Flight Manuals Released! 05DEC10

In all honesty I'm a bit worried with the possibility of not having the QRH included in the NGX download. There's no way I can afford the printed manuals + huge shipping fees and the idea of not having the QRH pdf available with the A/C purchase is sort of disturbing. I really hope PMDG can eventually get that sorted out

I think we are already very lucky to have both the Flight Crew Training Manual and the Flight Crew Operating Manuals (VOL. 1 & 2.) already coming with the NGX as stated by Sir Randazzo...

Both the 744X & the MD-11 include it. If you're happy without it that's ok with me, but it's quite an important thing in my book. I know Robert said it will most likely be there in the end, so I'm optimistic

I agree with dazz, the QRH is a very important tool to carry in the "cockpit" of a very advanced simulation as the 737 NGX as well as the MD11 and 747. With the customs and shipping fees I have to pay, it will almost double the price of the manuals, so I'm trying to get a friend of mine, living in the US, to bring them to me the next time he visits Denmark. Ooooooh, the wait...

Nice to see they are out :( :( I had to do a double take on the price; but i completly understand the factors driving the price. Now I debate divorce or Manuals (LOL).Might have to hold short on that purchase untiltax time. Thanks guys good work.

No doubt it's an expensive item, but I decided to splurge. Based on previous PMDG purchases (747X, MD11X, JS41, and the 737 for FS9) it should be well worth the money. At this point I don't even care if the actual plane isnt available for a while, as I'll be trying to read thru most of the manuals to try and understand the aircraft before I even boot it up. As a warm-up to reading the manuals, I went to the bookstore and bought Tolstoy's "War and Peace".....sort of like a pitcher warming up in the bullpen before the game starts.

The manuals are expensive, I know. But I think it's totally worth it. They put EVERYTHING in the package. I have just checked the description in PMDG's site and I found that better is impossible. I know that for some people the price they are asking is a little high, but as I said, it's worth it. As soon as I can, I'll buy my own manual set.

Don't give me that immature crap. No 'real' pilot doing a type conversion sits down and reads the set of manuals cover to cover - they may do a whole pile of CBT with the manuals in front of them, but I assure you they don't lie in bed at night and intensively read them. I've been flying since Sublogic Flight Simulator in 1977 and recognize that PMDG produces a very good product so don't be an &@($*. All I'm saying is - If they can afford to discount the package on day one, then they are too expensive individually to start with. BTW, I take back what I said about showing me where to find the individual manuals - I found them.
Roger about your "flying" "experience" since the good ole Sublogic days, then you apparently don't have much idea of how a TR could look like - indeed you might be CBT'ing quite a bit, but if you have some ground course before the actual flying, you in fact might very well be studying - guess what, not some fancy computer stuff, but I "assure" you, the manuals. Real paper, right in your hands, not on any screen. Go figure, hope this helps. Big%20Grin.gif Sorry, kidding a bit, again could not resist. On a more serious note though:
I can confirm for anyone concerned, that the Flight Crew Operating Manuals Vol 1 & Vol 2, plus the Flight Crew Training Manual will be included with the product in PDF format. We are still working out details on the QRH availability.
I admit I might have asked before (but can't find that particular post), will it be possible to include these great system schematics and eventually cockpit poster as PDF as well? Especially the schematics might be good for many to study systems and so forth.Thanks!sig.gif

Andreas,Robert stated here that

(Oh- and any orders that get placed before 12N CDT Monday will ship either on Monday or Tuesday depending on the deliverable timeline for the QRHs...)
So shipping confirmations should be in the next few hours - however they were waiting for the final signoff on the manuals (they can contain nothing about aircraft and flightdeck security - so they are double checking the proofs before the all clear is given)Hope this helps,Chris.

I didn't think about the UK Duty from imports. Is this the case for these manuals or are they 0% VAT rated. I also read that the delivery charge cost factors in import duty, is this the case?If I have to pay extra taxes, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and accept it. No biggie. But, I thought I should ask in order to inform buyers in the UK who are thinking about get the manuals.EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the other post about this.Chris Farrell
