I wanted to ask about the complexity of the 737NGX. I really want to get this plane; however, I'm very concerned about the complexity being so great as to preclude my using it. As a family man there is only so much time I can dedicate (much to my chagrin) into flight simming. So, my question is will this be, as I've heard, so complex that you can go from the PMDG 737NGX to an actual 737 sim to the real 737 and notice very little difference or will there be a simplified option for those of use who want to start out cold and dark but don't have the time to follow complex procedures. It might behoove me to mention this will be my first PMDG product.Thank you for taking the time to answer,Ed

This is great and its nice to see an approximation of release but I'm going to keep this in the back of my head, "I want to be very specific in making the following clear: Our beta team is working EXTREMELY hard to find problems in the software- and if they find anything that gives us concern, the dates might shift slightly...." So if it is released on 4 Aug or sooner its a bonus. Congrats guys.

We appreciate you taking the time to update us on this excellent news.

You could probably go from other 737s for FSX to a real simulator without having any issues either, not just the NGX. The Boeing 737 NG is a very easy plane to fly, if you know how to fly another boeing you could probably jump into the cockpit and fly the NGX without reading a single page of the documentation. Of course, if you dont know any other complex airplanes you would have to spend some time learning, but not as much as you would if you were flying, say, Concorde. That said, PMDG always creates awesome tutorials which teach the user the basics needed for a flight. They are always easy to read and follow and I'm sure that I will be following it, even tho I know how to fly an NG.

Nice. So can we expect some news on the Dash 8 on August 5? Just kidding. :( One serious question, though: How far will I get with this system and the NGx?AMD Athlon II X2 250Nvidia GTS 4504GB 1333MHz DDR-3 RAMI have FSX here but not installed currently, but I want to check out the 737. I don't care much for scenery, big airports, and such - just for a decent performance.

Excellent news! The end is in sight. Unfortunately, I leave August 1st and won't be home for at least 5 weeks, but fortunately it is a business trip and I am happy to be working.

I forget if I posted it or not somewhere earlier, but anyone want to play guess the ICAO city pair on the first tutorial? tongue.gif

Thats the flight I always do whenever I get a new plane. First of all, it has a bunch of restrictions (speed / altitude) that is good to test with a new plane, plus Ive flown it so many times that I know all the fixes and so on so I can focus on learning the new plane instead of the route itself. Its a great little route.

Bittersweet News. Hello NGX! :D Goodbye Life Social Life :(In all reality, this is great news! I have been keeping quiet most of the time just sitting back and watching this monster of an add-on be developed. For about 3 years I waited for this day, or 04AUG technically. Thank you RSR, Ryan and the rest of the PMDG team for not being like the 'other' developers. Integrity at it's best!

With the 737-800WL according to the specs it should be about 3115nm :( Kidding aside, if you don't load up FSX with all kinds of heavy scenery addons and HD REX cloud textures, you should be fine I guess, since PMDG stated the performance will be close to if not better than the MD-11. My previous system was less than yours and I managed the MD-11 reasonably well.Hope this helps.
