Wow! This is the most realistic product I have ever seen!!!Can't wait to fly with this thing! Just perfect!MOD EDIT: As a first time poster, please refer to our forum rules: You must sign your full name to every post in the PMDG forum.

But that was then, and with the right autogen optimization and powerful 4.0 ghz cpu computers most likely the norm nowadays,
Speak for yourself! We are not all able or prepared to keep updating our hardware to keep pace with software development.I won't be in the first wave of purchasers of the NGX. I shall wait and read the forum in order to assess the sort of performance people are achieving compared with the JS41 and the MD11 which I have. If it's better, or no worse than these two then I'll buy it. But if not I'll walk away and leave it for a year or two. I certainly won't rush out on a hardware spending spree. I'm reluctant to post this because I know it will cause arguments but I am going to in the interest in reality. I see these reflections in may FS aircraft but in the real world you just don't see them. In 14 years of my airline career I have flown four different types including 10 years in the 737 and I haven't seen reflections like this. Also with the few reflections you do sometimes see you don't notice them because when you look out of the window your vision is focused at infinity. Again I post this purely in the name of reality because I believe we all want the most realistic simulation possible. Here are a few pictures I have taken of the 737 in the real world. Also I know at this point in the game it is probably not realistic for PMDG to change or eliminate the reflections they have put in but I would like them to keep this in mind for maybe updates and future aircraft.

Not to be rude, but are you an administrator? I mean, leave it to the admins to correct it, I understand you're trying to help, but your prowling looking for every one of our mistakes.
I disagree with this strongly. Posts that do not adhere to the FULL name rule are subject to deletion, and I personaly don't want to see anyone's post get deleted. So I find it completly appropriate for others to bring up the rule and ask that it be followed, because in all fairness there is a very real possibility that the poster does not even know about the rule, and because really what is the harm? Not like users are telling off other posters and telling them never to show their face again.Attacking people who are only enforcing a forum rule makes no sense to me, and it takes absolutely no prowling of any kind to notice when a post is not signed with a full name.

You're at a disadvantage with those specs - particularly the slow dual core Core 2 CPU. FSX is all about CPU speed. Do not expect to be running maxed out addon scenery with a high end airplane well with those specs. Look at my specs and look at the screenshots in the 2nd batch - I took those and they're at the settings I actually run the sim at. It takes a fast PC to be able to do that, I'm not going to lie to you. I don't think there's many laptops on the market that can do it - your best bet if you want to do it is to build a desktop system.*Before anyone gets up in arms about what I said here, I'm not saying that Core 2s can't run the NGX or anything like that - I'm saying don't expect to be able to run it well with every other addon under the sun all at max settings.
I replied to this guy and you guys deleted my POST!

Cockpit glass is usually kept very clean. I think the way that they have previously done "glass" in their aircraft is perfectly fine.

Thanks for your pics and explanation Tom. One other thing that I noted though is that your combiner looks clearly different from the FSX one. Just wondering if there are different manufacturers of the HUGS? The NGX one has only one half frame on the right side that also extends further downwards while yours seems to have a frame to either side of the glass. Plus quite a thin glass too, but the NGX shots might only suggest more thickness because the POV was so close to the device. :(sig.gifPS Oh btw, may I contact you via PM for some little technical Q? hi van scimone i really appreciate if u could reply for these 2 questions.thx in advanceddavide lee

thx scimone for the reply. this is a great news for me and hope for many of us. Just 2 more questions:1. its complicated make the glass textures for the MD-11 and the 747x? need long time? its possible in future release a small patch? 2. about the 737NG, the glass texture has been made ONLY for the lateral side or also for the front glass view? coz looking some cockpit views i dont get that effect...can u confirm that the frontal glass textures are included?thx in advanceddavide lee

There are two types of HUGS systems as seen below:The PMDG 737NGX will only include the second type.As for PMs, it is highly unlikely that an Avsim PM would receive a reply. If you have any technical questions, the PMDG forum is probably the best way to ask.****************************

Not too complicated, and doesn't require a lot of time. However, there will be no future patch to add or modify the glass of either the MD11 or the 747x.

Yes, "frontal" glass textures are included. This was implied in my original reply to you and of course, you can see the windshield in any number of screenshots here or on facebook.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I wonder if airlines adjust maximum body height requirements for captains when HUGS is installed! Big%20Grin.gifVin, while you're at it, any comment on this?
I just went over the pics again and the HUGS landing shot suddenly got me thinking - will the EFIS panel still be operable via the mouse as seen in the shot? I just got thinking about it because I figured the combiner glass geometry might be in the way... with the EFIS clickspots being behind it. But maybe there is not even a 3D-modelled glass structure (just the border of it, which can clearly be seen in the shot) which would eventually prevent this potential problem?
Thanks in advance.sig.gifPS Regarding your comment on PM'ing - my bad for misleading, I was actually referring to the other guy (Tom aka Ralgh) who posted the glass reflection shots, not the devs. :wink:PPS Just recognized this is my two-thousand - 737th post... LOL :(:(

You will need to move your "head" over to access the EFIS click spots when the combiner is down.
