Dear Avsim fellows

Featured Replies

I remember when I first joined Avsim, many, many years (should I say decades?) ago.

I choosed a nick name, maybe was it ILS26 or LLBG I don't remember, something unremarkable and not really original.

Few years later I registered using my real name because I was feeling among friends, brothers or colleagues and I wanted to be myself.

The "old" Avsim main forum page became very quickly my "virtual" home and then I became part of this bunch of great people who give their time for the others because they want to share their passion.

I didn't really have lot of free time but I wanted to give back to Avsim a bit of what I was receiving and I became moderator.

I was coming back from work at some ungodly hour and was immediatly stucking my head into the forum after a quick kiss to my sweetie.

Sometimes I was abroad, on a hotel room, at 3 AM, answering to questions, to messages...

Then we had THE big mess, with Avsim hacking. I remember being at the airport once, just before jumping into the plane, looking at my mails to get news about the forum while people where waiting for me..

I loved being a moderator in this big and unique community. I made friends, learnt a lot, shared my modest knowledge and above all fount a real family during moments of my life I was happy to give and also when I was needing support.

Time has come for me to turn over a new leaf and to thank Tom, my friend Geof, Jeremy and the others for the great time we had together.

To wish also the relief team, Stephen, Momtchil, Chase..... a lot of success, they do a fantastic job.

To tell you bye for now my dear Avsim fellows from all over the world.

I will come from time to time as a normal forumer and hope to "meet" you soon.

With kindest regards,

David ^_^

David-you are the best and I am so glad I was able to make the virtual aquaintance of you and your bug who drove me crazy crawling on my screen until I figured out it was not real. It is so nice to see the bug again, to know you are around, and hopefully look forward to seeing you here and there here.

All the best,

Geof
