A2A Accu-Sim Cessna 172 may be out "within the week"

Tell me about it. I've got a hangar full of A2A Accu-Sim fighters thanks to the June sale, and I don't even like flying warbirds. It's been a tremendous educational experience and I'm still convinced that all three of them, in different ways, are trying to kill me.

Now the Cub has been an ongoing love affair, and the same goes for the B-17 (it's a nice stable stately thing). Looks like the 172 is going to be the next member of my regular, non-homicidal fleet.

non-homicidal fleet....Lol. :Nail Biting: ......yeah forgot about the Cub, probably my number #1 all time fav.

I really hope they're not using the Default FSX GPS for the little GPS they have in it.

i have over 200 hours in a C172S, and what I've seen so far is nothing short of amazing- what an amazing training aid....

There was a post in their forums a while back that said it will have full RXP integration with 3d knobs.

Sweet! Icing on the cake! I'm pleased too the pilots VC yoke is removable. I made my first (and last) post over at the Aerosoft forum last night asking if it was possible to edit out the VC yoke on their Twin Otter as I have a real yoke in my home cockpit, and was told by their forum moderator literally I was an idiot lol. A2A get it! Wish I coulda chatted with Scott at Oshkosh, seems like a nice guy too.

WOW! ... Jumping Jehosephs! .......... Scott's vids are awesome; he has a certain flair and dramatic presenting style (note the whispering sections, before something dramatic  )..... but RIGHTLY SO !!!. ......... A2A products; I'm another who quite firmly hates war birds, and in fact anything military, but jumped on both the military and civilian P-51 .... how could we not?!

This is agony though;   I only have enough flying toy coupons (=money) for either this or the 777 .... tough choice!

Just what the world needs, another Barn door Cessna. At least it's an A2A.

As amazing as this looks (and as big an A2A fan as I am)... I feel like I ought to give a head-nod to Marcel Felde for the Aerosoft/4X Katana, which for the past three years has offered GA fliers walkarounds, wear and tear, maintenance requirements and ownership decisions like oil grade.  The A2A 172 looks more detailed and more refined - not surprising in view of the fact that it's more recent, it's the creation of a bigger development team and, let's face it, it has that A2A touch... but some credit ought to go to Marcel for an earlier (and quite good) point of entry into a similar experience.  And he's a one-man shop, which counts for something.

My thoughts exactly... the Katana raised the bar in this area long ago. Glad to see A2A pushing realism even further!

It will be the only one worth having at this point.

I have been waiting for an accurate up to date simulation of a 172 for a LONG time!

I agree it will be modeled accurately I am sure. Now if it was a 337 I think I would get it. I learned in a J3 but had many hours in the barn door as well, but a 150.

There are just so many out there I am tired of looking at the panel LOL.

If you own the Q400 and NGX then get the 172. No point having 2 big jets. Besides one of the things putting me off the 777 initially is the automation. I get bored just pressing buttons and watching screens. The 172 is something I will handfly start to finish over some Orbx scenery.

Looking forward to this and the best part is you can just go do an intro lesson to see how it feels between the two.

You know it is funny if you think about it.  Many real world pilots would look at the 172...aka a Toyota Corolla...and a P-51 aka a Ferrari.   They would consider getting a chance to own/'fly a P-51 a huge upgrade.  Not many P-51 pilots would say...hey I can't wait to get back to flying the 172!

But because this is virtual flying, and because this is A2A we are talking about...virtual pilots do look forward to going from a P-51 to a 172.  That really must be high praise for an addon developer when you would actually look forward going from the Ferrari to the Corolla LOL

I'm laughing at myself just after thought that just waiting for the second developer video is making me excited like a 5 year old kid.
