AirSimmer A320 Basic Edition Update 1.2

The FPS is still crazy up and down out of all my complex add ons. So that in it self makes enjoying this AC not so enjoyable. I also think the Autopilot is still flaky as before. I never had any CTD's from the beginning. Other than that, I don't notice any difference with this new update. I wish they would FIX THE PERFORMANCE PROBLEM. My system handles everything fine except this aircraft.Warm regards, Jeff
Agree about the Autopilot, landed at LOWI without issues but I dont understand why HDG SEL and managed Navigation acts strange sometimes. In some way's it's the best add-on I've flown and in others the worst. Very fustrating but gives me more respect for the companys thats say nothing for a few years then release a stunning product. This really has the potential to be a stunning product and they have fixed show stopping issues but I still feel like a publc Beta tester.

Hey Jeff,I never had any performance issues with the original AS A320. If anything, I always felt that it was very smooth with regards to performance.I am beginning to wonder exactly how many issues are really the fault of the AS product. If it was the product that had an inherent issue, all of us would expereince it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am somewhat perplexed. Reading about issues, both past and present, seems to yield rather mixed results as much of what has been reported (read not everything) did not effect me with my original install. This seems to go with the territory since we all have such a variety of systems setups, add-ons, etc..I actually got a refund some months ago, but am thinking about repurchasing (IIRC, it was the autopilot that gave me the most problems).

Hey guys,Sorry, my questions were coming from past experiences with version 1.0, not v1.1. I got great frames when I loaded the aircraft, and performance went downhill from there for reasons unknown to me. I assuming that they fixed that by now. The FDE in version 1.0 was EXTREMELY touchy, so I hoped they fixed that aswell. I'm more of a lite simmer, so I'm not a fan of putting info into FMCs and such. They had the menu to upload the default flightplan in v1.1, but it never did anything...hope they fixed it....

My biggest complaint was the fact that it would CTD any time your started messing with the FPLN page and changing waypoints (like directto, adding a waypoint mid flight or deleting one and so on).I did a short hop from KBOS to KJFK. Seems much better so far (I was trying to make it CTD by changing the FMGC waypoints, added deleting and so on). I couldn't get it to CTD**. AP does play catch up still but nothing crazy or over the top.**I did manage to get it to CTD on me in the FMGC by deleting the first waypoint (I know you can't or shouldn;t do this in the bus but it still shouldn't CTD if you do this by accident, how about UNABLE or ERROR, nope CTD!!).It is running much better and is now flyable at least. Before I was CTD about 75% of the time, the other 25% I wouldn't touch the FMGC and could only do short flights. My frame rates are great (and always have been with it). I really want to like this bird as it has so much promise if they could get some stability with it.Not perfect but much more promising.....more testing and trial and error (feels like I'm beta testing!!)

I did a full reinstall and finally got the bird to work after reading a writeup on the Airsimmer forum about the TabletPC not bringing up data. My biggest issue so far is the large texture size (4,079kb) which hurts my performance tremendously as with any add-on that has large textures. Suffice it to say lowering them from 4,079KB to 1,026KB via DXTBmp has done little for the stuttering issue I have when using this add-on. On my system this bird is a dog to say the least. I can't roll down the runway/taxiway and have a smooth experience. If it weren't for the performance issues I wouldn't have a complaint for the most part. Finally with the little testing I've done this bird finally works from startup to touchdown. I did a flight from KSAN to KPHX without any issue except performance. It's strange some of us are having performance issues and others aren't. :(EDIT: Airsimmer confirms the stutters is a known issue that will have to be ironed out in a future patch. Again I guess this one's back in the hanger...

Do a search in the support forum for scs.gau. It's a known issue which is dragging down the performance. It's going to be re-written.Regards,Ryan.

I'm not finding anything using the search feature for 'scs.gau' (Airsimmer forums). :(

Thanks for the info on the scs.gau. I was going crazy as to what could be causing any performance issues. At leat now I know it is not just me and it will be fixed..Great News indeed! :) I will have to leave her in the hanger until then, but she will see flight again one day hopefully soon. Thanks guys. Much appreciated. With out a doubt everyones systems are different the way they handle addons. Warm regards, Jeff

I have a question about installation after the latest update. After installing version 1.0, do you have to do the 1.1 update and then 1.2, or can you go from the initial install right to 1.2?

It seems to do what it ways on the tin. It's very deliberately being called a systems update and not a patch I think as it has fixed issues with the systems and not touched on any of the other problems like the insane FDE/controls. It's a step in the right direction from AS although not the answer we've all been waiting on to make the aircraft complete. Back to the waiting game!

It's good people are finally reporting some success. I'm still not convinced enough to actually buy it, but I'm glad AS has done something right in people's eyes.
