April 21, 201313 yr Will ask again as I don't seem to have found a solution, so if anyone has an answer, grateful. How does one steer this thing apart from that tiller which is kinda awkward to steer that and use a joystick? Is there a way to link that tiller to a joystick, as I have been using for so long on other aircraft, even on the NGX? I use the MS FFb2. Thanks Rick Almeida
April 21, 201313 yr What's wrong with the "aileron + mouse" option? Below 40kt you use the aileron axis to control the tiller. Karl Brooker

I don't mean that as a lecture, but it will answer your question and make your life easier. The ground steering can be done by;- i). dragging the tiller with the mouse (not recommended!) ii). Selecting the "Ailerons+Mouse" selection in the Control Panel then steering using your normal aileron controller axis. iii). Assigning another axis, joystick etc to "Spoiler" and then selecting that in the Control Panel, then using this axis to steer (most realistic and most fun). Whichever way you choose, the "Flight Controls" page of the MJC Q400 Control Panel is your friend  Oh.... there is a switch above the Tiller that needs to be turned on too.
April 21, 201313 yr Still no joy sadly. I have changed to Mouse + Ailerons in the Control Panel but still an alarm sounds when I turn the yoke left or right after 40 knots of speed. This is crazy! How do I take off? JON GREEN
April 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member If GSX is causing this problem how can I disable GSX to avoid the bouncing? The problem is caused by the fact the Q400 doesn't use the default FSX flight model, so it doesn't respond to some standard FSX commands that allows GSX to Push it (we need to disable the FSX flight model before pushing back and re-enable it back when the push ends). For the same reason, the wheels are not turning during the Pushback. In any case, the "jumping" problem should happen only when you use the GSX Pushback so, the solution is simply not using it. If the airplane is still jumping when not being pushed by GSX, that's surely not caused by GSX. We are already been in contact with Majestic, who first reported this issue on our forum, and already suggested some solutions they might try on their own side to have the airplane not jumping with GSX Pushback and we should probably do some modification on our side too (and on their own side as well), to have the wheels turning during the Pushback too. April 21, 201313 yr All OK after long wait for activation. JF sent me a offline installer and an hour later after email exchange the product was activated. Going for a flight. Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
April 21, 201313 yr Anyone getting Fatal Error message when trying to Load the plane on the free flight screen? Stephen Clouse
April 21, 201313 yr Anyone getting Fatal Error message when trying to Load the plane on the free flight screen? Did you install it as Administrator? Plus: make sure to run FSX as Administrator too.
April 21, 201313 yr Just wanted to follow up since I posted having install/activation problems yesterday. I emailed justflight & majestic support before I went to sleep, both responded overnight so thumbs up for quick support on a weekend. I still had the installer open from the night before and as soon as I clicked install it went through without any problems. Fired up FSX and she loaded without issue, still reading and poking around the VC but so far everything is just as others have reported, beautiful bird and superb performance!
April 21, 201313 yr Looking forward to a GEX fix, would be nice to have that pushback. Does anyone know if AES works okay to pushback?

No, I will not consider it a lecture. I have looked at that Flight Controls section in the CP 1)In fact I did read the online sample/tutorial flight CYZD-CYUD. I manage to follow everything right to the point when I now want to taxi out. 2)I've enabled Ailerons+Mouse in the CP. And, using my keyboard's left and right keys, I can visually in VC mode see the tiller being yanked to the right or left, and the rudder pedals moving in sequence, but still the nose-wheel stays put. 3)Admittedly I do not have the registered FSUIPC, but if I have to shell out for that too on top of what this bird cost, to get axis assigned, then I may as well send it back, 4)Can you talk me through (iii)just how do I assign joystick to ailerons, or is it something totally different because I can move the ailerons from the joystick's left-right movements? 5)switch above tiller turned on as per sample flight Rick Almeida
April 21, 201313 yr I can't seem to get tcas to switch from standby to ta/ra I press EXP and then the button next to that ta/ra section, but it doesn't move? Also I have a request to Majestic, would be nice to have in the load program an option for different buttons to automatically set a load. "Full" "Empty" "random" would be nice. Instead of having us write in all the sections.

April 21, 201313 yr Looking forward to a GEX fix, would be nice to have that pushback. Does anyone know if AES works okay to pushback? No, AES also get's reset by the FDE of the Q400... I'd really like to have a pushback that didn't race backwards for this bird... Rónán O Cadhain.
