My fps is most definitely up with this too - not sure why, but it's a huge improvement for me!

(Whoa... Did he just mention the 777? Yes, yes he did.)
Yeah, i'd be excited if it had a 2D panel. That and a throttle quadrant Straight%20Face.gif Sorry, it's a requirement for accurate flying Rolling%20Eyes.gif

He didn't. In an earlier post he stated not seeing the sim objects folder in the \ms games\fsx\ folder. For some reason it appears his installation is split up in two locations.
We all have two sim objects folders. He found the one under My Documents (where fsx.cfg is located amongst other things). Later he found the main one where the aircraft are located. Like I said before, if there was no sim objects folder under /microsoft games/FSX then the game wouldn't find any objects to load. I wouldn't recommend reinstalling FSX because of a typo in someone's post. Kevin Hall

installed latest hotfix and 2 flights ended with 2 crashes. had not been so bad before. first flight got a CTD right when I loaded the NGX. Second flight was fine from YSCH to YBCS but during roll out at Cairns I got the second CTD. too bad. now my final glimpse of hope vanished.

For you at least
Exactly.

I just did. If you're happy with it, great, i'm not. Specially after paying $80 for an incomplete aircraft (i didn't know the NGX lacked the throttle, 3 years come on?) which i can't return. The 777 at least i know it'll be 3D only and i'll pass. If you can click the 3D spots accurately and with enough speed to comply with certain 'real ATC' commands online, program FMC arrivals in 3D JIT, that's just great, i'm not that skilled and therefore don't fly with 3D panels unless i'm cruising and wanna take 'pretty pictures'. That's the reason for my comment - Not aggressive, just a rant. Take care, safe landings.

I find it hard to figure out how you guys that claim to be getting higher frame rate have achieved that. I don't think PMDG have done anything in HF4 to increase performance. Quite a few have claimed this though... weird. Unless there was some kind of unrecognised installation issue that has been corrected by the HF4 install.

I think thats called placebo effect ...

Dear All.. Just in from work and see lots of posts about my "hard to find aircraft.cfg files". Thanks to everyone for the guidance and advice. Given that all is working well I will stay clear of a reinstall etc for now, and await the outcome of SP1. If I have problems I will reinstall using all the advice received. Thanks again.John

+1I think it is more smoothness than anything. I for one don't go by the frame counter that much, if not at all, what I see in the cockpit and out the window is all that matters. I think what most users are noticing is a less spiking in the frame rate, which is giving this nice smooth feel to the NGX.
