December 14, 201213 yr Hi As in the title, just wondering if there is an alternative to the bright yellow triangles when using the progressive taxi, that isn't so intrusive? Thanks in advance
December 14, 201213 yr There's these Guys doing there thing http://www.dbsim.com/ But apart from that, i'd be interested if theres any others. Chris Howard
December 14, 201213 yr Hi Earl, Not that I am aware of in the stock sim... I have seen an add-on that has a marshaling vehicle meet you and lead you back in.. are you thinking along those lines or getting a verbal progressive taxi instruction? I would be interested to find out what others may know. Jeff NorthLink VA - Commerce & Community in Northern North America!
December 14, 201213 yr I use ASE and request Follow Me, but as I fly online that might get you lost. In case of online ground ATC I enter my taxi instructions in EFB from Aivlasoft, that gives me a moving map on my networked laptop and it will shows the correct taxipath on the ground map.
December 14, 201213 yr I just download the airport chart to my iPad... As real as it gets. Guess its just a matter of replacing the textures, but don't know if anyone has done that. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
December 14, 201213 yr i use the below since i use radar contact as ATC. Also you can read the reviews on it. my opinion the GPS is good and works with all airports. Only the activation is not very straight forward but there is support to contact. http://secure.simmarket.com/dbs-studio-airport-gps.phtml X-Plane11 GTX1070 8GB Vram - i7 4770K cpu @3.5GHz Quad core - 16GB RAM
December 14, 201213 yr You could try Daniel van Os's now freeware Followme (not the same as DBS Follow me). I bought the first version of it and it worked quite well. Here are a couple of screenshots (sorry, the post is in French) Unfortunately, the links to FollowMe V1 and V2 on Simflight are broken but I found a copy of V2 here. Haven't tried it though. December 14, 201213 yr I just wanted to mention FollowMe v2 to, but i see Jean-Paul already did. ^_^ With kind regards, Bart S.

December 15, 201213 yr I too prefer consulting airport charts and taxiing using distinct taxiways and taxiway signs as references (i.e., only one possible place to turn ahead, only one non-90-degree turn ahead, etc.). Ground navigation is a basic skill that all pilots should be familiar with.
December 15, 201213 yr I generally use charts and just follow the signs, then use the progressive taxi to find the exact spot that ground control wants me to use. December 15, 201213 yr I usually fly at airports where I know where I am going. If not and I get lost, then quickly flick into top down view to check.
