of topics about the weather radar. PMDG don't wanna include this because of the FSX engine.Best you can do is a search for this and you'll see the replies of the developers about it, :(. Peter Belgium Flightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ...

July 6, 201015 yr I am not interested in football in the slightest. Can get back on topic please?+20,000! (Especially since England have been knocked out!) Regards,Alan Norris Live Video Stream : http://www.twitch.tv/aystertv

Everyone has own opinion like everyone has own a**...The above statement about Ariane 737 is my own, personal opinion, I paid to have it and I stand by it.As for the on-topic/off-topic discussion - well, as someone said, it's been too long to remember and it's been a second weekend without soulfood...Cheers, peace and eternal love... July 6, 201015 yr Oh darn I think I might buy some CS planes instead becuase I'm not seeing enough screen shots. Oh darn...
July 6, 201015 yr So I think we have established that this whole forum cannot wait for the NGX. I have a question regarding variants (sorry if it sounds like ones asked before or has been asked)Will let's say the 900 feature an ER Version and will it have different toys in the cockpit?
