April 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member So far I have to say that I really do like this bird. I have not had any activation issues or app crashes (but I can fully feel for everyone who is experiencing those problems). At this point I am finishing my second flight and the only things I am trying to figure out still are: 1) How (if possible) can I map a Saitek Throttle Quad axis to CL 1 and 2. I have tried to map the axis as Mixture 1/2 in FS and FSUIPC but still no luck. 2) It seems like the plane "stops" sometimes, in flight and on the ground, for 1 to 2 seconds, then starts moving again. Not sure if there is a FDE setting I can change but this did cause me a few issues on takeoff. - Jordan Jafferjee - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D | Asus X670-E Pro Prime | Gigabyte RTX4080 Eagle | 64G G.Skill Trident Z.5 DDR5-6000 | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 | 2x2TB Samsung 990 Pro NVME | NZXT H7 | Win 11 24H2 | TM Warthog Flight Stick + Throttle | Honeycomb Alpha + Bravo | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | Samsung 43" Odyssey Neo G7 | Dell U3415W
April 21, 201313 yr This might be of use to you guys. Havnt tried it myself but it says its basically an EFB and developed in conjuction with Majestic. AuraSim Instruments is currently a free of charge product, made in co-operation with Majestic Software. Aircraft data for Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 is available upon the release. htttp://www.aurasim.com/news/6/AuraSim-Instruments-released!/ CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
April 21, 201313 yr Does the weather Radar actually work on this prop? Is it realistic or is it just a decoration. The last I heard is that weather radar cannot be simulated within FSX.
April 21, 201313 yr Anyone else getting a jumping throttle 1 setting? My throttle 1 rating jumps on the display from MCR to MCL, back and forth back and forth. Showing 65% then 70% while the 2nd one shows a constant setting. Also setting a VOR 1 and 2, it doesn't seem to display on the ND, it always auto tunes to the fmc even when I change the radio setting to not auto tune.

Yep, I downloaded this thing more than 24 hours ago and didn't get the throttle jumping thing/adjustment squared away until a few hours ago. The fix for me was a reinstallation and yet another attempt at calibrating. It finally took and this plane is now a pleasure to fly. Make sure you install as admin. Good luck. April 21, 201313 yr Does the weather Radar actually work on this prop? Is it realistic or is it just a decoration. The last I heard is that weather radar cannot be simulated within FSX. It seems to work well to me. The picture it paints may be slightly exagerated, but when I saw radar returns I could readily find clouds in the distance where they were coming from. I haven't flown through much rough weather yet, but otherwise seems to work well. When I say slightly exagerated, what I mean is that scattered clouds return as a fairly uniform patch (rather than patchy or not at all like in real life). It also seems to pick the return based more on cloud coverage than type/density of the cloud. I saw a couple red areas that looked more like overcast than storm heads in FSX itself (using Opus for FSX weather). It doesn't seem to work for me, I turn it on but get no weather displaying on the screens. Did you click the WXR/Terrain button the the MFD panel? the MFD's only display terrain or WXR (not both together) and appear to default to terrain display. You need to toggle WXR on the MFD control panel after turning on the radar from it's own seperate control panel. Eric Szczesniak
April 21, 201313 yr I can't seem to get tcas to switch from standby to ta/ra As per the sample/tutorial flight, I cannot even get TCAS to come on despite pressing LSK8. Following on my earlier post, I have now successfully managed to configure the steering issues I had; managed to taxi to the runway in that sample/tutorial flight, take-off, etc, but for some obscure reason cannot fathom out why the AP keeps disconnecting repeatedly. April 21, 201313 yr It wasn't so much auto-disconnecting on the approach, but disconnecting 5-6 times on the descent, and then the GS disengaged over 4 times on one approach, but only once on another... I'm clueless really... It catches you really of guard too... Regards, Ró. i think maybe what you are seeing is that the vnav is only valid for certain types of legs that have a specific start/end point. so if you're flying a star that includes steps like intercept heading, range from dme, etc it will also disconnect. it's a little tricky because i'm not sure that you can easily see that the leg will cause that just from looking at the fpl page. (i'm a noob on this fms tho, maybe i'm just looking at the wrong spot)... cheers! -andy crosby
April 21, 201313 yr Any way to change standby instrument to HPA? It stays in Inches even when the config is selected HPA. Nevermind, the standby has hpa on top, it's just cut off in the view of the virtual cockpit.
April 22, 201313 yr How does VoxATC handle the clearance and transponder setting? I too had this problem that seems to have gone away once I left the flight planner alone. However, leaving the flight planner alone also means that I didn't talk to ATC for clearance, etc. I've noticed that after requesting clearance (defualt ATC), FSX is unable to set the Dash 8's transponder like it does for most aircraft. I'm wondering if when FSX tries to set the transponder, it breaks something. Does VoxATC behave similar to FSX ATC in this manner or is it different? it seems like its the same. near as i can tell, voxatc copilot doesn't autotune the comm frequency or the transponder. it seems to work anyway (in fact i didn't notice this until you pointed it out lol). in rc4 the controllers get mad if you don't change your transponder but voxatc i think just kind of ignores it. it seems like the tuning and talking with various centers and towers etc happens magically even tho the actual value on the comm dial never changes. something to ponder i guess cheers -andy crosby
April 22, 201313 yr ...voxatc copilot doesn't autotune the comm frequency or the transponder... Yes, but that makes me wonder even further if it is something about FSX attempting to autotune the transponder that might be messing up the Majestic side of things. I've just been trying to think about where an FSX flight planner/ATC could interact with the majestic software rather than just running in the FSX background. The only two points I could think of was autotuning frequencies and autotuning the transponder. On the flights I've done without the planner and ATC, I have used autotune to get ATIS messages without losing sound. That leaves autotuning the transponder. We already know that FSX can't perform this like it does on most aircraft, but we don't know why. I don't mind it, as it is more realistic to tune it yourself. However, it makes me wonder if the command is getting intercepted or going elsewhere and breaking things. The fact that VoxATC doesn't experience the sound loss and doesn't try to autotune the transponder is consistent with this theory, although doesn't actually prove anything admittedly Eric Szczesniak
April 22, 201313 yr Does anyone know a good Fuel Planner for this bird? My Youtube Channel (P3D/FSX/X-Plane Videos and much more!)
April 22, 201313 yr Does anyone know a good Fuel Planner for this bird? Yes. PFPX. Now, when that's going to be released is anybody's guess. All I know is that they've had a "huge beta" out for the last few weeks. If it is ever released (2016 perhaps?), it promises to address all of our flight planning needs.
April 22, 201313 yr A basic graph for optimum flight level based on weight, and fuel burn would be nice. This release is pretty light on documentation.
