Captain Sim 777?!

Featured Replies

This is how they released the 757.... in blocks is what they called it. It took months and months to get each piece. Stupid way of doing things. No thanks CS.
Just to inform you, they've left this "block" path since the FS9 757, so 767, B-52, 707, the upcoming 737 and maybe the 777 will come as one base variant (e. g. 707-300) and you can then buy a cargo one or that E-3 if you like (staying on that 707 example). You don't need to do this and the base product always includes all features and systems while the variants only offer some variant specific additions. So no block thing anymore where you buy the plane, the FMC and so on.Therefore, your statement seems a bit outdated. They had such a policy once.I couldn't help smiling (friendly, but eye rolling way) about the 'I wait for PMDG to finish theirs' statements. I did not get the impression that waiting for some devs like Level D (757) or PMDG (737) made people very happy, at least in forums. Since we're talking about years there, not weeks or months, this might affect some guys.We already had this topic on the Level D 757 thread. Some are waiting, getting angry, some others are flying what's there and good, being happy. Can't complain about the current CS FDE too, they've already made some old rw 707 Captain happy for example, so I won't even start complaining. Preferences, I guess.

If the 757 is any indication, I will get as far away from this t7 as possible.PMDG is making one. Nuff said.

Seems like you're a fan .. of waiting.

Any doubts? Big%20Grin.gifI think that the personal preference statement is still valid. I really doubt that any CS plane will make you happy, kiwikat, so why get into threads to just state that you are waiting since a long time (with some negative attitude) for some maybe upcoming alternative while others already fly more or less happily? Pointless, isn't it?

The 757 is an older product, CS has made some definite improvements, and their 707 is the proof. It may not be perfect, but it is very enjoyable and has awesome textures inside and out.

And for those who still hesitate quoting CS 777 product page: "You can buy the exterior model for just 9.99. CS store exclusive. 9.99 discount on the 777-200 base pack guaranteed upon release." So frankly speaking do not see any problem here. I believe they will release complete product sooner or later. Now I'm enjoying the exterior. Sorry guys, got to go - way too busy with maintenance (so many animated things in this model, unbelievable)

Regards,
Stan

They've just confirmed that the 777 will develop to a Pro Line product, so in the details of e. g. the 707, which is very good news in my eyes. And sorry if any of my wondering about some intentions around sounded insulting. I just don't get the point in jumping into any 757/767/777/Dash8 thread to state that this or that dev is doing one too and that all other devs can't compete with them.Since all of those jump in people don't sound too happy about their long waiting period (although their favourite devs already have some products running), I'm beginning to think that these statements enable some sort of relief for them.I can enjoy the PMDG MD11 and J41 for example, the 747 too with that nice FS2Crew addon and I'm still able to get exited about an upcoming CS 777. Lucky me, huh? Big%20Grin.gif

I don't see whats the big deal there offering the outside model first which is cool I will definitely get this I like to look at the outside and admire the shape and 3d model some will not care for it other plus is that its a native fsx model which is good I don't mind getting part by part but some do congratulations to cs for stepping in and offering a nice Boeing 777. Now were going to hear all day about how pmdg will be better then this, most f us know that pmdg is gonna do in amazing job with there 777 no doubt but its great to have other option out there. but remember guys its a small niche market were in so the more options we have the better at least to me it is.

This whole "exterior" thing is laughable to me.Dear customers,Today we're selling coconut shells at exclusive price! There's no meat and juice in them yet, so nothing to eat, but eventually there will be and on a discount!Oh yes and I can also offer you at special price that glossy paperback cover for the book I haven't written yet!Enjoy! I think that a detailed exterior of a 777 with tons of features to explore and still able to be flown like the B-52 exterior before is far away from the thing you are describing, tarakanbg. So, currently, people are getting a plane that looks like the 777, done in great detail. As you may have noticed, there's some market for those look-like products in the sim and while other companies take not so lite prices for those, CS offers them at only 10 Euros for a just released title. So while you may be laughing about some "lite" flight sim pilots, other people might get happy with those products just because they are affordable and lite at the very same time. :(This aircraft model may not be interesting for one if us, currently, but get's filled with systems later and CS also guarantees that all current buyers are getting a discount (=10 Euros off, exactly the price of the current exterior) on the full release. That's what I call fair business while I would call your statement somehow intolerant, Sir.

I don't see what's so wrong with it.I mean they are giving you the exterior now, when the rest of the plane is ready you get that too.You will have a full plane eventually ?

But how does it fly? I read that they using the stock B744 panel until they get the 777 internals and systems done, so does it fly like a B744 (4 engines)? I assume that the B744 panel is a 2D only, and simply aliased to the FSX B744 for the meantime?I'm probably going to get this to see the type of animations and the textures etc. that they are offering, after all it will be much better (from what I'm reading) even with the temporary B744 panel than the Wilco one......Thanks, Bruce.

Well said. Fleecing of flight simmers never stops. This is not even a lite product, this is a shell. I love the poster who said he had to go because of all the animated stuff. That would be great if this was a static airshow display sim..... granted once the whole package is out I will look at it but not before.

Sure, I see your point, but it's the internals, the systems that are the plane. They're not the rest of the plane. What we are bring offered now is a mere wrapper. What I said in my previous post is I don't care about the wrapper. Ideally its quality should match that of the internals, just to give the whole thing a nice overall finish. The idea of separately marketing empty wrappers for non-existing products is what I find strange, to say the very least.

Yeah but unless you want to wait for 1 yr at least (even though they said they're simultaneously working on NGX + 777), then this may be a viable option
