DX10 Fixer finally released.

Check for any remnants SweetFX, ENB Series, Mr. Handi FXAA files left in the root of FSX. d3d9.dll, dxgi.dll, dxgi.dll - all will kill FSX if they are even slightly corrupt.

While SweetFX works with DX10 - ENB does not, nor some of the older post-processing AA control-type addons. Ince DX10 is up and running, and optimized - matbe after a week to become familiar with all of it's nuances - then re-install SweetFX.

Hello guys,

some questions (excuse me if already answered but I probably missed them) to evalute the purchase:

1. Will it work with the PMDG 737NGX in all situations (day/night, dawn/dusk) without any problem?

2. The same as 1. but for the PMXG 777X, because I have seen a screenshot with a strange effect at night.

3. Could the AA e transparency filter settings still be set in nVidia Inspector or I must use the DX10 fixer control panel? I am mainly interested to the transparency filter (2xSGSS) to reduce/erase shimmering boring effects.

4. Will it work in all situations (day/night, dawn/dusk) with all these sceneries: FsDreamteam (in particular CYVR which has dynamic shadows) & Flightbeam?

5. Did you experience an increase of (avg) fps or a smoother (no stutters) behaviour?

Finally, a suggestion. Why don't create a database list of addons (aircrafts, sceneries...) giving information about work YES or NOT?

Thanks. Bye.

Create a separate thread maybe and then it wont get buried and replies will stay relevant.

Charles.

20 fps+... at Heathrow... online... with REX... in Concorde X... somebody pinch me!

Congrats to all those involved!

DX10 rocks!

Stratos Moschos

Really liking the frames and smoothness with this, especially the fact clouds seem to take less of a hit and of course cockpit self shadowing is very funky. Yup a few sceneries are having glitches but that will improve over time I think.

Would thoroughly recommend as now the sim looks and performs more modern.

Hey guys,

Did some further testing last night....

Aerosoft Ibiza X - With DX10 lights and effects enabled from the fixer, PAPI lights don't work.  It only works when when DX10 lights and effects are disabled from the fixer.

Aerosoft Madeira X - No PAPI  lights at all.

I have a lot more add ons, but these are the only ones I have installed at the moment because my current FSX install is quite fresh.

It seems to be a hit and miss with airport compatibilities.  I've decided to disable all my airport/scenery add ons from the scenery library when flying jets in DX10.  I'm only using UTX and GEX.  Landing with no PAPI lights just ruins the whole experience for me.  I thought it wouldn't be as nice using default airports, but I'm actually liking it.  I can have a lot more ai traffic and fps stay high.

Paul, please, I need SweetFX settings in dx10 now! What are the changes? d3d9.dll is back in the folder, but no changes in SweetFX_setting.txt yet. Overall SweetFX doesn't seem to work under dx10 for me yet (judging by the picture quality). What is missing?

Thanks,

Dirk.

Why is dx10 preview window in main fsx menu look like crap ? can anyone answer that - thanks

Because that's what MIcrosoft intended?!

It actually isn't antialiased at all in DX9 or DX10.

In DX9 however it can be forced on from Nvidia/ATI but that isn't an option in DX10 and the in game AA just isn't enabled.

Where abouts (in the world) are you located, Dirk. We can do Teamviewer session and get Sweet up  without too much problem if you like.. You can also pm me, if you wish and we can pass some screenshots (and files) back and forth a tad easier, and we can also Teamspeak on the Avsim Teamspeak 'system', if you wish.  Your call!

All the Best,

peej

Steve, let me take this opportunity to thank you for all your work which I have been following from the outset.

Richard, if the jagged spinning aircraft really offends you, SMAA in SweetFX or FXAA in Nvidia Inspector will make it look better.

Neither does much for the quality of the picture once you start though.

Nick

Thanks Nick!  Its all been rather bizarre

I see from my user details that it must have been 15 months that I started a small thread saying I had a fix for flashing runways..

Then someone wanted fences fixed, cars, progressive taxi then someone mentioned grey scenery at night....

Do you have AA checked in FSX?

Sure, I followed Paul's "How to", Steve's manual and actually I'm not the first time in DX10.

Apologies... Didn't know your background.

Hi Bruce.

Just the fixer is all you need. But you also need to set up your vid driver by following PJ's "Hot To Doc".

Plenty of help here Bruce if you get stuck.

Hi Julian,

Thanks again for the helpful reply- is the "Hot-to-Doc" in the Fiver package, or downloadable here (or somewhere else)?

Also, I sent you a PM about the Coast visit... :)

Thanks, Bruce.
