UK2000 Heathrow Extreme!

Featured Replies

Seriously? I'm surprised that you own other UK2000 airports and actually need any "tempting".... What exactly were you waiting for?

Aerosoft Heathrow is dreadful, it truly is dire, far worse than the "out-of-the-box" fsx Heathrow...

Get the UK2000 one and be a happy camper...

I'm convinced. I'll go ahead and make it 15 UK2000 Airports + Eiresim Luton, which I forgot to mention that I had.

I love UK2000 Heathrow for the simple fact that they keep publishing updated afcads.

lol, whatever an AFCAD is, it sounds good, and sound like I'll have the right info should I ever figure out what it is and how to use it...

Am about to test out the 737NGX with UK2000 Heathrow now... Be back soon to let you know what happens..

None.

Correct.

Ok I see, I was hitting an abysmal mid teens at UK2000 London City, Orbx EU, and UT2 at 100% with semi fair weather.

Well Aerosofts airports I think are about 25 euros which is over £20 so that's about 20-30% more expensive than a UK2000 airport...

Aerosoft's airports:

1. Include VAT. Do UK2000 prices include VAT?

2. Also €25 is the cost only for the "Mega Airport" series, not the smaller local ones. So for example, Aerosoft would only price EGLL, EGKK and EGCC at the €25. While UK2000 prices everything at that level (Aerosoft prices smaller airports around €15-€18).

Well, that was interesting.. Got the PMDG 737NGX fired up and did a few quick "EGBK > EGLL" test flights, night/day etc, and then re-installed UTX Europe and did it all over again.

Awesome performance. Holding strong at 30 to 45FPS the entire time, except once on the ground and get close to the gates where it drops to around 24FPS with all the traffic, vehicles, other planes and what-not, but still smooth :-)

Oh, and seeing it in the day, just taxiing around, wow... UK2000 Heathrow is soooooo nice, and now I've been able to test it out with a heavyweight, I know the rest should be "plane sailing" :LMAO:

Guys, I think the cost of UK2000 airports are personally worth every penny and more, lets put it like that.

Aerosoft Mega Heathrow to me, isn't worth the DVD it was burned onto if its un-usable.. IMHO

This is gonna melt my debit card, either that or PayPal security gonna be knocking on my door :Just Kidding:

Evening Srdan, do you use any AI planes package together with *******' SMS generator to see real liveries on online planes? Or do you just love VIP airlines in SB? :) :)

And quickly back to topic; guys, I was waiting for the Aerosoft Mega Heathrow, do you recommend buying the UK2000 in stead?

i wish Gary would update his website, it doesn't do justice to his products and probably detracts from potential sales due to the general messiness and lack of high quality images and layouts

Yes I think they're 16.99 incl. VAT

Maybe I'm just biased because I live I the UK and he did such a great job on my home airport :)

No you're not biased.... as a general principal, UK2000 airports far exceed most Aerosoft airport releases in both visual quality and performance....

So @cptawsom's comparisons are just irrelevent because (i) Aerosoft airports are usually more expensive than UK2000, and (ii) they don't tend to be as visually attractive, and (iii) they generally perform harder on frame rates.

So what is the issue cptawsom? ...... that VAT is not shown, and that UK2000 sells in pounds? ...... How dare he sell in UK pounds, when he's in the UK and a registered UK business!

You may be interested to know that Gary is working on Luton Xtreme right now. I purchased the Eiresim version of Luton, but it had a few problems....not the least of which was the serious mismatch between the base image, and the surrounding Horizon GenX scenery. That wouldn't matter if you nuse default scenery (or FTX England), but it is unacceptable to photoscenery users.

On a side note, if you are getting 50 to 60fps with UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme at maximum detail levels, then you either have not much else installed in the area around the airport (and AI set at a very low level), or else you use Skynet for running FSX.

All I have installed currently are Ground Environment X and Ultimate Terrain X

Soon as I installed the 737NGX, the frames went down to 30 to 45 instead of 50+ with the default 737, but then that is some serious heavy bird. My AI is currently set at 20%, which for me, flying at night time is fairly realistic of what goes on over my house (I live 2 miles from EGBK Runway)

I'm looking at putting AS2012 on my laptop now to prevent the PC slowing down any further..

You can look in my profile too for my PC spec, nothing special, but it is over-clocked to 4.8GHz.

Is Gary planning on doing an Updated Heathrow version?

Is Gary planning on doing an Updated Heathrow version?

It's updated regularly. I expect the next update won't be till the new Terminal 2 is finished. The last update was with it demolished. Whilst it doesn't currently feature the building work that's going on (what a mess it is and how much work it would be to depict it!), it is pretty much bang up to date.

And quickly back to topic; guys, I was waiting for the Aerosoft Mega Heathrow, do you recommend buying the UK2000 in stead?

The existing Aerosoft Heathrow is made by SimWings. It is their only project, IMHO, that is not good (very bad actually -> lights are light big globe bulbs and show up very late -> also very bad on frames). And although all other SimWings projects that I have (LEMD, LEBL, LPFG, LEPA, LEIB, LEMH, PANC) I consider all of them excellent, regarding UK airports, I would suggest that you go exclusively with UK2000. I have 3 from them (EGKK, EGCC, EGAA) and I consider them superb. Equivalent to FlyTampa and FSDT jobs.

So wait for UK2000's new Heathrow.

and (ii) they don't tend to be as visually attractive, and (iii) they generally perform harder on frame rates.

These are both true.

So @cptawsom's comparisons are just irrelevent because (i) Aerosoft airports are usually more expensive than UK2000

However this is not true, Quite the opposite. Small-regional aerosoft airport are cheaper than UK2000's.

There is a world (and currencies) outside the US you know .........

I don't live in US, you know. I live in the eurozone.

So what is the issue cptawsom? ...... that VAT is not shown, and that UK2000 sells in pounds? ...... How dare he sell in UK pounds, when he's in the UK and a registered UK business!

Is that what you got from my message?

The issue is that to compare things, they have to be similar, so you compare € with €, $ with $, and pounds with pounds.

You cannot compare pounds with €.

1 Yes VAT is included

2 £16.99 or less = E21 at today's Google exchange rate; and £1 off for multi-buys

Well worth it I think.

Edit:for clarity, I'm talking about UK2000 pricing here.
