March 27, 201214 yr Nice shots, definitely liking what I'm seeing. I'm still waiting for the Aerosoft Airbus X Advanced, and I'm quite sure I will buy that one and fly until FSL releases theirs. As it is, I fly the Airbus X quite happily already. March 27, 201214 yr Looks great, but are there any plans to make a 330 and 340? I know nothing about Airbus systems, am a Boeing guy, but will buy this and learn it. (I guess to properly fly I'll have to use a joystick as my "side stick" instead of my trusty CH Yoke.

March 27, 201214 yr The wait should not be too long. Airbuses were conceived with cockpit system commonality as a major design goal, in order to make them attractive to airlines because of the ease in training multiple type certifications for line pilots. In fact, one or two Airbus models require little more caution on type certifications than to advise pilots to beware of over-rotating the aircraft on take off, in order to avoid a tail strike on longer models, and to watch out for different wing-tip clearances and turn arcs when maneuvering in the airport environs. So much so that many airline SOPs for several different Airbus models such as the A320, A321 and A330 actually come in one big all-encompassing binder, with simple stick out page tabs dividing the sections pertaining to individual aircraft types. That's indicative of how similar they are in terms of overall systems operation.Good to know the A340 is coming; I think that is the prettiest of the Airbus models, and along with the A380, it is still uniquely able to fly to some places where some ETOPs aircraft cannot do so legally.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

This commonality however, makes for a much harder "behind the scenes" coding effort so as to fully capture the "spirit of having things feel the same". Those who've flown Class D simulators will attest to the fact where the A321 is made to behave exactly like the A320, although the lift and drag models are completely different. Same goes for the engines.You can imagine that this causes somewhat of a heartburn for us developing the various birds - but I'll discuss those items a bit more in our forums when the time comes :). March 27, 201214 yr Oh I've no doubt that the fact they enjoy commonality in real life doesn't make it a five minute job for developers to simulate it, but there will doubtless be things which will be sped up by the process too when compared to making a completely different aircraft.
