August 31, 201213 yr I've heard this too.... what am I doing wrong then? Most of my testing airports are payware, like FlightBeam, FSDT, and FlyTampa. For instance... here's 60% at FSDT's KDFW... if I set that to any less the number of planes drops off dramatically. 40% is almost a boneyard. Are you testing with payware or default airports? Seems pretty empty for that amount, that's for sure. I haven't that much payware airports, so that could be an issue of course, though I doubt it (explanation later). I just tested default KSEA with ORBX PNW (so there shouldn't be anything different from default?) and I have pretty much 2/3 to 3/4 of all gates full at 35% of airliners in FSX&MTX. I also tested with FSDT JFK Demo (which is full payware airport I believe, but with 5 min time limit or so) and result is about the same as with KSEA so at least that payware works for me as it should be. Maybe you should post your problem to MTX support forum. Burkhard is really helpful and he may have an ansewer if payware airports with different gate counts and settings can make a difference. I doubt it, because MTX uses FSX SDK traffic tools, so if airport is compatible with SDK, it should work fine (which I believe they are, otherwise default FSX traffic wouldn't work either). Other opiton is, that you have some FS9 traffic files in your library. I've heard that they might cause trouble and sort of "block" FSX and MTX traffic. So, you might be "contaminated" with some (freeware?) addon that uses still those... You can check your bgls with the bashed MyTraffic Communicator and try to figure out what you've got. I have bunch of traffic bgls from OZx, FSAddon, RTMM and Aerosoft with MTX traffic files and none of those fore mentioned cause any sort of trouble with it.
September 1, 201213 yr I have pretty much 2/3 to 3/4 of all gates full at 35% of airliners in FSX&MTX. Me too. Also at FSDT's McCarran(KLAS), I got a well filled airport, but however, it's still easy to find a parking spot for everything from the ultralights to the heavies. Same happens at all other majpr airports I have and regularly attend (EDDM, LFPG, LEPA, Kai Tak), with MyTraffic 5.4 and airliners set to something about 40 and GA between 40 and 50 per cent. Florian

September 1, 201213 yr FPS issues with UT2 first, turn off moving jetways. They are a FSP killer. The setting is in the UT2 GUI. Another option UT2 has is to limit traffic based on a target frame rate. I have it set to 15 FPS and is the frame rate drops below, UT2 injects less traffic. I was at FSDT's LAX last night and it was pretty full. FPS were a bit low but I tend to start flights at larger airports and land at smaller airports. The drop in FSP is more manageable during take off than it is when landing, IMHO. Yes, adding freeware AI aircraft to UT2 does drop FPS but for me, the result is worth it. For many airlines, I have added all of their special paints and livery variations so when I land at an exotic location, I see lots of interesting stuff. Overall, the loss in FPS is really only noticeable at really big airports. Back to My Traffic: What is the process for switching out aircraft? I would like to have more charter flights and smaller airlines and I do not care if the schedules are 100% accurate. I know, however, I could not deal with substandard AI models. Also, can easily I turn off airlines that are covered by UT2? MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
September 1, 201213 yr I have both UT2 and MTX 5.4a pro, and i prefer MTX. It was hard to tear myself away from UT2 as it and its predecessor since it was released. UT2 is a fine product and works well for a lot of people. The GUI is top notch and I could just read the schedules for hours on end. The options it gives in the sim to clear out the active so you can land are a nice touch too. But one thing that has bugged me since i first installed UT2 was Daedalus Airlines. This is their repaint for whatever airline doesnt have a paint installed with UT2. Now the way i see it, thats just as bad as having the default AI airlines running around in the sim, and isnt that why we buy these products for in the first place? To not have fictional airlines in our FSX? The argument that you can add on paints from other sources doesnt hold water for me either, since I PAID good money for them to be in the sim. And i havent yet to this day figured out how to add paints in UT2, or trust myself enough to do this in the fear i may mess up bigger things. Thats my biggest gripe with UT2. Iknow there is an option to keep Daedalus from showing up, but then you also lose those airlines that use that paint. Which is a double whammy for me. Which brings me to My Traffic X 5.4a. I was hesitant to try this at first for a long time, being it doesnt have a "corporate" name to the title "i.e. Flight 1", and is mainly the work of one man. But the sheer amount of airlines and AI injected into the sim just outpaces UT2 in my comparisions. Not to mention GA and military traffic. It seems traffic is everywhere, even on the smallest strips. And there are no Daedalus paints running around. This is a big seller for me. And while we all will notice fps hits around big hubs, i find MTX to not hit as hard as UT2. I do a lot of my simflying around KCLM, and Seattle with its fps-killer airport, along with the military bases (Whidbey Island) are just alive! Now MTX doesnt have an attractive GUI, but honestly, once you have the addon installed, I have found little reason to go back to it. As far as realism and schedules go, the dev himself has said they ARE drawn from real schedules and others that people have submitted to him. But you must use the proper AI settings in the sim to see this. He said this in response to a post in the support forum for MTX that I asked this question. Many users suggest that numbers between 25% and 40% are realistic. Parts of the MyTraffic schedules are based on real world data, and for those airports which are not filled by these additional schedules are calculated on some algorithms. All these for airliners and cargo traffic are above 50%, so at 30% you will only see airliners based on real world data. If you fly in an area where data are not restricted and airlines are open with their data, you will see all of them, with a little side remark that many flight tracking sides rely on a special equipemt that all Airbus and Boeing airplanes have, but many Embraers don't have, but I mix more sources, but if at an airport you miss an Embraer that could be the reason. If you fly in area where access to data is restricted, and airlines block their data, you will miss them and then prefer to higher the slider to see the automatically generated traffc. Now English is not his first language, but i understood his message, and that is the base where i have my airliners AI slider. Right now I am running in dx10 and have everything just right and running a solid 30fps so i have it set at 60 percent and i have planes everywhere. GA traffic is at 40 percent. And the plane models themselves are pretty, and the paints are even better, i have seen many variations of Southwest for example, the old tan paints, the new blue paint, and the specialty paints, such as shamu. One of the things that absolutely sold me on MTX was when i was flying in the caribbean, and flying into St. Kitts TKPK, and seeing UT2's version of Liat (a caribbean airline) in a daedalus paint. Later, when i installed MTX, i flew into the same airport and there was LIAT, in all its glory, in the right paint and equipment. And the caribbean with MTX is crawling with those little airlines and everyone of them has the right paint schemes. Point is, the main thing we are all striving for is visual realism, GUI's and fancy features only go so far for me. And MTX fills my need for what i expect out of an addon in this category
September 1, 201213 yr Hello That's it summed up perfectly, exactly what I would have wanted to say if I could express things better.

If you take a few minutes out of your day, you can print from the UTX menu a schedule for your favorite airport, go down the list and make sure all the repaints are there. It does take some time, but once you add all the missing repaints, UTX is the superior program. Especially because, and this is huge to me, the AI actually fly real routes. In WOAI, MyTraffic, and anything else, the Ai just fly a GPS direct route from airport to airport. The positives as some people have said of MTX are it has more GA, military, helicopters. But if you spend some time adding all the repaints missing in UTX, and use the power pack to add military and cargo, then you have a superior product.
September 2, 201213 yr Ive got 100 or so extra charter and cargo airlines they missed out. If anyone wants a copy of my updated databases let me know. I would like a copy, please. Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)

I stated in my post my points why UT2 is not currently being used by me. I did some screenshots of some MyTraffic X planes at TKPK and TNCM. The airline LIAT is there (the airline paint which is not in default UT2, and which prompted me to look into My Traffic X) along with Avior Airlines which i would bet a 3 dollar bill is not visually represented in UT2. Also during the install process of My Traffic X i noticed the Boeing 787 being installed as AI, but i havent seen it in the sim yet, since i tend to keep low and slow VFR and at smaller airports. Ill go hunting at KPAE in the sim and see if i can catch it on the Boeing ramp. The A380 is also represented fully by MTX for you Airbus lovers too.

Like I said, you can manually add some missing repaints. If that's such a big deal to you, then fine. But it takes less than 5 minutes to add a paint.
September 2, 201213 yr 5 minutes times the few hundred more models and repaints that MTX has and you get....... your life back with MTX. Cheers, Andy.
September 2, 201213 yr Well reading this thread has made me think if should switch to My Traffic. Let me explain.... As you can see my system is pretty darn good, and for the most part the sim runs like a dream (I'm actually on P3d now). Let's take a sample flight I did yesterday from KIAH to KDAL, using Blueprint Simulations KIAH and KDAL, both very nice airports, with UTX, GEX, REX, AS2012 on weather, Radar Contact, in the very nice RealAir Legacy. Sliders are all maxed except Autogen 1 notch down at very dense, no bloom, and road and boat traffic low. Now I can get close to 30 fps or more in weather most of the time, maybe dipping down a tiny bit in super heavy urban areas. Enter UT2, set at 65% which is pretty realistic. Now for the most part I'm ok, holding on to 15 - 20 fps at KIAH departure in the rain. For me 15 fps is the bare minimum to have an enjoyable experience. But coming into land at KDAL, going over Dallas metro area, with DFW off in the distance, FPS are down to an unacceptable 10-12, which is no longer enjoyable. In other words UT2 is actually hammering me at %65.... Today if I have time I will switch over to MTX and report back, I have an old copy of 5.4 hanging around somewhere.
