@ PMDG or AVSIM staff, I (and supposedly many others) would highly appreciate if this thread could finally be locked. 181 replies to RSR's announcement and only a few are relevant and on-topic. Now we even have a discussion going on about some other add-ons. This is getting a real pain in the butt as one tends to look up here for possible follow-up info by PMDG, only to find posts that contain no information or even no connection to the topic.
I agree...

i want just to know what are the fixes included in this SP1 ???and hope they will fix the NGX to make it compatible with ENB .
ENB works fine with my NGX. Not sure what's the problem on your end...

Chris Ferguson

PC Specs(Rebuilt 1/11/19): i7-9700K - Non-OC'd, EVGA RTX 2080ti, G.Skillz 16GB Ram 3000mhz, EVGA SuperNOVA 1000w PSU, Cooler Master ML360R, ASRock Phantom Gaming 4 MoBo, 2x 2TB HDD, 1x 1TB Samsung EVO SSD, 1x 220GB WD SSD

Then you should consider yourself lucky because we are lots of people having CTDs and other problems using the combo ENB-NGX.I'm one of them and I really miss the great effect of ENB so I hope there will eventually be another product similar to ENB but more stable. I've tried the product Shade for FSX but that one wasn't as good as ENB if you ask me.

In mine too.
Here as well.

It worked fine here, but then after updating my gfx drivers they startet giving me black screens in full screen modus.

Not sure if this will help with instability issues and the NGX, but, here goes. When I first got the NGX, I was running a 9650 OCed to 3.6. I had hardly any instability issues. Once in a while I would get a panel freeze, but only like one every 10 flights. I just set my comp up with a new cooler, case and memory to take the OC to 4.25. After reinstalling winxp 64 I started the process of the OC. Got it to 4.25 and then ran prime95. Got it stable on a couple 4 hour tests. Then I installed all the FSX stuff. My first flight in the NGX ended in a panel freeze as well did my 2nd flight. I upped the voltage a few clicks all around and was able to complete a few flights in the NGX. I am not saying that computer OC stability is the cause for the NGX instability, but I am saying that a more stable OC can reduce the issues one might have with the NGX. Maybe the NGX puts a slightly higher load on the system than the typical OC stress test, or maybe it just stresses parts of the system that prime doesn't. I am still getting panel freezes at the same rate that I had before I took the system to 4.25, but I was able to take the new found speed and apply the external FPS limiter to a rock solid 30FPS everywhere which since then I have yet to have a crash or freeze with all my addons including networked sim connect addons such as EFB, FSINN, ASE and Luvcars. I know that most people running the NGX have their systems OCed. Maybe try upping the Voltage one click system wide and see if you still have the problems. JB

interesting, i was also overclocking my i7 to 4.4gz and it never gave me any trouble with the ngx except when flying in orbx scenery areas. I recently reduced my overclock to 4.3 GHz which is clearly not a big change but so far i have seen a much better stability in fsx when flying in orbx, so far Not one single CTD and i have made several flights already

I already provided a link you can use to see every post Robert makes: http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&search_app=forums&mid=100334&search_app_filters%5Bforums%5D%5BsearchInKey%5D=&userMode=content Even if you ignore the fact that if PMDG were to make a new announcement, they'd start another thread, you can use that link to stay up to date with no difficulty whatsoever. If the thread was locked, you'd just have a bunch of duplicate threads from folks wanting to discuss something from this specific thread. If you don't want to read that discussion, unsubscribe and don't read it.

i still have freeze and CTD with HF4.when i use ENB SERIES and switching to full and window mode fsx crash always with black screen and it crash more when i load the NGX into UK2000 GATWICK 3.1 Airport.i try to load it in AEROSOFT IBIZA it doesn't crash.really i don't understand this FSX.
Since some people say they are using ENB with the NGX successfully I tried it again myself and just completed a 3+ hours flight with no problems and enjoyed every minute of the flight with the beautiful effect you get with ENB so maybe just maybe things got better with HF4. I'll continue using it with my fingers crossed...

I have always been afraid to try this, but I might give it a chance, I like to fly full screen and I constantly tab out to the desktop and back will this be a problem? Also can someone post there general settings for the ENB Bloom I know there are many variables you can change and I just want an overall good setting for all flying occasions.

We are delaying the SP1 release and the 600/700 release for AT LEAST one week, possibly as many as two.....I'll keep you posted as we move forward during the week.
I really hate to sound like a broken record, but we're coming up on the 2 week mark and you haven't kept us posted. Why are you guys so bad at following through with providing information? It's not like it was before release and everyone was just impatient to get their hands on it.Now, some of us have a product that freezes or CTDs and we're left wondering when it will get fixed. You guys make great products, but your inability to do what you say you will really puts a ding in your communicative credibility.Just my 2 cents as a concerned and frustrated paying customer who can't use my product without it freezing.

I think you may get into trouble using the ENB mod when you say you always keep ALT-TABING in and out from FSX, that itself is known to often cause problems. What I've read is that if you do need to reach your desktop when running FSX in fullscreen mode a better way doing that is to use ALT-ENTER to switch to windowed mode and someone even suggested you should pause FSX before using the ALT-ENTER combination. Another option for you might be to run FSX in windowed mode all the time but maximize it, that way you will always have access to your desktop even when FSX is running but still get almost a fullscreen experience. As for trying the ENB mod you really shouldn't hesitate doing so because if you do and find that it gives you problem all you need to do is to remove the d3d9.dll and the enbseries.ini files again and you're back to square 1. Below is what my enbseries.ini looks like and I've been using these settings for a long time now with a result at least I think gives FSX a very good general boost when it comes to the light inside FSX but I'm sure you can find lots of other good suggestions if you surf the WEB. Trip7cap, what is Robert supposed to do? On the one hand he has you (and others) whining because there are no updates, on the other you have the likes of NyxxUK, Jari junior and others whining because there are updates. Robert said about two weeks, now maybe it's me being stupid but the 30th of September to the 12th of October is and never has been two weeks. I also gathered from Robert's post that they were having a few issues, and being a sane, sensible sort of person I would not be surprised if this date was missed, if so I'm sure that there will be an update (unless Robert doesn't want to upset NyxxUK again) So why not just read the update properly and have a little patience? The team are probably up to their eyes in it at the moment, trying to improve the product for all of us. I'm happy playing with my 738 until everything is sorted. BTW what's ENB? It's been referred to several times in previous posts, but I can't recall ever hearing of it before. Cheers,John B Hansen

It's a lighting effects mod. It wasn't designed for fsx but was adapted to work (most of the time). I could be wrong but I believe the fsx flavor of that mod is an adaptation from gta. Lots of systems can use it fine, but it also causes problems in a lot of systems. I don't use it, but many others love it & refuse to fly without the effect it gives, even at the expense of other issues.
