The "twin" Mr. Randazzo is referring to is the 777. The first twin is the NGX, the second is the 777.Threw me for a loop the first time, but watch the video again - he points to the 777 on the projector screen.
I'm not so sure. He says it is something that will parallel the T7. Maybe it is the 764 that would be pretty cool. It's the only thing that is close to the T7 they almost have identical cockpits. Lee

Lee (hey that's my middle name!), I doubt it is the 764. I think he could be talking about the DC-6...

Maybe. There probably is a limited market for the 764 with only two operators. We'll just have to wait and see. But yeah it probably is something we already know about otherwise we would've heard something on here. Just did a full 180 in under 3 minutes :) Can't wait for part 3 lol and part 4 the next day ;)

Randazzo mentioned different types of VNAV in the press confrence, just wondering what differentiates them?

Adam Ruemenapp

i also got the impression it was another twin and not the 777. maybe the poster cut the video there as the screen was about to change and show the new development? guess we`ll just have to wait n see!

Alan Norris

I don't get why half of you are still speculating on what the 2nd project is when it clearly says on the front page of Avsim.com that it's the 747.http://forum.avsim.n...views/pmdg.html
Robert said "twin". Last time I checked the 747 is a twin x 2.

He actually mangled that explanation a bit haha. The NGX has geometric VNAV, which means essentially that it goes at a constant descent angle in a straight line between all restrictions. The 777 is going to have non-geometric or idle-path VNAV, which means it will actually fly level for a while after the previous restriction altitude and then commence an idle descent once closer to the next waypoint rather than going down at a constant shallow rate the whole way. Straight line descent with power on vs. a stairstep type thing using level segments followed by idle path segments to get down further. The vast majority of airlines have the non-geometric option.

Thank you for re-iterating my point. :(
Oh good. I was not sure if you were agreeing or disagreeing with him.

While you are here, is there a limit in 737 VNAV geometry? Recently, I have been writing a procedure for IGS in LSGS and it keeps telling me NO DES PATH after xxxxx - might it have problems with 6° descent?
