March 3, 201214 yr If I wanna walk I will play an mmorpg, walking feature adds nothing for me in a Flight Sim. The airplane handling using Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and Rudder pedals was alot different from FSX, very touchy. There was only 2 aircraft to compare in Flight, although they are very different their flight seemed the same.Flight will likely grow to be very good, but am I willing to put out the $$$ again as they realease new areas and airplanes? Kinda doubt it after investing as much as I have in FSX, and there is still so much more for FSX I dont have.
March 3, 201214 yr Late, I know. How about BOB from ORBX?I thought his name was John ? :Nerd: Frederic Steiner.

And Flight's implementation is much better than anything in FSX, including BOB. March 3, 201214 yr indeed, walking around aircraft is great feature, I miss it in FSX so much, but I think they could allow us to take seat in other aircrafts. In MP we could land and swap aircrafts for example. March 3, 201214 yr The best thing about Flight is that I'm guaranteed to get good performance if I max out all the settings, without all that tedious messing around with config files.
March 3, 201214 yr Late, I know. How about BOB from ORBX?Bob isn't a person but a plane without an actual 'body'. You have to start Bob and use throttle and plane control to move around etc.! It was a nice addition to FSX, but in MS Flight you can actually WALK and run, without having to start the engines. Besides, since Bob is a plane, you can't see your own plane while walking because you ARE the 'plane'! IN MS Flight you really get out of the plane and you can check it or walk anywhere you want to.Bob and the walk feature are completely incomparable.
March 3, 201214 yr What about support for multiple monitors? Sure performance is great with one, but what about three not in Triple head, but two video cards? How do you push back the plane?ICON turn radius really wide. The map doesn't help me navigate...how do I know which way to travelMS support for flight will increase I'm sure and I will eventually gravitate towards it. If they do not dump and run then I'm ALL in.-Ray
March 3, 201214 yr 1.) What about support for multiple monitors? Sure performance is great with one, but what about three not in Triple head, but two video cards?2,) How do you push back the plane?3.) ICON turn radius really wide.4,) The map doesn't help me navigate...how do I know which way to travelHi Ray,1.) I only have a single monitor and a single GPU, so I'll let someone else answer that one.2.) Currently this is not an option. If you get stuck, you may have to return the the map screen and move your aircraft.3.) Use your differential braking (separate Right and Left brakes: Z and C keys by default).4.) I don't understand exactly what you mean? But in Free Flight, you can change your aircraft heading by clicking on the ring that surrounds your aircraft, and rotating it while hold down the left mouse button. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
March 3, 201214 yr The map doesn't help me navigate...how do I know which way to travelIn missions and challenges you will see magical yellow arrows showing the way. In free flight you just have to check out the desired heading and fly that way... Maybe you could use VOR to navigate? Go to Legend on the map and enable Radio navigation.
March 3, 201214 yr Walkaround is an important part of real-world preflight preparation. And Flight's implementation is much better than anything in FSX, including BOB. Thats fine, I just said for me it adds nothing, for you it does, cheerios.Guess my biggest issue is am I willing to invest $100's more into a new flight game? Also I wish that FLight would have been made for 3rd pary deveopment as FSX was. I would much rather support 3rd party development then Microsoft, but thats just me.
March 3, 201214 yr @ Canuck55Off topic, but I started with PSION too on Sinclair Spectrum. I have always in working order ;-) Btw I agree with your post...Regards,Richard PortierI started with a BBC computer. 28k graphics extention +28k memory. The flight sim written in basic took up all the memory except for 2 lines of code. It was a good sim and ran very smoothly too.vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

As has been pointed out, it's good for both immersion and realism. Cheerio! March 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Just 3 - An awesome UI, fast loading and excellent lighting and sound effects. Also no popping or blank textures. Plus truly useful / interactive checkists. And probably most important really smooth flight even on weak machines.BTW - flight models are a major step up from FSX.Oh and the walk around view is terrific.Cheersjja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
