Well, that answers that! I am estatic that PMDG is doing so well they can afford to alieniate 1/3 of their customer base. Looks like the 737 will be my last PMDG plane.
Would very much love to know where you think that figure comes from...

You need to get the latest RTM version form the PMDG website !!You need to be at version 2922 now. (2888 is not being used anymore !!!) I hope PMDG bear this in mind for SP1.Some people out there are obviosly still using the initial release version. So I wonder if SP1 will include the 4 hotfixes to date ??......or start from ver 2922 ??
Hi Jason, The initial version is fine for me and others in this forum. I only would like to take one step before SP1 with hotfix4 but I observed that in my PC I can not install anything more from PMDG. I do not understand why. I already have a ticket with them. thanks for your assistance.

Okay, I've been shooting manual approaches throughout the afternoon, evening and night (it's 2am now), trying to provoke another panel freeze, but I just couldn't manage it. Every single landing worked flawlessly and I could taxi happily to the gates instead of overshooting the runway with frozen controls and MFDs. Awesome!

From watching all the previous threads re: the lack of a 2D throttle panel, looks to be somewhere between 25-30% are very unhappy about it. Only time will tell if they will purchase without ANY 2D panels, but I certainly won't, and I have the 1900, MD11, 747, 737. The policy makes no sense to me, but it's your plane and your business.

Is the Military variants still on the radar for release after the 600/700? I opted out of all the hotfixes and fixes to the hotfixes and liveries reinstall and messed up cfgs - my original RTM install seems to be working just fine, it just doesn't have the military look and feel. I am currently approaching TOC with the PMDG colors flying from LSZH - KBOS to checkout one of the alternate routes. Smoooooth this early in the morning (0654Z) I just gotta learn how to set that clock. But, you gotta admit some of these painters do stunning work. Thanks Chock and thanks Ioan92. RayM

Hello Mr. Robert just a question: What about shared cockpit capability? Thanks.

Jorge Escobar.

First of all, hi everyone! This is my first post in the PMDG NGX forum. As I recall, the NGX was initially marketed as having both a 2D and 3D cockpit. When it turned out part of the 2D cockpit (the throttle pedestal) was missing, there were many complaints about that, in threads that are now locked. So, I guess PIC007's guess isn't far off.I, too, think it's a bit odd not to include an important panel in an otherwise complete 2D cockpit, and not make that clear to prospective buyers. Would it really be that hard to create a rudimentary 2D panel to show fuel cutoff levers, trim settings, and throttle settings???It wouldn't even have to be "pseudo-3D", just plain flat!I think it would be a different matter if it had been made clear from the start that the NGX would be missing the 2D throttle pedestal... Other than this, I think the NGX is a great addon, even though I don't really have a capable enough system for it yet. But when I do, I intend to use it with Opencockpits avionics hardware, hoping someone will have implemented support for it using the SDK by then! Praying.gif(and I'd prefer 2D panels for that, then) Anyway, since SP1 seems to be just around the corner, I'll probably pass on the hotfix. But I applaud PMDG for making it available already.

COOL -- Even I know the answer to this one, as it has been clearly stated SO MANY TIMES, in SO MANY TOPICS. (including this one) "Planned" for SP2

Both of those things will come in SP2 (or whatever we end up calling it now) - we'd originally planned on doing them for SP1 but the fixes for stuff had to take precedence for SP1.

How many service packs are going to be made?

Bob. Thanks. I know that program86 is not ideal but I am reluctant to uninstall and start completely over, although this may be a good idea before SP1 arrives. That said I still cannot fing files titled "aircraft".cfg. The folder SimObjects is in c:\users\"username"\appdata\roaming\microsoft\FSX\SimObjects. In there are 4 PDMG folders but in each is just one file titled "state.cfg. I cannot open this to edit. Is this however what I am looking for?John
Hoes, See if you can find a path similiar to this one. Once there you will see several texture folders, depending on how the files are sorted you will find one of the aircraft.cfg files. Each of the model folders will have an aircraft.cfg file. If all else fails, try the start button search function and search for one of the folder names, then right click on it and select 'open folder location' and you should be there. Just remember every installed fsx model will have an aircraft.cfg file so that is not a good one to search on. Ray

I personally have never seen a seriously poll below 40%.
Only time will tell if they will purchase without ANY 2D panels, but I certainly won't, and I have the 1900, MD11, 747, 737. The policy makes no sense to me, but it's your plane and your business.
This policy is offending everyone, who has spend much money into monitors willing to expand 2D panels for ergonomic training aspects. Btw. i 've never tasted any policy which forces me against my habit in and out the FS Simulator World. So even time will not change anything. But time is a good point helping to resist. There is a proper 747, MD-11, NGX, a VRS superbug, maybe in this life a suitable Airbus. How in god's name i will get the effective time using a T7 which would force me to unergonomic usage. The ironic thing, the T7 was my most expected aircraft 'til this cuting-feature-policy. The ability to decide i have always seen as a big feature. And finally the performance in VC will never be like 2D in FSX. It seems there is still a big difference in bare selling and using things. Money Eyes.gif

I doubt no more than 1/3 of the people who have purchased the NGX have ever even posted in this forum.I think its would be really tough to make a call like X% of users want a 2D just based off of a couple random folks posting the request for one. To me that is just taking a shot in the dark with no real numbers to back it up.If we're going to take guesses I would say only 5 to 10% of users want all these 2D panels "baesd of what I have seen posted".Jim Burke
