October 15, 201015 yr I sooooo want a Q400. There is a massive hole in the market for a Q400. I fly the damn things for a living and have offered my services to PMDG unrewarded to ensure a top quality product. Now all we have to do is persuade them :-S :( Rgds Dean May Happiness is a limp windsock
October 16, 201015 yr Personnally i prefer regional aircraft. The most interesting challenge is takeoff and landing. With big aircraft, you must be prepared for long flight. That means a lot of free time. If you only have an hour or two in the evening it becomes interesting to fly short leg. Here are my choices. First choice : Saab 340Second choice: ATR 42Third choice: Dornier 328 (prop)Fourth choice: Fokker 50L'maire Real Deraps
October 18, 201015 yr Author Well going back to the ATR-600..while there is an ATR-72-500 available, it has been available for a while and needs some updating to keep up with today's standard or tech and graphics. The ATR-72/42-600 is very different to the 500series and thus far "some" operators who once used dash8's are favoring the ATR-600series over the Dash8 400. About the majestic dash8 400, its on its way and when it is out I doubt anyone will try to top it..just look at the 300series they made...anyways. The ATR600 seems like a nice choice once specs and other aircraft data can be collected. Quite a few airlines are ordering the 600series and it may well spark a comeback for ATR.. October 18, 201015 yr Commercial Member The ATR 72-600 is a wonderful aircraft. I spent a few minutes in the cockpit of the developmental aircraft at Farnborough this year, pristine flightdeck. I actually had the entire aircraft to myself for quite a while, ask nicely and ye shall receive ;) Albeit with a little reluctance from the guys on duty there, but I was very grateful at being allowed to get a look on board: <a href="http://www.flyaoamedia.com"><img src="http://angleofattack.s3.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/aoasiggy.png"/></a> Nick Collett i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz, GTX 480, 8GB Corsair 8-8-8-24, 300GB WD Velociraptor, Corsair HX850W
October 18, 201015 yr I am thinking of a nice BE 350 Kingair. I miss it in FSX! Cheers Jan 9800X3D | Asus ROG Astral 5080 | 64GB G.Skill RipJaws | 1T/2T/4T Samsung 990 PRO | Windows 11 | MSFS
October 18, 201015 yr Commercial Member Having a look at that flight deck, I'm definitely not a fan of the ATR. From an ergonomics and physiological perspective, it looks to me like it's a nightmare (not from the standpoint that there's too much going on, rather too little and in the wrong places). My vote is still SAAB.Kyle Kyle Rodgers
October 19, 201015 yr Nick, that's a nice photo. Thanks for sharing. There is a lot of empty space on that dashboard. It looks almost bit empty with all the EFIS and no gauges. Do you have a shot of the overhead panel as well? Just by chance? Please post it, if you do. I wonder how much has been changed there, if at all.Regards "A life is like a garden. October 19, 201015 yr You know what I'd love, a redo of the good ole B1900, ya the existing oneis OK. In fact, I still fly it more than any other turboprop, its great tojust load a plan and go, nothing fancy or time-consuming.I see one of these beauties a lot leaving and arriving at the airport rightnear home, its a plane I've come to love.Having a cockpit done as well as the JS would just be awesome, pretty pleasePMDG, a B1900X :)Agreed I wish PMDG dusted off their 1900 express and re-did it completely as a full sim for FSX.
October 20, 201015 yr It would be nice if Flight1 did a new ATR600, taking advantage of the all the improvements to VC's and graphics since the advent of FSX. My gripe with the old atr was how small the steam gauges are, especially its Navigation data map display, the new glass looks like what you see in the heavies, would love to see that simulated. On the same token, the Dash400 has similar improvements of the the 200/300's with their larger glass as well. I'm eager to see Majestic's q400, but I'm very disappointed with prehistoric VC of their q300. I'm sure PMDG will do the 300 series justice! A.J. Domingo
November 20, 201015 yr Author As mentioned before..the Majestic Dash8 Q400 is on its way ....its taking a while because of its complexity and the fact that it used a 3rd party software to enable it not to be tied to FSX limitations in terms of how the aircraft flies..The developer wants it to fly exactly like a turbo prop.. here are the latest updateshttp://198.164.146.97/fanda/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2449&sid=cbef28887fa4094fef0189f48106644f Marlon Carter - AVSIM Reviewer
November 20, 201015 yr Probably not a cat in hells chance of PMDG doing it, but I'd love to see someone have a decent crack at the Basler BT-67. Now that really is the coolest turboprop airliner. The Flight 1 ATR-72 is still not a bad aircraft on the whole, although it's not a native FSX model, but it was one of the first FS airliners to be made where there was really close cooperation with the makers of the real thing. ATR used to hand out boxed DVDs of it as promotional items when wooing potential customers for the real aircraft, so they must have thought it wasn't too bad a stab at their real aeroplane.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

November 20, 201015 yr I'm eager to see Majestic's q400, but I'm very disappointed with prehistoric VC of their q300. I'm sure PMDG will do the 300 series justice! Also the FMS on the Q300 was barely ½ functional, they had better make this one fully functional or I will be asking for my money back. The reason though that I think PMDG should do the Q400 as well is purely down to cost. The majestic Q400 is going to be inordinately expensive and out of reach for alot of younger simmers. Also how long before it is out? They have been promising it with little update for nearly 3 years now? Rgds Dean May Happiness is a limp windsock
November 20, 201015 yr Commercial Member guys, remember PMDG are working on a "secret" projectwho knows what that will be :(, time will tell Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
November 20, 201015 yr Hi, I cant understand the thinking logic of some of you guys, we dont have the 737ngx the Dash8 or 777 yet you are looking for something else. You should realise the PMDG Team dont run a conveyor belt of products and each aircraft has a time span of development according to its complexity. Give the Team a break and let them decide whats best for us and them. richard welsh Richard Welsh
