September 23, 201312 yr Marc is correct, Mak. September 23, 201312 yr Thanks Chris, does that mean Gary's vehicles are textured at night now? Symon, I checked the static vehicles and other objects at Heathrow Xtreme (and a couple of other Xtreme airports) at night, and I couldn't find any problems whatsoever. September 23, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hey guys, Did some further testing last night.... Aerosoft Ibiza X - With DX10 lights and effects enabled from the fixer, PAPI lights don't work. It only works when when DX10 lights and effects are disabled from the fixer. Aerosoft Madeira X - No PAPI lights at all. I have a lot more add ons, but these are the only ones I have installed at the moment because my current FSX install is quite fresh. It seems to be a hit and miss with airport compatibilities. I've decided to disable all my airport/scenery add ons from the scenery library when flying jets in DX10. I'm only using UTX and GEX. Landing with no PAPI lights just ruins the whole experience for me. I thought it wouldn't be as nice using default airports, but I'm actually liking it. I can have a lot more ai traffic and fps stay high. Aerosoft Ibiza X - if the lights work with effects disabled then you can almost certainly solve it with effects enabled by adding a single ballast light to the aircraft config. Its in the manual somewhere - DXtoolbox can help you do this. What is going on is that the first effect style lights in Dx10 are always invisible. Normally that is the aircraft nav lights. The effects fix sorts the nav lights but this initial "invisibility" then bypasses them and arrives at the next effect based light which sounds like your papi lights. The ballast is just a sacrificial black light that accepts the invisibility. The only downside is that the papi lights will then go out with the panel lights. My FSX Analysis Blog

DX10 Fixer Bug - Airport such and such no papi Then include the details there so that they dont get burried in here. Charles. Texture Convertor is no longer needed, Symon. I haven't checked abolutely everywhere yet, but I haven't seen any airliners, other planes or objects anywhere to date that suffer from the untextured "plain white or grey" problem, and since I start all of my flights at dawn.......that probably means that it has been sorted out. The NGX cockpit is absolutely fine for me, Howard. I still have a small problem with the water textures (the lighter areas that should look white are actually light purple), but the overall graphical quality is good enough for me to stick with DX10 mode. What do you have enabled in DX10 Fixer, and what settings are you using in Nvidia Inspector? You have to force vSync with Inspector for nVidia and RadeonPro for ATI when in DX10 mode. As for water, install a different REX theme for water if you are a REX user. Check your REX options for DX10 enhanced water checked off (by that I mean enabled)? Im fuzzy on that one though. At work ATM. If you have Transparancy AA enabled in nVidia Inspector and set to 4xSGSS, your cockpit should look awesome. ATI users must set SuperSample in CCC or RadeonPro FSX's profile. Charles.
September 23, 201312 yr Symon, I checked the static vehicles and other objects at Heathrow Xtreme (and a couple of other Xtreme airports) at night, and I couldn't find any problems whatsoever. Thanks again. (still having probs with gps showing (black screen)
September 23, 201312 yr Slight diversion here, but.......how many FSX users disable their antivirus software before flying? Most I know of. I don't even have anti virus. LOL Not recomended for daily use computers though.
September 23, 201312 yr I have addon ConverterX. Do I need this DX10 patch? Eddie Hi Eddie, If you have the DX10 fixer, you can give the Adoon Converter the spanish archer. I still have a small problem with the water textures (the lighter areas that should look white are actually light purple), but the overall graphical quality is good enough for me to stick with DX10 mode. Using Rex, I found the Theme "Reality" gave the best looking water, colour etc. Make sure DX10 is selected in the options page. September 24, 201312 yr Aerosoft Madeira X 1.20 I just did another test. Doesn't work during the day but ok at dusk/night. I'm still reading the manual which is great and very informative. Nature Boy

September 24, 201312 yr so guys...It is worth it or not buying this addon? That's a loaded question and depends on too many personal factors. Are you happy with DX9? Do you feel $34 is fair for a 'patch'? Is excellent anti-aliasing important to you? Do you own addons that this patch still does not fix 100%? Do you suffer from OOM often?
September 24, 201312 yr For the record, I solved my problem of lighter areas of water looking purple by activating DX10 Optimised water in the REX Essential Options menu! I still think that the water texture itself looks rather "flat" when compared to the nice wave animations I was getting with REX "Sparkling" water in DX9 mode, but it's possible that I need to make further adjustments. September 24, 201312 yr Well, thanks for the tool. But Aerosoft Airports like EDDM or German Airports 2 are still white at night. I pushed the Legacy Slider to the left, but that doesn't fix the textures at night. Any chance to get them working? FTX Global Light and the other things works great ^_^
