Rob, Even though I am no longer helping out in beta I certainly FEEL the excitement I once did when getting close to a release. I must say that my joy of flight sim is again renewed and I am looking forward to flying this amazing aircraft. My hat off to all the members of PMDG and to the testers behind the scenes for all the hard work you've put into this bird.

Captains-It is late.We are all tired. The working days around PMDG have been 18-20hrs...The beta testers are starting to get twitchy, because their reports are no longer answered cheerfully. Some of us (not me!) haven't showered or shaved in days...But...We have reached the point where we feel comfortable letting you know that we have placed a marker on the calendar. From where we stand tonight- we anticipate that the PMDG 737NGX will be in your hands sometime in the next 7-10 days.I want to be very specific in making the following clear: Our beta team is working EXTREMELY hard to find problems in the software- and if they find anything that gives us concern, the dates might shift slightly....But if all goes well over the next few days- we anticipate releasing the PMDG 737NGX on or before 04AUG11. (My birthday- if anyone cares! :( )This has been a LONG and very detail oriented development process. We feel that the PMDG 737NGX is the most detailed airliner simulation ever developed for use by individuals- and we are very confident in the quality, completeness and accuracy of the simulation. In short: We cannot wait to see what you think of the simulation once you have it installed on your machine! That being said- we are committed to ensuring that the product quality is of the highest possible standard on release day. This is a ground-up development exercise where NOTHING was brought in from previous simulations. This being the case- there are some things that we have seen during testing that require more attention- even though the simulation itself is working perfectly 99.9% of the time. There are a few items left in the "bug" category that concern us- and we are working on them. If we feel that a few more days might be valuable, we will take them. (I'm certain that will upset a few people- but we really do want this to be a trouble-free release!)So in conclusion: From all of us on the PMDG development team: THANK YOU.This has been a very long development cycle- FAR longer than any of us had imagined when we started. We are confident however, that in the end, the PMDG 737NGX will exceed your expectations in every way.We look forward to hearing your feedback once you have flown her!(PS: For those interested in pricing, etc: Tuesday. :( )Okay- back to work... there are still a few more items to be resolved!
That is GR8 news! PMDG's 737-800/900 was the only reason I hung on to FS9 as long as I did and it will be such a pleasure to fly and look at this very different beast anew! I have a dated machine, and I'm ok w/ dialing back detail in order to accommodate the NGX. Robert can you make a blanket comparison as far as performance goes between the 747-400X and the 737NGX? I can run the 747 and do quite a lot, though I have to do just a little dialing back of autogen. Thanks for your hard work!Noel

How much would you like to bet?I assume you know the competition, the light issue is not an issue if you know how to alter a .cfg file and the fix has been posted. As per my original post it is the arrogance of some of the posts I have seen (and continue to see) which will keep my money in my pocket.
I dont have money to bet. Im a college kid working on my CMEL.....much more important.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

I'm pulling one of those 18 hour days RSR spoke about right now trying to finish it. The text is done and I have about 95 or so screenshots to do. I've waited to do the screenshots to make sure the version is as close to what you'll actually get as possible. I originally wanted to include two tutorials for release, but it's looking like I'm not going to make it on the second one - it'll probably come out a week or two after release now and then be integrated into the installer subsequent to that. The first one shows you everything you need to know to do a normal "simmer" type flight though - the second one will have the hardcore full startup procedure flows and all of that as well as a much more complicated approach using TERR mode and the HGS.I forget if I posted it or not somewhere earlier, but anyone want to play guess the ICAO city pair on the first tutorial? tongue.gif
You had mentioned LOWI before, and SEAVU into KLAX...
Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.
Eloquently put. Let me add...Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap!

Great news!Even if it isn't exactly released on that date, the time for release is VERY soon, which ever way you want to twist it.Now, I can forget my B747 and MD11 stuff and start studying up on my B737NG stuff. Out of curiosity, does any know the training time if you were on a B747-400 and changed to a B737NG?

Thanks for the update, that's great news (even if i won't be able to buy it before 2011-13-08... damn holidays).I just can't imagine if a last minute bug pushes the release date for a day or two... people will get maaaaad "but you said it would be released on August 4th, look, you promised :"

...if all goes well over the next few days- we anticipate releasing the PMDG 737NGX on or before 04AUG11...If we feel that a few more days might be valuable, we will take them....
