Ryan,Where would you rank this one as a complex single? Best of the best or just a nice upgrade from the A36?

GREAT stuff Ryan! Thanks for the valuable feedback.
Someone's gotta be the early adopter right? This is a plane I wanted since I saw the first preview... Hopefully the address some of the issues. The non clickability of their stock GPS paired with my RXP GSN430W is a huge letdown... argh... You can't program a plane like this and not use a NAV2/COM2. Also, I'm suprised there's no DME readout in the plane. On the F1 Mustang you can add it to the G1000 PFD. I'm not sure it's on the real G500 but one would think a nice plane like this would have a DME readout somewhere on the panel.

Hmmm it's kinda in a class of its own... being a turboprop and all. If Carenado addresses the clickspots not working and hopefully a DME gets added (##### is with the dual XPNDR - I think that's where the DME should be) I'd say near the top. I'll probably fly it as much as the Lancair and Mustang. (And that's a lot). My personal breakdown (total flight time at top):Turbine DukeLancairMustangNGXLotus L39T182 G1000T210MKatana 4x and so on...

Yes, I have been eyeing this as well :) Have you posted your findings in the Carenado forum?

Is it right to assume a noticeable fps impact on that one or could this be a system based phenomenon? The guys with the Sandy Bridge are the ones I worry about.Glass stuff usually comes with an unavoidable impact, but I'd love to read some (more) positive reports to be honest. :(

I love everything about this plane EXCEPT for the Gamrin 500 or whatever it is, it is not compatible with the RXP stuff! O well, I hope they put steam guages in the C90 with reality XP intergration.

I need a flying guide for this puppy. I really feel incompetent. It requires so much power in slow flight. What is your experience on landings? Final approach speeds and configuration?Bob

I was able to develop about 100kts and take off fully feathered. I would not think this would be possible with the real aircraft?Once airborn then it began to decay.Bob

I didn't fly her much....yet. ;) I can say she performed better than I thought as far as FPS is concerned. At KHQM I was getting anywhere between mid teens to mid 20's and smooth overall after a short circuit around the area. For my now dated 3.2GHZ Core2Duo system, with the default HD textures and not resizing anything, that's pretty good in my book. :) I will hopefully get more time this evening and will report back. Hope this helps anyone with frame rate concerns. Carenado doesn't even mention "Friendly Frame Rate" in the features section as they have done with all of their products in past releases, so that made me a bit nervous at first. Beautiful aircraft none the less. :)Best, Jeff

I presume he means if you load a plan via the RXP GNS it won't display on the G500? I actually haven't got to try that yet. Would be a bummer if that were the case. In fact I've not even tried to load a FP into the G500. Does anyone know why there are two transponders? From my end I cannot click the buttons on the stec model anyway, only on the dials.Oh, for those with trouble reading the G500, shift+1 brings up the 2D popup.

Agreed. Between the perf charts and normal procedures I've got an alright handle on it but I'm not sure when I need to turn certain things off or on. Wish they had a general operating manual.

I've got mine installed and will be posting some avionics tweaks at the Avsim Carenado forum.

I can confirm that the G500 does display the flightplan from the RXP units, and it even shows the route legs/courses/distances when you access the deeper menus. I didn't get to finish my flight, but so far I think it is pretty neat and fun aircraft. I also got the PFD/MFD to adjust brightness by accessing the AUX menu of the G500. The click spots are a little tricky on the G500, but once you get them figured out they are quite simple.

What about DME? Am I the only one who flies with VOR's hehe?

Hello All, Thank you for the feedback on the Malibu. I'm almost about to bite into it, but I will probably with the King Air C90 once it comes around.
