  1. Our whole fleet now have them, looks quite good actually! There is not a noteable difference vs the "normal" winglets other than a fuel saving for the company (and offcourse some differences in the (wind) limitations). Would be nice if PMDG modelled this offcourse, but as I said, it would be nice..
  2. Is this also going to be implemented for the long awaited SP2 for the 737NGX?
  3. Yeah, just flip the recirc fan switch(es) off. It is a real world practical use to reduce the noise, allthough it increases the load on the packs, so I tend to leave them on in RW.
  4. Oh my.. That's intense !
  5. Obviously put some aileron in the wind to keep the wings level. Don't go beyond 2-3 units due to the fact that the spoilers will deflect. This makes the probability of a tail strike even higher (the spoilers creates drag thus needing more elevator input upon rotation and decreasing tail clearance). After rotation gradually increase the aileron input to keep the wings level! (ofcourse this is real world practice, but this might be adding in the "as real as it gets" thingt...)
  6. Interesting question, allthough I don't see myself using this (theoretical possibility) in the real world because of the placement of the ground air cart and thus the hazard to the ground personell.. Start engine 1 using the "Starting with Ground Air Source" SP.7.5 (page 219). After stabilizing engine 1 close the Isolation Valve switch, now look at the duct pressure and try to start engine 2, does it work? The ground air cart is connected on the right side (no 2) side of the Isolation Valve Switch, thus the right side should be isolated from the left side and the ground cart should be able to start engine 2 if I'm right..
  7. I missed it.. Someone recorded it minding sharing? A simple search, for anyone who missed it: http://www.twitch.tv/frooglepete/b/445803564
  8. Awesome feauture, great post! Could you please tell me how PMDG modelled the alternate gear extension since I saw it on the notes of the ECL but you didn't describe it in your post ..
  9. Thanks for your comments so far! Do you guys think the i7 system Will be "much" better than the i5 system since the price difference is only €23 in favour of the i5?
  10. I don't know, don't think so actually because there is no "K" behind it. Is this a bad sign, I'd rather not OC because I'm not an expert at it ! Heard FSX is pretty much CPU dependant, is system 2 per definition better or should I just go for system 1?
  11. Sorry to bump this up a bit, but as my old pc just died on me I'm desperately looking for a new pc (little low on budget). What do you guys think is the best option of these 2 systems I've got in mind?: System 1 (price €632 / $839,30) CPU: Intel Core i5 4570 (quad-core, 4th generation Haswell) socket 1150, 4x 3.2GHz, 8MB CPU Cache Level 3 RAM: 12GB DDR3 1600 Transcend HDD: 1000GB SATA3 GPU: NVIDIA GTX650 1GB DDR5 Mobo: GigabyteGA-B85M-HD3 System 2 (price €655 / $869,18) CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 processor 3th generation, 4x 3.4 GHZ RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333 HDD: 1000GB SATA2 harddisk Western Digital / Seagate GPU: NVIDIA GTX650 1GB DDR5 Mobo:Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 My goal is to run FSX with OpusFSX, PMDG737NGX and fly at the Mega Airports of Aerosoft like Amsterdam - Paris - Nice etc.. With good AA and smooth FPS, especially on these airports. Is this a realistic goal with one of these systems? Thanks for any reply!!
  12. This is just one of the best video's I have ever seen!
  13. Nice job (mooi man)!
  14. Thank you, nice video!
  15. I thought so too. Remember a story from one of my ATPL theory teachers that this feature was already on the A310 (we used to have one at school). At first this system completely took away all the rudder input needed to compensate but as this resulted in situations where pilots didn't even realised they had an engine failure. Therefore they changed it so that it doesn't compensate all of the yawing motion, pretty neat!
  16. So, in short terms, what do you guys think is a better system for FSX(price/quality)?
  17. EPIC shot dude, keep them coming in this resolution!
  18. Looking great (duh.. PMDG!), thanks for the update! Does this mean the beta-testers will be starting to show (legaly) screenshots and video's on the forum? ^_^
  19. This is true, also in VNAV. SOP's (at least our says so) states that you select the MDA (rounded up to the nearest 100ft) 2.0NM prior to the FAF. When at least 300ft below the missed approach altitude, you can select missed approach altititude on the MCP (this prevents the ALT ACQ/ALT HOLD). Be aware to turn the altitude up to the missed approach altitude in time and do it fast enough, otherwise the plane has a habit of catching the altitude currently turning in the MCP corresponding with the actual altitude passing (even the real plane). Last but not least, non-precision approaches are fun!
  20. Hi all, I'm currently in the difficult situation of creating a new rig to run FSX smooth again. This all against a regular price.. Now I have 2 systems in mind, but the trouble is that I'm not really into all the pro and cons anymore, so I would like to have some tips / suggestions on this one. System 1 (price €669 / $887,76) CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 (quad-core, 4th generation Haswell) socket 1150, 4x 3.4GHz, 8MB CPU Cache Level 3 RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600 Transcend HDD: 1000GB SATA3 GPU: NVIDIA GTX650 1GB DDR5 Mobo: Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3 System 2 (price €655 / $869,18) CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 processor 3th generation, 4x 3.4 GHZ RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333 HDD: 1000GB SATA2 harddisk Western Digital / Seagate GPU: NVIDIA GTX650 1GB DDR5 Mobo:Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 My goal is to run FSX with OpusFSX, PMDG737NGX and fly at the Mega Airports of Aerosoft like Amsterdam - Paris - Nice etc.. With good AA and smooth FPS, especially on these airports. Is this a realistic goal with one of these systems? Really appreciate if I could get some help in the right direction . Thanks in advance!
  21. Can't thank you enough for this one!
  22. PMDG, you're doing it all over again, got me jaw dropping! Stunning work, can't wait for it B) !
  23. Good one, would be great if this will/can be modelled in the 777 (and maybe in a future update for the NGX).
