August 9, 201312 yr Very nice report Really shows the work done behind the systems by PMDG. Aurelien Vandoorine
August 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the kind words guys! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any other cool stories I reckon are worth sharing. That said, all credit goes to PMDG, of course. I'm just the chump who presses the 'V' key repeatedly, then types out a rambling post. Awesome, awesome post, Mark. Thank you for sharing. The way you describe how you made the flight, is exactly the way I do mine. As much realism as possible but maybe not completely by the numbers/procedures due to the lack of time. Seems the PMDG T7 is THE airplane to get for this style of flying. Can't wait! Lenny, There is so much information in there that even semi-casual simmers like you and me can really 'up the ante' in the realism stakes. I personally think this is going to be one of the first add-ons to really introduce the masses to Non-Normal procedures. It really is the most 'data-rich' airplane ever made for FS. Normally I don't tend to fly around with failures armed but with this airplane I'm practically begging for something to drop offline just so I can run the checklists! Mark, Awesome stuff thanks for sharing ! How is shaky Wellington, bit quieter now ? Regards Simon Ward NZCH Hi Simon, It's definitely settled down now, Just as well, I work in the top of the Majestic Centre on Willis St and that building keeps swaying long after the quakes stop! August 9, 201312 yr Thank you for posting but I was also expecting a few shots of the landing in Lisbon Simão dos Santos
August 9, 201312 yr Fantastic Mark. Like another poster, I'm going to enable failures on this bird Scott
August 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Great post!! Do the slats extend beyond mid range? You said you decelerated to 240 kts under VNAV control, yet the checklist states that the slats will extend beyond mid range below 256 kts (I presume to full travel, though the checklist doesn't make that clear). Looking at the graphic for slat position though, they still show mid range? How long is ALTN extension to 20 degrees compared with normal extension? Best regards, Robin.
August 9, 201312 yr Thanks for a great post and awesome pics, Mark! That night lighting gets me everytime, looks great... and well the ECL's, they just blow my mind. The accuracy of the font alone is enough to make me jump up and down in excitement for this product to be installed onto my SSD B) Regards,James White Aerosoft (Airbus X Extended/Twin Otter Extended/PFPX) & Majestic Q400 Beta Team
August 9, 201312 yr Awesome feauture, great post! Could you please tell me how PMDG modelled the alternate gear extension since I saw it on the notes of the ECL but you didn't describe it in your post .. Best regards, Joey Zijdel
August 9, 201312 yr Excellent post! When opening those screenies, I found myself once or twice actually trying to scroll down the checklist by putting the mouse over it like Rob says I can LOL! Honestly though, I just hope that wide beta doesn't take too much longer, I can't keep cleaning the drool off my keyboard any more :Drooling: :LMAO: . Keep these posts coming please! August 10, 201312 yr This is not on the topic above necessarily, but when the flaps are extended, the time it takes for the flap setting image to pop up on the EICAS is a little slow. It is off by a small fraction but I did notice in videos that it is just a little bit slower than it appears in a RW 77L sim or aircraft.
