January 26, 201214 yr I have the Saitek Yoke, Logitech G940, and a Saitek X-52. I use the Saitek yoke mainly and break out the G940 for the VRS SuperBug, DCS KA-50, and Space SIms. My X-52 collects dust as it seems to limp.
January 26, 201214 yr I've used both at various times - including both in combination (a complex setup with a yoke, three CH throttle quads, plus stick and HOTAS throttle, and pedals, all rigged through FSUIPC with different profiles for different aircraft).I eventually settled on a single HOTAS rig - the Thrustmaster Warthog - because, for me, it's more versatile. It's accurate for stick aircraft, it's plausible for helos, and it feels like real hardware, so even for a yoke-controlled aircraft, it brings a certain degree of realism to the table, in some ways moreso than a light plastic yoke, even if it's not the right form factor.I liked using a yoke - particularly because it allowed right-handed control of the mouse - but not enough to get me past the complexity of the setup or the intrusiveness of the big piece of hardware sitting in the middle of the desk.If I flew only yoke-controlled aircraft, I'd probably feel differently, and would probably have opted for heavy metal hardware, along the lines of the yokes from PFC.Hope this helps. January 26, 201214 yr Most of the time I use my Saitek Pro flight yoke system but I also have a Saitek X52 connected that I use with Realair sf260, the A2A cub and other planes that have a stick IRL. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
January 26, 201214 yr Stick for stick aircraft and yoke for yoke aircraft. If I ever inadvertently get the combo wrong it feels odd. Imagine, an A2A cub with a yoke! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 26, 201214 yr Author I thank you all for the input. As far as me, I do like to use what is used in the real plane. So, with that in mind, I am ordering the saitek proflight along with 3 saitek panels. Also I will be ordering the CH throttle quadrant for twins. I think I will be in business along with Trackir, EZDOK, and soon MCE. I think I am stepping up my game. It has been along time since I bought new controller hardware so I am really looking forward to it..Thanks again everyone for your valuable input!!!!Kind RegardsBob Officially retired
January 26, 201214 yr Bob, you do know that the Saitek Proflight Yoke system already has a throttle unit and that you can another quadrant for adding three more levers? No need for the CH throttle quadrant. Here is how it looks for me and it works perfectly for twins: Edited January 26, 201214 yr by Krister Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
January 26, 201214 yr Commercial Member Logitech Extreme 3D PRO for me as well although I hate it. Don't want anything bigger on the desktop, it's too big and clunky the way it is. They're basically junk, but you can't buy anything better for less than $100 bucks. I'd pop for something good like the warthog but I'm not dealing with a separate throttle and rudder pedals. Did that once with the Saitek x45, got rid of it within a week. Nice smooth stick but what a monstrosity on the desk. I actually like to use my computer as a computer sometimes :smile:Jim
January 27, 201214 yr Got CH yoke very good for flying GA aircraft, and I have also Logitech force feedback 3d stick. Like about FF sticks is you learn quickly to be patient with them as learn to find small movements are better than big ones with GA aircraft. All plug the FF stick on Monday and use for VFR flying on my day off.

You have a pretty nice office there!!!I love to see folks setups. It always amazes me the creativity. Thanks much for posting Bud!!BobLogitech Extreme 3D PRO for me as well although I hate it. I am completely isolated now. I have a horseshoe shaped desk set and it works well. Once side is biz, the other side sim.Bob Officially retired
January 27, 201214 yr I use a Saitek X-52 joystick. I've debated using a yoke, however, I've never got around to buying one. I do have rudder pedals though (CH Pro pedals). Jeff Thomson
January 27, 201214 yr I as well fly what the AC calls for. For stick it is an X52, and for others a Saitek yoke, two throttle quads and rudder pedals. I have ordered and yet to receive the saitek Multi and Switch panels and will one day add the radio panel. I am just comleting the build of the Roger Dodger Aviation mod fo a helicopter setup using the X52 with the throttle attched to a collective and joystick centre mounted. All of this combined with their Tripple screen cockpit. Another two weeks and I should be able to start using it all!
January 27, 201214 yr I've been using the MS FFPro 2 for years as well. Just within the last month or two I picked up the Saitek Yoke/ throttle set and recently obtained the Saitek rudders. So now I try to fly the stick for stick aircraft and the yoke for yoke aircraft. It really makes a HUGE difference for me, in terms of immersion. Alexander Alonso
January 27, 201214 yr Author Well, you guys are right. Stick for Stick, Yoke for Yoke, but my TM X36 is terminal. So, I guess I will need to invest in a good stick. Dang, I thought I was done buying. Honey...........I uh need something else, and heres why. I am sure glad I married this woman because all she will say is "I found this wonderful restaurant".Bob Officially retired
