December 19, 201114 yr The shots look to be from the new version of REX so his settings would not matter yet :( Rich Sennett
December 19, 201114 yr The shots look to be from the new version of REX so his settings would not matter yet :(Yeah, but they will be nice to have for the updated REX2, cause i'm here patiently sitting in line for that :( Rick Hobbs
December 19, 201114 yr my only problem is that sometimes it Knocks out some of my gauages, speed ect goes back to nil? That's your pitot tube (it measures your airspeed) freezing up in icing conditions. Switch on the pitot heat of your aircraft and the speed indication should come back a few moments later. Don't know about your control issue, though, but I doubt it's caused by REX.

December 19, 201114 yr Tim, what is the plane in this picture off of the REX website, because this is the shot that made me purchase REX, and I want to see if I can reproduce it.
December 22, 201114 yr Can anyone here provide some guidence to a new REX user? I did a dusk approach into YMML last night (NGX + REX + FTX AU + FTX YMML) and fps dropped right down to <10. Are the 'Themes' independant of weather (real time or pre-set)? What REX options and configuration would best suit, and what should the FSX water effects slider be set to? I'm a bit confused about what boxes need to be checked for texture loading. Once a theme is selected and textures loaded can I then deselect the check boxes for Airport Environment, Runway/Taxiway etc?Any advice much appreciated.
December 22, 201114 yr Do a google search for REX settings...there is a ton of advice on how to set this up. that's what I did and I see maybe 2or3fps hits at the most with high resolution. This is with REX only. The first version. No overdrive or anything.

December 23, 201114 yr I believe during dusk and dawn, FSX uses twice the data amount when 'dusk/dawn smoothing' is on (fsx.cfg setting). But YMML is a contributing factor here. Try to repeat the flight during the day, reduce clouds (distance, coverage)For my taste, 1024 DXT5 clouds have almost no difference from 4096 32bit, but has much more performance Bartłomiej Ender

I'm running a 3+ year old Q6600 and my NGX frame rates are relatively the same after I reinstalled REX2+Overdrive...maybe 2 or 3 fps drop. The 1024 clouds are just fine IMHO. Jack Urie
