I hadn't flown the J41 in a while ...Today I installed it in my new build and took it out for a spin and my FPS dropped to like 10 in KLAX... even the PMDG 737NGX game me 20. FPS.

Then I realized something.. when I am on the J41, my cursor is flashing madly... When I switched to the 737NG, the cursor was not visible on the screen. But I did some screen switching like Pressing A and W a few cycle with my curor on the screen and guess what, my FPS droped from 20+ to 10. But when I reset my flight with the 737NG, the problems goes away. But with the J41 the blinking cursor problem never goes away.

The issue may not be the J51 itself...but something to do with that silly cursor blinking.. That messes with the FPS. Not sure what is causing that issue

You could try to either put the mouse cursor outside your FSX window or put if youre running fullscreen you can put the cursor in a 2d popup. This removes the flickering mouse pointer framedrop for me

You mean like these two....? FlyTampa Seattle converted, FZ02 KPDX converted..

Thanks to Jose Otero (DDJose) for a number of PDX objects AND the PDX inspiration, and to Anthony Cacciatore for his help, and its original conversion. Seattle KSEA is the work of Lawrence Robbins and Anthony Cacciatore, and available at http://www.myflights...og/Welcome.html

PDX is not a finished product by any means, but is adequate for my purposes: unfortunately my skills are somewhat limited a). by lack of smarts, and B). by a large dose of laziness!

I said FSX quality. I know about the conversions and I'm not spending that much money to try and jerry rig 2 sceneries.

They've said they're shooting for this year but you know how that goes.

Could be a great end of 2012/ beginning of 2013 for fsx.

Did you guys see what they wrote about Wx radar... fairly interesting:

"our weather radar does not use the FSX clouds.Instead we analyze the weather report around the aircraft and at several 100s weather stations around, and make the assumption about the reflectivity based on the beam geometry, the cloud layers heights, the types of clouds and the reported precipitation"

Didn't read that Ryan.

Very impressive!! Did they just solve the FS WX Radar conundrum?

I think this will be one of the all time greats for fs.

Indeed that sounds great, of course, there won't be clouds in FX where the WXR says there will be, but still a great idea IMHO...

It's funny how often that is said.
