Some thoughts on Flight...

No, not alone, but I guess you didn't follow anything up until now - you would've known these topics have been beaten to death. Someone said, it wasn't even beating a dead horse, but rather beating a decaying horse.

Put a 3 year old in front of the NGX with a yoke, throttle, and rudder pedal setup.See how well he does.Yeah, thought so!
Forget the NGX. Put them in front of the J41. It is much easier to cause an engine fire in that turboprop!

Flight won't even touch my computer. Ever. I'm surprised you got that far.

Actually, the problem is that we don't have any addons like NGX available for flight at the instant. Anyone having a good computer like me (AFAIK) can play fsx quite well with orbx, rex and PMDG and will surely prefer FSX over flight. However, if you have a weak PC, then you will prefer flight over fsx (that 13-14 gb one and all that).

Well lets compare FSX and Flight just out of the box.. FSX had the WHOLE World to fly around Flight has only Hawaii.. so.. thats a good point i think ;)

I kinda liked MSF turning up like this, so I don't have to worry about upgrading computers beyond what I need for FSX any time soon! Nor do I have to worry about repurchasing a whole collection of addons for a new FS software like I did for the transition from FS9 to FSX! :(

Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

Flight wont have ANY add ons apart from what MS provide sometime in the future and there is no way they will bring out stuff like PMDG or Orbx. They have made it very clear they have made Flight a closed platform, denying developers like PMDG from working with them unless they basically hand over their business and rights. I doubt I will even try it, who wants to just fly around one, or a bunch of little islands...boredom will creep in very quickly. Even the gamers who have commented on Youtube's trailer vids think it looks rubbish so I cannot see a market for it even if it is free...which ultimately is not MS's business plan.

I'll keep the installer around, just incase it ever improves. But I'm not the least bit interested in flying an aerial course around hot-air balloons with some light AC.

Looked at a bunch of the YouTube videos. Nope, not happening on my hard drive. Best of luck, Microsoft--I suspect you will need it.

I'm not bashing flight at all,i'm up for supporting MS in there flightsims, maybe in a few years it will evolve into a very good platform for all flightsim fans.I've bought the hawaii addon pack and it does look very nice.it is however a very lonely flightsim experience. No other aircraft,no atc,no cars it is a beautiful looking but dead world.i'm hoping for some sort of traffic addon.have some planes doing there thing plus some traffic on the roads.course i've still got fsx and the NGX if i need a fix. :smile:steve-0

Why PMDG does not code its own Flight platform ?Maybe it's the good time to.Investment is too big ?

^Because that would be similar to asking Volkswagen to design the Space Shuttle succesor

I had lots of fun playing Flight. It's a nice game, you can move around and enjoying the scenery, get achievements and stuff, like +100 points for raising the landing gear after a take off. I'm gonna keep it on my hard drive, and once in a while, as I play Starcraft, Portal, and other games, I may cycle back to Flight.Of course if someone was expecting it to be the next-gen flight simulator, that person must be really mad by now.
