October 18, 201213 yr Good grief! "It is unlikely that there will be an investigation into the near-miss since the plane has been decommissioned."
October 18, 201213 yr The pilots must have failed to read the charts for Ballenstedt, as they were actually way too heavy for the runway (MTOW 5700kg)... Oddly enough, the road is also on the chart (at least the one I found)... Lucky for them they were flying an aircraft with landing gear designed for rough terrain, otherwise it might not have looked so nice on touchdown... A Andrew Entwistle

October 19, 201213 yr http://video.repubbl...o=&ref=HRESS-10 Yeah, what the hell happened there? Anybody care for a guess? That's my landing technique, only he screwed it up. When I land, the struts emerge from the top of the wings. He obviously flunked that course.
October 20, 201213 yr I agree with Chris.....Pretty Awesome And... It is unlikely that there will be an investigation into the near-miss since the plane has been decommissioned. Lucky for them. Just a few ruffled feathers is all then. Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
October 20, 201213 yr Seems like practically 50% of my landings in FS... In all seriousness though, lucky escape, but I don't think the public were ever overly in danger, they would have known the aircraft was going to come in shallow and would have kept the road clear for that, just happens they came in a bit more shallow than expected... Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
October 20, 201213 yr Did somebody see the next video where they are trying the same stunt at JFK?
October 20, 201213 yr but I don't think the public were ever overly in danger, Good thing these guys weren't there (airplane starts at 0:55): A lot of us have tried that at one time or another LOL Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
October 20, 201213 yr Lets hope it's still possible to just watch some planes like they do. In the post-9/11 version of the film, they've cut out that dangerous suspicious scene. ^_^ More seriously, does anyone know what the C-160 pilot had to say about the early touchdown? Just wondering.
