Zomg that night lighting....

It's gonna take me ages to learn how to fly this airplane the right way... Haha. Luke, are you still working on those tutorials you mentioned a while back? I don't remember exactly but I think someone posted in that topic you made to refire it, but I can't find it.

I'm planning on getting some more air time in her before doing them. I may not be able to do proper flight tutorials until I get more power PC. I know how picky people are on Youtube..

I promise, Luke, I'll never ever switch the night lighting to 'red' ...

(No, I'm NOT applying for a discount!!!)

Hehe - I love the green (-:

Awesome shots Luke.  B)

I noticed you were flying on different FLs like FL340 and FL360 (just like the real ones ). Can you tell me how you know when the aircraft is ready to climb higher?

It all depends on weight, when you burn off more fuel the aircraft will recommend higher altitudes. Just select one and climb to that specific altitude.

Smashing night lighting Luke.  I don't fly much at night, but I have a feeling that will change with this

The FMC constantly(?) updates the calculation of the optimum and the maximum cruise flight level.

Additionally you can enter a step climb size (4.000 ft, for example, IIRC there's also a default value). The FMC will tell you when the next step climb will be ... economic. It's indicated both on the CDU and the ND.

Well deserved, Luke, as just reward for your infectious enthusiasm for this product when it first saw the faint rays of daylight. Nice touch, PMDG.

Great pix too to whet the appetite.

EGL77WL, can you tell us how you got those cockpit shots that crisp and sharp?

When you're filling out the performance page in the FMC - you come to an option for "Step Size" which allows you to put in steps in thousands of feet. There's also an RVSM step which is there by default. You can enter 0 and manually put in step climbs on the legs page. For example: "TLA .831/340S"

On the ND it shows you where to step climb with a "S/C" indication. Very similar to TC/TD. Once your reach TC initially, the progress page will display "TO STEP CLIMB: 322nm" - same in VNAV CRZ page. You're also given the option to change the step climb range in flight via the VNAV CRZ page.

Something extra; if you enter a Mach speed restriction, you can pick a point to go back to ECON speed in the LEGS page. For example: TLA - ECON/340"

He'll correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think the extra crispness of the text in the VC is actually a by-product of using lower anti-aliasing than most use through nVidia Inspector. Looking at his shots, I get the impression he doesn't use supersampling (certainly not SGSS) which does 'blur' the text slightly.

Negative ghost rider the pattern is full lol.  On screenshots, Luke uploads .png files and are sharper than .jpg files.  The only drawback is .png file are typically much larger in size.

That's because JPGs typically apply compression in order to reduce the file size and as such you lose quality.

I could go the .tiff route or just remember to check the bicubic sharper box in CS6 when resizing.  I try not to have any 3mb photos on screenshots, but with all these killer 777 shots that Luke and others are posting I say make em BIG.

Luke.

If you convert a .avi file (fraps) to a mp4 using like sony vegas or a simple video converter you can get about 1gb + (mp4) compare to .avi (fraps 10gb+)

And if you navigate to %temp% using the start menu. You see whole lot of file there. You can just shift delete everything in there. Its just a folder where it keep data when installing

I had about 20gb+ from deleting that. Sorry about my bad English

Wanted to see my video soon :D hope it helps

edit: And if you delete your system restore point that can save you 5gb+ i have to that as i have a ssd
