July 27, 201114 yr What should the price be for the common working man?Movie and diner for 2 equals about this.Round of golf and a few drinks equals this.Try renting a real plane for an hour and see what you think then!+1 Less than a full tank of petrol aye Jim

July 27, 201114 yr Thus say the wealthy whom believe they deserve to keep their tax break loopholes :) Price is absolutly rediculous for the common working man. I guess the hobby is leaning towards the privlidged few. No the PMDG a really excited user will not complain one bit.I was holding out on purchasing a FSX 737. I have made up my mind. Taking in a cost/benefit factor,,,, Over to Flight One I go!Hey at that price one would think there would be a money back satisfaction guarentee? See how good it isI am in no way wealthy, and I can certainly afford it at this price. Don't disrespect PMDG, they are made up of "working men" as well. They need to realize a profit for all of the man-hours that have gone into this project. They likely aren't getting wealthy from PMDG and they all have primary occupations as far as I know. This a free market and if it won't bare this price, PMDG will either drop the price of future add-ons or drop out of the market if people don't want to pay for high quality aircraft. Shane Gavin

July 27, 201114 yr Hi Everyone,Based on what I've seen, I believe the price is more than fair. Yes it would be nice if they offered the 600/700 as a base package as well as a 800/900, but as a company in business to make money I can surly understand their decision. If this is out of your price range you have two options, purchase the iFly 737 series and enjoy their aircraft or save your money until your able to purchase the PMDG.Either way, we now have more than one option for a terrific B737NG aircraft and no longer have to rely on a company such as Ariane Design. July 27, 201114 yr Commercial Member With the Aussie dollar being 110 US cents I'm sitting pretty. And if the US starts defaulting on its loans then I'll be sitting even prettier. However, I think what is interesting here is how the base package will actually increase by $5 after 1 to 2 months. I've never seen that pricing arrangement before (not counting those aircraft that get released half done with a promise that a full upgrade will be made available at a later date or pre-pay discounts). It's almost as if PMDG is saying here is a $5 discount for being PMDG's early adopter beta testers. www.antsairplanes.com
July 27, 201114 yr Commercial Member Not a fan of the captain sim style "block" approach. If you think that's what we're doing here then you're not paying very close attention. Our 800 and 900 are fully functional airplanes. We're not selling you a visual model, then some sounds, then some liveries and a vague promise of "advanced" systems later. Any systems improvements made in the later expansions will be back-ported to the 800/900 free of charge too.You need to sign your name to your posts please. July 27, 201114 yr In a way, I can understand that you have to pay extra if you ONLY want the -700. I, myself have no interest in the -600 and -900, however the 700 and 800 are widely flown here down under, so I will get the base pack, then later down the track, upgrade to the -700 package. With the strong dollar, I am hoping it gets stronger, or doesn't drop in the next couple of months so the package still remains cheap. However, each to their own, and I dont even think you can compare this to any other one on the market. July 28, 201114 yr Kind of tough to compare the two planes when one hasn't been released yet. Only then can you get a fair comparison. if videos do not lie there's nothing to compare. You just need the "gift of sight".

Ryan, with all due respect, this may be something PMDG requires in your forum section, (Which personally I disagree with for internet security concerns, if the purpose is to be cordial, first names should suffice) this though is the general FSX forum, and it has never been a requirement of this forum or any other AVSIM forum section to afix a full name (not even a first name) to a post. I never give out personal information in a public area of the net. That is why I don't twitter, or have a facebook account, and is why I don't post over in the PMDG forums.
