Is it true that some FSX addons like scenery or aircraft doesn't perform well in P3D? If that's the case, is it possible for P3D to come out with a converter for people to convert FSX addons to P3D format to take its advantage? If not, I am afraid I wouldn't move to P3D any soon as I already spent huge amount of money in FSX addons..

The more we decide in favour of P3D the more beneficial it will be for all of us. Let's not further divide off the FS community, but create a real movement of people and addons. Time to move on to FS-Next, Prepare3D. Kind regards,

Sorry my friend, that will most likely be Flight for me.

Cheers, Bert

To a lot of people, paying a monthly fee would stop them from even considering P3D
Same could be said about a lot of hobbies that require a monthly or daily fee. Personally I wish that they would stop charging me $65 dollars every Sunday morning when I go play golf, but it is what it is if you enjoy your hobby enough.Doesn't mean that I would rather just pay a one time $40 like I did for FSX, but considering P3D is in constant motion, meaning they are continually working on it and the performance and stability is better, I would be more than will to pay $10 a month for it. Heck, if a lot of the 3PD's get on board and make everything completely compatible, then I would be even more willing.I suppose the $10 per month may put off a casual user, like someone who only spends an hour here or there, but for someone like me who uses FSX an average of 3-4 hours a day, then it might not be such a bad deal after all.

What happen to Flight? Some of you are all talking like Flight is dead? It's not...what's the rush? I always said "To each his own" and I'm sure Prepar3D is or will become a good platform but for me I'm waiting for Flight before I make a decision, I mean how many sim can I fly at the same time and I don't want to say "Well dam I should have waited" after Flight is released? Some of the devs. are not selling as much as before because a lot of us are on hold waitng for Flight (as Mathijis said in one of his post here) and if we believe the last rumour + forums closing their Flight's thread it does make sense to me why we are presented we another platform beside Xplane-10. To be honest with you Prepar3D look interresting but.....I have FSX...maybe Xplane-10.....how is Flight.....

Actually this is not quite the same. It would be closer to the P3D model if they charged you $65 even if you didn't play golf on a Sunday morning.

+1, it's like been a member at a Golf coutry club with a bar bill you have to pay every year what ever you eat there or not....unless you cancel your member ship.

Gotta agree P3D doesn't hold any attraction to me in it's current state, I've read the list of changes and it's just too similar to FSX but with a much bigger price tag. Honestly even if Flight managed to be a major flop somehow and no other alternative surfaced I would rather go X-plane or stick with FSX to get my fix.

Yep 33 cents a day is a real showstopper smile.png
You can slice it up anyway you like... 33 cents per day or 1.4 cents per minute, it’s still $238.80 every two years which is roughly how often the next version of Flight Simulator came out. (Before the financial crisis) At approximately $50-$70 for Flight Simulator, this is a substantial increase. For some this won’t matter. For others…

Orbx CEO John Venema has just announced the Side-By-Side License (SBSL) price to run Orbx FTX products in Prepar3D. The licenses will cost AU$8.95 for each product and you must have Microsoft Flight Simulator X installed side-by-side with Prepar3D on the same PC. Sounds like moving to Prepar3D could start getting a little costly. Maybe they should have called it Prepar$D.

If they are fixing what's wrong with FSX how hard will it be to package all fixes turn around and sell them as a patch for FSX to all of us for what ever price they see fair...no need to have Prepar3D with FSX on the same computer, I bet they could sell a lot of patches for FSX, is it not what MS is trying to do... fixing the engine?? It's more profitable for them to have us at $9.00 per month to enjoy what ever is fixed in Prepar3D + AU$8.95 for each product you already paid for to be able to use them troubles free with Prepar3D....and after you'r in with Prepar3D what will stop them to raise the price of the monthly subscription after a year or two if they feel like it...as a business man myself this make a lot of sense for them to do that $$ wise....as a customer...it's like I said, to each his own.

And why would you call it Prepar$d? It was put in the market as a commercial simulator, so these prices are actually quite normal, if not cheap. Still it amazes me how many simmers jump the Prepar3d bandwagon... It has to become a lot more than it is now before I even consider getting it. My money is still on Flight and I'm looking forward to Microsofts October news update.

HelloGet some perspective here guys.I have just returned home after watching my Football team draw 0-0, cost for that afternoons entertainment? $70.00 and thats on top of a season ticket which cost $620 (22 games).$9.99 is a bargain for the amount of entertainment you would get from a prepar3D subscription.Even if, as Mike will tell you, the EULA is broken if you do find yourself being entertained by it.

I'm getting them all. If I could have several FS2004 and FSX installations on one PC I would have had three or four licenses for each sim by now. I focus on getting the best out of each sim and will set them up to practice various kinds of flying. Hopefully Flight will be the best sim ever, but I'm not gonna sit around waiting. P3D is here now, Flight isn't. X-Plane 10 is just around the corner, Flight isn't - or at least, Microsoft can't be bothered telling me about it.
